March 22nd.

It was the beginning of spring break, and the day before Sam's fourth anniversary.  Jessica was going to be driving to see Sam's family, and Danny and Zachary were going to be spending time with his family.
This was the first time they went to see Sam's family since he passed, and Grayson's first time ever going.

"Mom, I'm kinda nervous to be back around dad's family.. It's been a while since we've all been together. We haven't been to Aunt Naomi's since dad came with us... What if it brings back memories that.. I don't know.."

"Michael honey, the memories are good for us! Remembering the little getaways we used to take as a family is good."

"I know.. How is it possible that tomorrow is four years since he left. It feels like just yesterday."

Jessica nods and places her palm on his cheek.
"I know, baby. It's crazy."

I'm happy to see everyone and that grandma is going too.. It'll almost feel like old times." Michael looks down.

"Yeah." She says rubbing her thumb back and forth on his cheek.

"Plus it'll be good for Grayson to see daddy's family."

"That's true. They can tell him the stories of all the goofy things dad did." Michael smiles.

"Yes, and there are a lot of them." Jessica laughs.

"Heh.. I love you, mom."

"I love you more, baby."

"Bye baby, I'll miss you." Jessica says giving soft kisses to Danny's lips.

"I'll miss you too.  I'll call you everyday."

"You promise?"

"I promise."

"Okay.. You boys have a good time, and behave yourselves!" Jessica points her finger to Danny.

"We will, honey."

"Bye Zach." She says walking over to hug him.

"Bye Jessie, you all have a safe trip."

Jessica holds her palms on his cheeks and tears up.

"Ma, what's wrong?"

"I'm gonna miss you!"

"I'll miss you too, but it's just a week.  I'll call you everyday too." He smiles.

"Okay.. I love you."

"I love you too, mom."

"Oh I love it when he calls me mom!" Jessica hugs him tightly and a tear rolls down her cheek.

Zachary chuckles and Danny smiles watching the both of them.

"Oh my gosh, you're here!" Sam's sister Naomi runs over and greets everyone.

"Grayson! Oh my goodness! I haven't seen you since you were just a baby!"

"I not a baby no more!"

"Haha! No you're not a baby anymore! Oh but you're so cute! You look just like your daddy, little boy!"

"Yeah! My dada's name is Sam!"

"Wow! You're so smart!" She smiles.

"And quite the little chatter box too!"

"Oh yes he is!" Jessica chuckles.

"I got two daddy's and one mommy, and alooooots of brothers!"

Naomi laughs and says, "What's your other daddy's name?"

"His name daddy."

"Oh my goodness you're too much!"

"Grayson, what's daddy's other name?" Jessica laughs.

"He's Danny."

"Good boy!"

"Danny? Hm.. Well I'd love to meet him some day." She kisses his cheek.

"Hey! You give me kisses?" He smiles.

"Of course! I'm your aunt Naomi!"

"But you not my mommy!" He nods with his adorable smile and that lit up a room just like his father.

"Grayson!" Jessica laughs.

"Well that's true, but I still love you! Do you love me?"

"I no know you like dat!" He nods.

"He's too much!" Samuel laughs.

"Oh my little baby nephews! I guess you're not babies anymore, but get over her and give aunt Brandi a kiss!" Sam's other sister says as she walks into the house.

"Hi aunt B!" Michel hugs her.

"You boys are all grown up! Oh and look at Grayson!"

"Hi! My names Gwayson!" He smiles and waves.

"Hi little buddy!" She picks him up and kisses his cheek.

"More kisses?!" He giggles and wipes his cheek.

"Yes more kisses!! I'm your aunt Brandi!"

"Bwandi?"

"Oh I love the way you say my name!" She giggles.

"Yes, I'm your aunt! I'm your daddy's sister."

"My daddy Sam?"

"You only have one daddy, Grayson."

"Nuh-uh! I gots two of em!" Grayson holds one finger up on each hand in her face.

"His name is Danny and he my dada too."

"Well he's not your Real dad-"

"Um! Boys, why don't you take your brother and change his diaper for me?"

"Sure." James takes Grayson from their aunt and the boys follow.

"Brandi, what the hell was that about?"

"What? My brother is his father, Jessica."

"Yes he is, no one is saying he's not. Grayson knows who his birth father is."

"Really? Then who is this Danny?"

"Brandi, come on. You know Danny's my husband, and that he would never try and replace Sam. We talk about him, show him videos and pictures, and we go to see him all the time. When was the last time you've gone to the cemetery to see him?" Jessica asks because she knows she hasn't gone since his funeral.

"Jessica, you know that it's hard on me! That's my brother."

"I know that. It's hard on my boys and I too.
Now we came here to have a good time, please don't say anything like that to him again? Grayson doesn't know any better-"

"Then You should teach him what's right!"

"He wants a dad. Heh! That's not horrible, Brandi. I'm married to Danny, he IS his father. Not his birth father, but he helps me raise him and he loves that little boy more than anything." Jessica's voice starts to shake.

"You don't know our lives, so don't say another word about it!"

That night Danny FaceTimed Jessica.

"Hi baby, how was your day?"

"Good, how was yours?" Jessica whispers because Grayson was asleep right beside her.

"Great! Zach, my mom and I spend the day together, and tomorrow we're all going out with my brother and sister."

"Oh honey, that's great. I'm happy that you guys are getting this time together. I miss you like crazy though."

"I miss you too! How are the boys?"

"Good, they're out with their cousins, and Grayson's asleep." Jessica says moving the camera to him past out and spread out all over the bed.

"He's my cuddle bug while you're not here." She chuckles.

"Awe! Well I'm honored to have such a cute stand in."

Jessica chuckles and puts the camera back on her.

"Baby, are you okay?"

"Yeah, why?"

"You look a little sad."

"No, I just miss you that's all."

"I miss you too, but I want you to have a good time, baby."

"I am... Danny, I love you.."

"I love you too, Princess."

Jane's POV.

"It's good to have you here, mom." Brandi says.

"Well it's great to be here! I've missed you."

"I've missed you too.. Why don't you move over here?"

"Why don't you visit home?"

"I don't know.. It's hard for me to be in Cloquet."

"I know.
Oh and another thing." Jane becomes serious.

"What's wrong?"

"Don't say anything to Jessica about Grayson calling Danny his father."

Brandi sighs and looks to the side.

"Mom, that's not his father."

"Bran, you're never around, you have no idea how much that man has helped that girl. How much he has helped those boys. Grayson loves him so much.. He's a smart boy, he knows who is father is.. But he also knows that Danny loves him.. Who knows he loves Danny and that he is his father as well."

"Mom-"

"No Brandi! I have seen Jessica at her lowest point. I never ever want to see her like that again." Jane says as tears form in her eyes.

"Daniel makes her happy and I know it's because my son sent him to her. He sent him to her to take care of her and to love her and the boys.. To be a father to Grayson because Samuel couldn't be here with him.  Daniel changed her for the better and him and his son made their little family feel complete again.  Sam is always with them, they keep his spirit alive.  Daniel is a good man and he makes them happy, so don't talk about him like that again."

"... Alright.. I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize to me, apologize to Jessica.  She doesn't need stress like this right now."

"What do you mean?"

"She just doesn't need it, Brandi.  Apologize."

"I will.."

The next morning.

Jessica came down with Grayson and Brandi pulled her aside.

"Jess!"

"What?"

"I'm sorry about yesterday."

"It's fine.."

"No it's not fine. I was very rude and had no business saying anything to you or Grayson."

Jessica just looks at her.

"I'm sure Danny is an amazing man, I'd love to meet him one day. I really am sorry, and I hope you forgive me."

"I forgive you.."

"Thank you. I love you, Jess." Brandi hugs her tight.

"I love you too.  I just really hope you don't think we forgot about Sam.  We talk about him every single day, we watch home videos so he knows his voice.. Grayson loves Sammy."

Brandi tears up and says, "I know.  I shouldn't have doubted you.  I am so so sorry."

"Stop apologizing, it's okay." Jessica smiles softly.

Four days into their stay.

Jessica woke up with an upset stomach and a headache. When she went down to breakfast her sister in law smiled and said, "Jessica, you look so gorgeous!"

"Heh, really? I don't feel gorgeous.. Thank you though."

"Why don't you feel gorgeous?"

"I think I just ate something that didn't agree with me. I've been sick all morning." She says with her hand on her stomach.

"Awe you poor thing! Do you want me to make you something that's maybe a little easier on your tummy?"

"No, this bacon and eggs smells delicious!" She smiles and grabs a plate.

Everyone thought it was a bit odd, but really didn't look much into it.

"Hello pretty girl, how are you today?"

"Good! How's my handsome husband?"

"Great! But I do miss your lips."

"Awe! I miss your lips too."

"Just a few more days, my love."

"Yep!"

"So how are you today?"

"I feel kinda yucky." Jessica pouts.

"Yucky? Well that's not good!"

"Yeah.. I'll be fine."

"I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you get better soon."

"Thank you, my love."

After breakfast Jessica went back to bed while everyone else took turns caring for Grayson.

Jane knocks lightly on the door and Jessica tells her to come in.

"Here's some tea, honey."

"Thank you, Jane."

"You're welcome. Let me feel your forehead.. You don't feel feverish."

"It's just my stomach. I can't keep anything down."

"Do you think it's just a stomach bug?"

"I would assume."

"Well could you be pregnant?"

"I don't know, I didn't really think about that."

"Well you never know."

"Oh wow.."

Jane chuckles as Jessica stares into space.

"I'm headed to the store right now to pick up some things for dinner. Anything you might want me to pick up?"

Jessica just looks at Jane with her eyes widened.

She laughs and says, "I think I know exactly what to bring you."

"Thank you.. I owe you one."

"Don't mention it." Jane smiles softly and kisses her cheek.

The entire time Jane was gone Jessica sat upstairs thinking. She couldn't believe pregnancy didn't enter her mind. She was nervous that it might have something to do with her cyst, or something even worse. She was just praying for the best.

When Jane got home she went upstairs and brought Jessica the test.

"Honey, whatever it is, I'm here for you. You don't even need to let me know the result, I just want you to know that I'm here and I'm praying for you."

"Thank you, Jane." Jessica smiles and hugs her.

Jessica took the test and set it down on the counter.

"Please.. Please let me see those two lines." She speaks quietly before looking at the results.

Jessica gasps lightly and tears start running down her cheeks.
She covers her mouth and feels her heart beating fast.

"Oh my God!  Oh, thank you Jesus.. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
