Zoe and John's POV.

Zoe stared at the picture she told Dorothy to send to her, and couldn't stop crying.

"John, look at him!"

John lifts his hand and Zoe looks down.

"John, we shouldn't have done this.. This is our baby!"

"Would you stop crying already?!" He raises his voice.

"I missed fifteen years, John... Fifteen years."

"The boy is fine, we did the right thing."

Zoe nodded her head and looked out the window.

2004.

"John, I really don't know if we made the right decision. How can we turn our backs on our own son when he needs help?"

"I've made the decision Zoe, it's over with."

"I'm his mother, I have a say!"

"No you don't!"

"This is just crazy, I won't do it!"

"Yes you will! This is good for him. He'll be okay, you'll see."

"What about Zachary?"

John sighs and rubs his head.

"When Danny calls us, then we'll see. We don't call him first, understand?"

"John!"

"Do you understand?" He raises his voice.

"Yes.."

Two months later.

"John, I need to call him, I want to hear his voice!"

"No! Did you forget what I said?"

"Please!" She sobs.

"I said no!" John roughly grabs her by the arm.

"John stop it!"

"I said not to call him!"

"You can't keep me away from my son!" She pulls away from him and runs to the phone.

"I said NO!!" John yanks the phone from her and throws it to the wall, then slaps her hard across the face.

Zoe grabs her face and looks down.

"Look at me!" John yanks her arm and throws it down to her side.

"You touch that phone again and I'll hit you ten times harder than I just did.  Do you understand?"

"..."

"DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!"

"YES! Yes..." She looks down and cries.

"Good. Now stop crying!" John looks down to her, then walks off.

Zoe sat down on the floor and sobbed uncontrollably.

Her body was shaking, she just wanted to talk to her baby.

John was very set on letting Danny find his own way. Every time Zoe attempted to make contact with Danny, he became very abusive. Eventually Zoe gave up. She knew she wasn't going to win, and she was tired of getting beat up all the time.
No one knew that side of John, not even Zoe until this whole thing with Danny came up.

The night Jessica told Danny about his parents, he was so emotional. Jessica had never seen him that upset before. Jessica held him and did her best to be there and comfort him.

The next Danny was still upset, but he had to put it aside and go to work.

"Are you sure you're okay, baby?" Jessica fixes his collar.

"Yeah.. I'll be fine."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Jessica smiles softly and kisses his lips.

"Have a good day at work. Clean those dirty teeth!" She smiles and playfully pinches his cheek.

"Heh.. Alright." He smiles.

"Say bye, daddy." Jessica tells Grayson.

"Bye bye, daddy! Kiss!" Grayson puckers his lips.

"Muah!  Bye bye, Gray. Love you!"

"Dr. Huston, you have a call."

"Who is it?"

"I don't know, but she said it's personal."

Danny sighs and gets up from what he was doing.
"Hello?"

"Daniel?"

"This is Dr. Daniel Huston, may I ask who's speaking, please?"

"Danny..."

In that moment Danny froze and stared straight into space.  He knew that voice.  It was a voice he could never forget.

"Danny?  Danny, it's me.. It's mommy."

Danny opened his mouth, but couldn't seem to get any words out.

"Daniel, I'm sorry.  I am so so sorry!  I know you don't want to talk to me, but please give me a chance to speak to you."

"I-I.. I can't do this right now." Danny hangs the phone up, then sighs and rubs his hand on his head.
