Danny went upstairs to be with Jessica after he spoke with the boys.

He slowly opened the door and her back was facing him.

Danny sat behind her and rubbed her arm.

Jessica sniffled and Danny kisses her temple.

"It's not fair."

"I know, baby.."

"We've been through so much."

"I know we have.. But God has a plan for us.
Everything happens for a reason."

"There's no reason our baby died, Daniel."

"I know but.. Jessie, you have to think that maybe it was for the best.  The baby could have had something wrong with him, like heart problems for example... What if you kept that little guy inside of you for nine months, then something happened?  Im not saying it's better this way, but at lease we know they're safe.  She could have been born and lived in pain.. Right now our baby feels no pain, and she never will."

Jessica covers her face and cries quietly.

Danny wraps his arm around her stomach and pulls her close to him.

"I just wish things were different. Why can't the baby be safe with me? Why wasn't my body enough?"

"Baby, this wasn't your body's fault.. This just happens sometimes. Please stop thinking that way."

Jessica turns to her back and looks at Danny.

Her lips quiver and she holds her arms out to him.

"Awe baby." Danny lays his upper body on top of her and buries his face in her neck.

"I just feel like a horrible mother for saying those things about my baby."

"You didn't say any horrible things. You just weren't ready for a baby right now and that's okay, Jess."

"No it's not because God heard me and took my baby away! I wish I had never said those things!" Jessica bawls.

"Baby this isn't your fault, please believe me!" Danny wipes her cheeks.

"I just feel bad.. You wanted to have a baby so bad." She says losing her breath.

"No baby, stop. It's okay."

"I'm sorry, Danny. I'm sorry!"

"Jessica I'm not blaming you for this!"

"Why not?  It's all my fault!"

"Look at me!  This is not your fault, do you understand me?"

Jessica nods and Danny says, "Don't say it again!"

He sighs and lays beside her.

He touches her stomach and Jessica lays her hand on his. 

"Baby Huston.. Know that mommy and daddy love you more than anything.. And your brothers all love you too."

Jessica wipes her tears and Danny says.

"Babe, our baby has two very special people watching him or her.."

Jessica smiles softly and nods her head.

"Yes she does."

"She?" Danny smiles.

"Yeah.. *Shrugs* just a guess." She chuckles softly.

Danny kisses her stomach then lays on it.

"She's with Uncle Sam and aunt Camille." He smiles.

"Heh!  Yeah.." Jessica says with a small smile.

They hear a soft knock on the door.

"Come in." Danny says.

"Hey.. Gray keeps crying for his mama." James says with the rest of the boys behind him.

"Awe.. Come here, Grayson."

James hands him to her and he lays on her chest and sucks his thumb.

"Mom.. We're sorry.." Samuel says with a sad look.

"Thank you, baby.. Me too.."

"If there's anything we can do, just let us know."

"Thank you, baby." She smiles softly.

The boys leave and Danny lays on his side staring at Grayson.

"You're a mama's boy, aren't you bud?"

He nods his head and sits up.

"Dis my mama!" He hits her chest.

Jessica smiles at him and Danny rubs his head.

"You my Danny!" He points to him.

"And I am very proud to be your Danny!" He says and Jessica giggles.

One week later.

Jessica has been depressed all week.  It's understandable with the baby, and the twins heading  back to OU.

It was Saturday and the boys were leaving after church the next day.

Jessica and the boys went to visit Sam while Danny took Zachary out for some father son bonding.

Jessica set out fresh flowers for him and cried a little more than usual.

"Mama no cry!  Dada right here!" Grayson smiles.

Jessica rubs Grayson's back and sniffles.

"No cry!  No cry!"

She gives him a smile and wipes her tears.

James wraps his arm around her and she lays her head on him.

"I'm gonna miss you boys!"

"We're gonna miss you too."

"But we'll be back soon!" Sam smiles.

"Yeah for little man's second birthday!" James smiles at Grayson.

"How is he gonna be two already?!" Michael says.

"I know, it goes by so fast!  I don't have anymore babies." Jessica covers her mouth and cries.

"We'll always be your babies, ma." Samuel smiles.

"That's true." Jessica gives him a smile.

The next day after mass Jessica and Danny were  going to be dropping the twins off at the airport.

"Are you sure you don't need me to go with you?  Danny and I can drive you there!  It's not a problem!" Jessica says.

"No, we're fine!  Thank you though."

"Yeah.. You guys have done a lot for us.. Thanks." Sam smiles.

"The house is gonna seem so empty now." Danny says.

"Heh, you'll get used to it!" Sam chuckles.

"Bye Mikey.. You and Zach don't get into to much trouble."

"Yeah, learn from Sam's mistakes!" James jokes.

"James, that joke is so old! 
... But true!  Be good!" Sam points his finger at the boys making them chuckle.

"Awe my boys!  Why don't you just go to Minnesota state?" Jessica says.

"It'll be okay, mom." James hugs her.

"But I miss you already!"

"We'll miss you too!"

"Please be good and study hard!"

"We will."

"Remember that your father is watching, Samuel!" She points her finger.

"I know!" He smiles and hugs her.

"Are we going to your mom's?" Danny asks after they leave the airport.

"No, I just wanna go home."

"Awe mom, I wanted to go!" Michael whines.

"Well maybe we can go for a little while?" Danny asks.

"Okay.. But I really don't want too stay long."

"We'll leave whenever you're ready, baby."

Jessica's family noticed that something was bothering Jessica besides the fact that the boys had just left.

"Jess, you okay?" Sarah asks.

Jessica nods her head and continues looking out the window she was sitting beside.

"I know you miss your boys.. At least they're going to school and getting a good education."

Jessica smiles softly.

The rest of the time everyone came up and asked her what was wrong.  Jessica couldn't take the constant questioning anymore.

"Please don't ask me if I'm okay again!  I am not okay!  I'm not!" Jessica bursts into tears.

Danny quickly walks over to her and hugs her.

"No Danny!" She pushes him off of her.

"Something happened and.. I just hate being here and acting like it's all okay when it's not!"

"What's wrong?" Dorothy asks with concern.

Jessica struggles to speak and tries to catch her breath.

"I-I.."

"Jessica, you don't have to do this now." Danny holds her hand.

She yanks it away and says, "I was pregnant... But I lost my baby.."

"Oh Jessie!" Ann says with tears.

Dorothy hugs her tightly and Jessica bawls.

"It happened last week.. The baby was only seven weeks old, and I failed them!"

"Jessica no!  That's not true!" Dorothy tells her.

"But it is, mom!"

"No it's not." She nods.

Everyone gives them some space, and her mother in law came over and gave her a hug.

"Jessie, I'm so sorry for yours and Daniel's loss.  I know how you feel and it sucks.. But it's not your fault."

Jessica wipes her eyes and looks at Jane.

"Losing a child is hard no matter what.  No matter how young or old they are, and I am truly sorry."

"Thank you." Jessica hugs her again.

"Do they know what caused this?" Dorothy asks.

"No.  They don't know anything.  I didn't even know I was pregnant.  I took a test a couple days before and it was negative.  Danny was really hoping for a positive, but I.. I didn't want a baby.

I said it so many times.. That's why this is my fault.  God heard me and took my baby away from me.."

"Jessica, don't think like that! 

You and Daniel can try again.  They did say you could still get pregnant, right?" Jane asks.

"Yeah, but.. I don't want to go through this again." Jessica nods.

"It was a miracle I was even able to get pregnant.  I have one ovary that lowers my chances of getting pregnant.  I can't go through another loss, and I can't put Danny through that again."

"I understand."

Jessica sighs and smiles at them softly.

"Thank you for talking to me.  Danny keeps telling me that it's not my fault, but I guess it helps hearing it from someone else."

"Well we are always here for you, baby.  You know that." Dorothy smiles and touches her hand.

Jessica has been taking it day by day.  She's still having a hard time and feels guilty for the loss of their baby, but Danny is doing his best to keep her busy and her mind occupied.

However September 16th was different.

It was Saturday and Danny had made breakfast.

"Jessica, are you coming down?  I don't want your food getting cold." He comes up to get her for the second time.

"No, just eat without me.  I'm not hungry."

"Are you crying?  Jessie, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, please just leave me alone."

"But Jess-"

"Please!"

Danny sighs and walks downstairs.

"Is mom okay?"

"Yeah.. Yeah, she's fine.  She's just tired.  You boys eat up." He smiles softly.

"Danny, where my mama?"

"She's sleeping, Gray."

Michael saw the worry and sadness in Danny's eyes.

Michael's cell phone rang and it was James.

"Hello?"

"Hey Mike, how's mom?"

"She's having a rough day.."

"I figured.. Poor ma."

"How did you know she was having a bad day?"

"What are you an idiot?  It's mom and dad's anniversary!"

"Oh!  That's right!"

"What?" Danny asks.

"Today's my parents anniversary."

"Oh!  That's why she's upset.. Poor Jess.."

"Michael, just talk to her.  She needs you."

"I will."

"Tell her Sam and I said we love her."

"I will."

Michael hangs up and excuses himself.

"I'm gonna talk to her."

Danny nods and Michael goes up to his mother's bedroom.

"Morning mom."

"Good morning, baby."

"Thirteen years?"

"Yep. *Nods* Crazy, isn't it?"

"Very!  Are we going to see him today?"

"I want to."

"Mom?"

"What?"

"We should ask coach and Zach to come with us."

"You think so?"

"Yeah!" He smiles and nods.

"I'm sure dad would love to meet him."

Jessica smiles with tears in her eyes and hugs him.

"I'm sure he would, Michael."

Jessica goes downstairs in her robe and smiles at Danny.

"There's my beautiful girl." He hugs her.

"I'm sorry.. I didn't know what today was.."

Jessica takes a deep breath and says, "It's okay.  It's my thirteenth wedding anniversary."

"Wow, thirteen years?"

"Yeah.. But we would have been together for twenty years."

"That's a long time!"

"I know!  Danny?"

"Yeah?"

"Would you and Zach like to come with Grayson, Michael and I to see Sam?"

"We'd love too." Danny smiles.

They get to the cemetery and Grayson runs to Sam's stone.

"He already knows the way." Jessica chuckles.

"He's so cute." Danny smiles.

They all catch up to Grayson and he has a huge smile on his face.

"Danny dis my dada's home!"

Jessica's eyes immediately fill with tears and Danny sits down on the ground.

"Is it?!  Well this is nice!"

He sits Grayson down on his lap and he says, "Say hi!"

"Well hello Sam.  I've heard many great things about you.  You're a good man... You and Jessica have raised some amazing boys.  I love them all."

Jessica cries tears of happiness because of how sweet Danny is.

"They all love you dearly, Sam.  Thank you for bringing us together.  I know you had to have some say in Jessica and I getting together." He chuckles.

Jessica sits beside him and places her hand on his back.

She wipes her tears and smiles.

"Happy Anniversary, Sammy."

Jessica lays on Danny's shoulder and Grayson talks and talks.

"He's cute.."

"I know.." Jessica says quietly.

"Smile baby."

"It's hard to smile these days.

"I know but.. Sam is taking good care of our baby.  Isn't that right Sam?"

Jessica chuckles and Danny continues, "The boys are at school, Zach and Mike are doing well in high school, and we have this sweet little guy." He looks down to Grayson.

"Life isn't so bad, right?"

"Yeah.. I guess it isn't."

"Nope!"

Jessica giggles and Danny puckers his lips for her to kiss him.
