Two weeks later.

Dorothy has started therapy and is now actually making eye contact.  She still is not able to talk, and it's obvious she gets upset able not being able to do so.
Jessica has been sick lately, being at the hospital gets to her.  She's not able to eat or even sleep.  She's been very drained from the stress of everything as well.
Danny feels for her, and wishes there was more he could do for her.  A time they should be over the moon is filled with stress and sadness.

Jessica walked into the waiting room and buried her face in her hands.  Danny walked over and sat beside her, and placed his hand on her back.

"Did you get sick again?"

Jessica nods her head and Danny rubs her back.

"I'm sorry.  What did you eat?"

"Nothing!  I can't eat anything!  I had one of Grayson's crackers and I instantly got nauseous!" She says sitting back in her seat.

"I feel horrible."

Jessica rubs her eyes that now had bags underneath them.

"Do you think you could be pregnant?" Danny asks.

Jessica looks at him and for the first time that whole week, she gave him a smile.

"Do you?" Danny's eyes widen.

"I don't know!  I guess I haven't really thought about that.  My mind has been somewhere else.
Do you think I am?"

"I don't know, have you gotten your period?"

Jessica bites her bottom lip and nods her head.

Danny chuckles with excitement and kisses her head.

Jessica touches his arm and Danny says, "We're in the perfect place to find out!  Why don't you see when you could get an appointment for the doctor?"

"Maybe I will." She smiles.

Danny moves her hair out of her face and kisses her cheek.
"You'd be what?  Eight weeks?"

"Yeah. *Nods* But we don't know, so let's stop it."

"Okay.
.. Have you had any other symptoms?"

"I mean, I've been really drained, and I'm pretty bloated." Jessica touches her stomach.

Danny smiles and touch it.
"Maybe there's a baby in there!" He says in a cute way.

Jessica laughs and moves his hand away.

"Stop it, Daniel!"

He smiles and kisses her cheek.
"I'm sorry, I'm just excited."

"I just don't want you to get your hopes up and I'm not."

"If your not, it's okay.  We can try again.. Trying's fun." He smiles.

"Well that's true!" Jessica laughs.

Danny had to go to the office for a few hours, and that just happened to be when the doctor was available to see Jessica.

"Babe, let me tell them I can't go.  I'm the boss, I can do that." He smiles.

"No, just go, they need you.  Besides, I'm just going for blood work."

"Are you sure?  I'd hate to miss this."

"I'm sure.  I won't even know till they call me with the results."

"Alright.  Well I'll hurry up and get back."

"Okay.  Just be carful." She smiles softly and kisses his lips.

Jessica gets her blood work done, and goes back to see her mother.

"You're doing so well, mom!  I'm so proud of you.  Grayson is too, isn't that right, Gray?"

Dorothy looks at her and gives her a soft smile.

"Gamma, Gamma, Gamma! 
I lub you!"

Dorothy looks at him and lifts her hand and slowly opens and closes it.

"Good job, mom!  Grayson, she's waving at you!"

Grayson waves back and smiles big.

"She's doing so well!" Jessica tells her father.

"I know, I'm proud of her." Albert smiles at Dorothy and kisses her cheek.

Danny came back from work and rushed over to Jessica.

"Hey baby!" She smiles and kisses his lips.

"Have you heard anything?"

"They want me to go into their office."

"For an ultrasound, maybe?" Danny tries to contain his excitement.

"I feel like if I was pregnant they'd just tell me over the phone.. I'm kinda worried."

"Don't worry.. You're to beautiful to worry." He says moving her hair from her face.

Jessica rolls her eyes, and Danny laughs and kisses her cheek.

Jessica and Danny sat in the doctors office waiting to see the doctor.
Grayson was sitting with Jessica up on the examination table.

"Gray, you wanna sit with me so when the doctor comes in he can talk to mommy?"

"No! I stay wit mama!" He pouts and buries his face in Jessica's side.

She chuckles and rubs his back.

"It's okay, you can stay."

Jessica notices Danny's leg bouncing and asks, "Are you nervous?"

"No, why?"

"Because your leg is about to shake off! Heh, you're nervous! That's so cute!"

"A little bit.. I just hope it's what we think it is! You know, good news like this is good for your mother."

Jessica smiles softly and nods.

The doctor walks in shortly after and shakes their hands.  Danny takes Grayson from the bed and holds him on his hip.

"No, I want mama!" He fusses.

"It's okay, Danny.  He can sit right here.  Just be still, okay baby?"

He nods and sits beside her with a smile on his face.

"So.. Is everything alright?" Jessica asks nervously.

"Well Jessica, from your results, I'm sorry to tell you that you are not pregnant."

"Oh.." She looks down.

"I was a bit concerned though, because your symptoms sound very pregnancy related, which means you could have an ovarian cyst."

Jessica just closed her eyes and looked down as she let out a deep breath.

"Given your medical history, I'd like to do an ultrasound just to clarify, and if it is a cyst, I want make sure it isn't cancerous."

Danny tightened the grip on her hand as a rush of nerves flood though his body.

Jessica laid back and lifted her shirt for the ultrasound.

Jessica was heartbroken. She hoped she'd have an ultrasound today, but not like this.
She was very worried, because she and Danny wanted a baby so badly, and she already only had one ovary. Jessica worried that they'd have to remove the other one, and the hope that she and Danny had of having a baby of their own would be destroyed.

"What do you see?" Danny asks.

"Well it's definitely there. I'll have to do a transvaginal ultrasound to get a better look."

Jessica nods and lays her head back.
Danny looks at her and smiles.
"Hey.. It's gonna be okay. I'm sure everything is one hundred percent fine."

"I'm scared." She says beginning to cry.

Danny kisses her cheek and says, "We just need to pray.. Everything will be okay."

Jessica took her jeans off and the doctor threw a sheet over her.

Grayson, you wanna play with my phone?" Danny asks.

"Yeah!" He smiles.

"Okay, but you have to play down here, okay?"

"Okay!" He says lifting his arms up to Danny.

"Okay, deep breaths, Jessica.  Just try and relax your muscles, it will only take a few seconds."

Jessica takes a deep breath as the doctor sticks the ultrasound wand inside of her.

Grayson narrows his eyes and drops Danny's phone on the ground.

"Hey!  Get out!  Dat my Mommy's!"

Jessica couldn't help but laugh at him as he hits the doctor's leg.

"Grayson, stop that!" She laughs.

"It's okay, buddy.  I'm a doctor.  I'm just trying to make sure your Mommy's okay." He smiles.

Grayson doesn't crack a smile, and doesn't take his eyes off of him while he's performing the ultrasound.

"He's very protective of his mother, you're a lucky lady, Mrs. Huston."

"I know." Jessica smiles softly.

The doctor tells Jessica to sit up and she and Danny sit with worry.

"The cyst is not cancerous."

"Oh thank God!" Jessica lets out a deep breath and touches her chest.

Danny lets out a sigh of relief and wraps his arm around her and kisses the top of her head.

"If you'd like to remove it, we can, but if it's not doing any damage, it's okay if you don't.  It more than likely will dissolve on its own, and you will come in regularly so we can monitor it.  If you want to try getting rid of it with hormones, we can.  That would mean you taking birth control.  Now I know you two are trying to convince, so I would not recommend doing that.  But it's fully up to you."

"Would she be okay to carry a child?" Danny asks.

"Absolutely!  It's not doing any harm to her, and would not do any harm to the baby."

"Is there any chance at all of what happened the last time.. Happening again?" Jessica asks.

The doctor sighs and says, "Yes, but it's extremely unlikely.  I know it's hard not to, but don't stress.  You're in good health, it's not a problem right now, so just remember that.  Stressing while trying to convince is a big no no."

Jessica nods and inhales deeply.

Two days later.

Jessica was sitting in the room with Ann while their mother slept peacefully.

"Jess.."

"Hm?"

"Are you pregnant?"

"No, why?"

"Really?!  I really thought you were!"

"Why?"

"I saw you and Danny.  You touched your stomach, then he did.  Are you lying?" Ann smiles coyly.

"No, Ann!  I'm not."

"Sorry.. I didn't mean to upset you."

"It's okay."

"Is everything alright?"

"Yeah.."

"I'm here if you want to talk."

Jessica sighs and says, "I thought I was pregnant, and I'm not.  That's it."

"Oh.. I'm sorry, sweetie."

"It's okay.  It's not our time, it's fine."

Ann sat there without saying a word.  It was quite awkward, until Albert came in.

They talked for a while and Dorothy finally woke up.

Jessica stared at her father talking to her mother with so much love.  Dorothy turned to Jessica and lifted her hand.

Jessica smiles and walked over.

"Hi momma." She fixes Dorothy's hair.

Dorothy slowly brings her hand to Jessica's stomach and brushes the back of her fingers on her.

Dorothy moved her lips and breathes heavily.

Jessica looked at her mother with a worried look in her eyes.

"B...Baa-byy?" Is all Dorothy could mumble.

Jessica cries tears of happiness.

"Mom, you spoke!  Oh mom, I'm so happy!"

Dorothy smiles softly and asks again, "Baa..by?"

"No, there's no baby in there." Jessica nods with tears running down her cheeks.

"Soon." Dorothy smiles.

Jessica smiles at her mother and bends down to kiss her forehead.
