"I love you so much daddy! You're the bestest best daddy in the whole wide world!"

"Awe Grayson! That really makes me happy, bud. I love you more than you'll eve know, and I promise to be the best father I can possibly be."

Grayson smiles then goes back to hugging him as tight as he can.

"Awe.." Jessica touches her chest.

"Daddy, I'm gonna tell Fred! Put me down, daddy!" Grayson kicks his legs.

Danny puts him down and Grayson runs to his puppy.

"FRED!
Guess what! My daddy is gonna adopt me and be my real LEGAL daddy!"

He picks the puppy up and Fred licks his face.

"Haha! Look! Fred's so happy for me!" Grayson giggles.

"Awe! Yes he is, baby!" Jessica smiles.

Grayson turns to Jessica and runs as fast as he can.
Jessica picks him up and kisses his cheek.

"Thank you for finding me a daddy."

"Oh honey! I'm so so happy you're happy and that you love Danny as much as you do."

"Yeah.. I love Danny." Grayson looks at Danny and laughs.

Danny chuckles and Jessica says, "Well Danny loves you too!"

The three of them eat dinner while Nova is still sleeping.

"I can't wait to tell Nova!" Grayson smiles.

Jessica giggles and looks over to the baby in her swing sleeping peacefully.

"She's so sleepy! She must've had a fun day with grandma Dottie!"

"I bet!" Jessica chuckles.

"Momma, can I tell everyone that I'm getting adopted?"

"Let's just keep it between the three of us right now-"

"Four! I can tell Nova, she won't say a word, mommy!"

"Okay. *Chuckles* Let's just keep it between the four of us for right now. Maybe let mommy talk to the older boys first."

"Why?  Won't they be happy for me?"

"Oh sweetie, I'm sure they will! I just-" Jessica says as the front door opens.

"That's Sam!  Mommy, he'll be happy!  I'm gonna tell him!" Grayson quickly runs tor he living room.

"Grayson, wait!" Jessica jumps up and runs after him.

Jessica didn't know exactly how the boys would react.  She was especially worried about Sam's reaction.

"Sam guess what!"

"What, bud?" Sam answers not looking into his brothers eyes and more occupied with Samuel.

"Daddy is gonna adopt me to be his REAL son!"

"He's what?" Sam looks up.

"Grayson!" Jessica says but by the look on Sam's face she can tell she was already too late.

"Danny's adopting him?"

"I-I was gonna talk to you first, Sam."

"So like.. He's gonna be his father?"

"Yeah!  Aren't you happy?!" Grayson smiles with so much excitement.

"Yeah.. Yeah, congratulations, bud." Sam says grabbing the rest of the baby's things and heading upstairs.

Tiffany feels a bit embarrassed by Sam's actions so she gets down to Grayson's level and gives him a big hug.

"I'm so happy for you Grayson.  Danny makes a pretty great dad, huh?"

"Yeah!  He's the best!"

Tiffany smiles and kisses his cheek.

"What are you three doing home so early?  I thought you were having dinner with your cousin." Jessica says.

"We were but baby Samuel had other plans."

"What did he do?" Grayson asks.

"Pooped through everything! Even the carrier is covered."

"EWWW!" Gray makes a face.

"Yeah, Ew! I just don't get how someone so small can release something so powerful!"

"It happens!" Jessica laughs.

"Heh!  Yeah.. Well you two get back to your dinner."

"Okay.  There's plenty if you guys want any."

"Thank you but uh.. The smell of baby poop is all over me, I think I'm good till breakfast!" She laughs and Jessica does as well.

Tiffany walks over and hugs Jessica.

"I'm happy for you guys."

"Thanks.." Jessica smiles softly.

"Grayson, go finish your food, baby."

"Okay!" Grayson listens to his mother and runs off.

Jessica sighs and rubs her head.

"I wanted to tell him, I didn't want Grayson to tell him.  I knew he'd be upset.  It's difficult, I know that!  But that little boy is so happy." Jessica says as tears form in her eyes.

Tiffany rubs Jessica's arm and says, "Don't be upset.  Sam just.. It'll take some time, but he'll be okay.  You're right. I'm sure it is difficult, but he'll come around."

"I guess that's true."

"Danny is a great father, this is a good decision.  I'm sure Mr. Shepard would be very pleased."

Jessica smiles softly and says, "Call him Sam!  He always hated Mr. Shepard!" She laughs.

"He thought it made him sound old... You weren't old, Sammy... You were so so young." Jessica looks down as her voice shakes.

Tiffany gives Jessica one more hug and rubs her back.

"Don't be sad.. This is a happy night.  Go celebrate!" She smiles and motions towards the kitchen.

"Okay.. Thank you."

"No problem.  Oh and sorry for hugging you while wreaking of baby crap!"

"Haha!  It's okay, honey.  I'm so used to that smell by now." Jessica laughs.

"Everything okay?" Danny asks when she rejoins the table.

"Yeah! Everything's perfect." Jessica fakes a smile.

The next morning Jessica was downstairs making breakfast while Danny slept in. Nova was extra fussy this morning, so she had her in her baby wrap. As long as Nova was touching Jessica she was fine.

Sam was the first one to come down and he brought baby Samuel with him.

"Morning."

"Good morning." Jessica says before she walks over and kisses the baby.

"Morning, handsome boy! Did you sleep well?"

"Say No grandma! I don't like to sleep!" Samuel says in a baby voice.

Jessica chuckles. "Oh my goodness, Samuel! You need to let your mommy and daddy rest at night!"

"Yes he does!
.. Hey mom, about last night.. It was just all a shock, and I'm sorry."

Jessica looks to him over her shoulder for a second before turning back to the stove.

"I just want to know. Why? I'm fine with him calling him dad, and Danny helped out, but..to become a Huston? Ma, I don't know about that."

"Well Sam, it's not your decision."

"I don't have any say at all?"

"No. You do not." Jessica turns to him and slightly raises her brows.

"I don't like this at all."

"Well I'm sorry, Sam but-"

"No! No you're not sorry!" Sam stands up and raises his voice.

"Samuel! Quiet, you're scaring the babies!" Jessica says as they both start to cry.

"Mom, will you just think about what you're doing?"

"I have thought about it, Sam. Danny is what Grayson needs. He's so young and has never had a father. Yes Sam is and always will be his father, but he's Not Here! and Yes Danny's here but he's not Danny's and he knows that. This means so much to Grayson! Why can't you just be happy for your brother?"

"Because. I just can't." Sam stands up and leaves the room.

Jessica sighs and looks down to the baby who was rudely woken up from her slumber.

"I'm sorry, Nova.. Your big brother can be a jerk sometimes." Jessica lightly pats her back and kisses the top of her head.

Once breakfast was ready Jessica woke Grayson up to eat.

"Momma, where's daddy?"

"He should be down in a second, baby.  How's your breakfast?"

"Yummy!  Thank you, mommy!"

"You're welcome, precious."

Just then Danny walks downstairs.

"Look!  There's daddy!  Good morning!"

"Hey!  Morning, bud!  Whatcha eatin' good?"

"Mommy made my favorite!"

"EGGS!" He and Danny both say loudly.

"You got it!" Grayson giggles.

"Yeah!" Danny chuckles and turns to Jessica.

"Good morning, gorgeous!" Danny walks over to Jessica and kisses her lips.

"Morning baby. Did you sleep well?"

"Like a baby! Speaking of babies! How are you today, little cutie?"

"She's being a little cuddle bug this morning." Jessica smiles down to the baby.

"Awe!  Well Nova, I was gonna snatch you away from mama and give morning kisses, but you look so comfy right their on mommy's boobies.  They're nice, huh kid?"

"Daniel!" Jessica laughs and hits his arm.

"Not good, daddy." Grayson nods and sticks a piece of toast in his mouth.

"Sorry." Danny says as they both laugh.

"Sit down and eat, have some coffee." Jessica smiles softly.

"Thanks, honey.
Sam and Tiff aren't down yet?"

"No, Sam said they had a rough night with the baby."

"Really?  That little stinker!  I love him so much, babe."

Jessica smiles. "He's a cutie pie."

Nova makes a cute sound and Jessica looks down and chuckles.

"You're cute too, don't get jealous!"

"Little princess!" Danny smiles.

"She's fifteen weeks today, Danny." Jessica turns and small at him.

"Awe.  I can't believe she'll be four months next week!"

"I know!  Isn't that crazy?  You were just a little bean in my belly and now you've been out in this big world for almost four months!  You're growing way too fast, little miss!"

Nova coughs and Jessica quickly sits up.

Danny looks over and Jessica says, "She just spit up all over my boobs."

"Ohhh! Yucky!" Grayson laughs and runs his hands down his face.

"It's okay, precious. Don't cry, baby." Jessica says in a soothing voice.

"Well her face is in vomit.. I'd cry too." Danny says.

"Poor little bug! Mama's cleaning you up, darling. Boys, I'll be back. Hurry up and finish eating, Gray. It's almost time for school."

"Okay!"

Jessica leaves to take care of Nova and soon after Sam and Tiffany come down for breakfast.

"Can you just please not say anything, Sam? Don't ruin this for them."

"Ruin it for them?"

"Yes! Now go!" Tiffany points towards the kitchen.

"Good morning! There's grandpa's little buddy! Come here, Samuel!" Danny stands up and takes him from Tiffany.

"Good morning, sweetheart. Morning, Sam."

"Mornin.."

Danny plays with the baby making him giggle uncontrollably.

"You're just so full of giggles this morning!"

"He wasn't for us! But I guess you are super grandpa!" Tiffany smiles.

"Heh! Super grandpa? That's a cool nickname." Danny smiles and kisses the baby before lifting him in the air.

"I'm sure my dad would've been a great grandfather." Sam says.

Danny turns to him and says, "Of course he would be! Now, it's been nice hanging out with you all, but rotten teeth are calling my name." He chuckles and kisses the baby.

"Thanks for the playtime. Nova was attached to her mommy so I didn't get my baby time in for the morning!" Danny says handing him back to Tiffany.

"Say anytime, grandpa!" Tiffany smiles and kisses the baby.

"Heh.. You kids have a good day. Bye, Gray!"

"Bye daddy!" Grayson kisses his cheek and wraps his arms tightly around him.

"You be a good boy and have a good day at school."

"Okay! Have a good day at work!" He smiles.

"Thanks, bud." Danny messes with his hair before he kisses his head and says, "I'm gonna go say bye bye to mommy and Novies."

Danny leaves and Grayson smiles and points to him.

"He's my buddy!"

"You're such a cutie, Grayson!" Tiffany smiles.

"Hey baby, I'm leaving.  Ooh!" Danny smirks and walks closer to Jessica once he sees her in a bra.

"She spit up all over me!" Jessica laughs.

"Do that more often, Nova." Danny says wrapping his arms around her and grabbing her boobs.

"Would you stop that, Daniel!" She giggles.

Danny kisses her neck and slides his hands down to her stomach.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure!"

"Is Sam acting weird because of this whole adoption thing?"

"Acting weird?"

"Well he and Tiff were just downstairs and.. I don't know, there was this tension there."

"Ohh.." Jessica looks down.

"He's not okay with all of this.."

Jessica looks into his eyes and nods her head slowly.

"I'll talk to him.. I understand. I completely understand."

"It'll just take him some time.."

"I know. I just need to talk to him, I want him to know I have so much respect for Sam, and that I will make sure myself that Grayson always knows Sam.  I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but in a way I feel so close to him.  I feel like he's an old friend."

Jessica smiles softly. "Sammy made everyone feel that way."

She sighs and says, "Nova, tell daddy to have a great day at work!"

"Bye bye my precious little love! Daddy loves you!" Danny kisses her over and over again.

Jessica giggles and Danny kisses Jessica's lips.

"Bye honey, have a good day at work."

That evening James and Caroline were making dinner and everyone was going over to their house.  Danny was meeting them a little later.

"Mm! This is good, Caro!"

"Thanks, Grayson!"

"Hey I cooked too!"

"Good job, James!" Grayson high fives him.

James chuckles and Grayson turns to Jessica.

"Mommy, can I tell him?"

"You can tell him, baby." Jessica smiles.

"What's up, Gray?"

"Daddy is gonna adopt me so that I'm his real life son!"

Jessica giggles at his cuteness.

"Really?! Awe man, that's great! I'm so happy for you, little brother!"

"Thanks! I'm gonna have a daddy!"

"Yeah!"

"You already have one, Grayson!" Sam raises his voice before getting up and leaving the dinner table.

Tiffany looks at him in shock then rolls her eyes.

"I'm so sorry!"

"No.. It's fine.  He's just.. *Sighs* I'll go talk to him."

Jessica walks into the living room and sees Sam from the back.  He was sitting on the couch with his head in his hands.

"Sam."

Samuel doesn't acknowledge his mother.

Jessica sits beside him with his hand on his back.

"Hey... I know this is difficult.  But Grayson loves Danny.. and Danny loves him.  Just because he's adopting Grayson does not mean that Sam is not his father.  Grayson loves your father.  Even yesterday he said, Mommy daddy's happy for me.  He told me so.  Maybe you don't believe your father actually speaks to him in his dreams, but I do!  Okay?  Maybe it's hard to believe and it may sound silly, but I know that it's your father talking to him.
.. Samuel, I was unsure of this at first.. For the exact reason you probably are.  I didn't.. I didn't want to erase daddy from Grayson's life.." Jessica's voice shakes.

".. But I have to think of him.  Sam, all that little boy wants is a daddy.  I'm blessed to have met Danny.. He loves him so much.. I know this is the right decision.  He will never forget your father.. and he'll always be a Shepard."

"I'm sorry I just stormed out but.. I just-"

"OWW!"

Jessica and Sam jump up when they hear something fall and Grayson scream.

"Grayson?!" Jessica runs in and sees him on the ground next to the kitchen chair that was on the ground.

James picks him up then sits him on the counter.
He grabs his face and looks into his eyes.

"Did you hit your head?"

"No but I fell and I hurt my knee!"

"Oh Gray, that looks bad!  Caroline go grab the first aid kit."

"I want my daddy to fix it!  He's a Doctor!  I want my daddy!" Grayson cries.

"Awe my baby!  What happened?"

"That dumb chair!" He points before rubbing his red swollen eyes.

Jessica softly places her hand on his leg and Grayson moves it away.

"No!  No don't touch it!  I want my daddy to fix it!"

"Honey, daddy's not here."

"Then I'll wait!"

"Gray-" Jessica was interrupted by the doorbell.

"That's Danny." Jessica turns to James.

He goes to answer the door and Grayson shouts.

"That's daddy!  Tell him I'm hurt!"

"He'll fix you, baby." Jessica rubs his back.

"Hey!  What's going on in here?" Danny says walking in and seeing Grayson in tears on the counter.

"I need you to fix this!" Grayson points to his bloody knees.

"I fell!"

"You fell?  Oh no!  I'll fix it, buddy."

"He didn't let me touch it because daddy's a doctor." Jessica chuckles.

"Oh!  Haha, well!  That's very sweet, Grayson.  I'm sorry you hurt yourself, bud."

"It's that dumb chair." Grayson narrows his brows at the kitchen chair still on the ground.

"Stop saying that word." Jessica covers his mouth.

"Sorry.  Is my leg okay?"

"Your leg's okay!  I'm a pro." Danny smiles.

"I know that, that's why I only want You to fix it! That's what daddy's so." He smiles.

"Awe!" Danny kisses his cheek.

"I'm gonna put some of this on it just so it's clean and you don't get any germs in there, but it's gonna sting a little, okay?"

Grayson nods.

"Hold mommy's hand and squeeze it when it hurts."

"Okay.."

Danny sprays his leg and Grayson let's out a small whine.

"All done!  You're okay!  You did it, bud!" Danny smiles and high fives him.

"Yeah!  You fixed my leg!  Thank you, daddy"

"You're welcome, little guy!" Danny picks him up and gives him a long hug.

Grayson lays on him and Danny kisses his head.

"I love you, daddy."

"I love you more, bud."

Sam clears his the throat and says, "Danny."

"Yes?"

Sam swallows and walk over to them.

"Danny, Grayson.. Congratulations.  I know my father would be so happy that Grayson has.. That he has such an amazing step father.
..Grayson.. You're lucky to have Two amazing dad's, and I'm so happy for you.  Danny's a great man."

"He's a great man and I'm a great little boy!  Together we're really really great!"

"That's right, bud" Danny smiles and tickles him making him laugh uncontrollably.

I want to write more about James and Caroline, but I don't really know what to write about.  I don't want them having kids just yet.  What do y'all think?
