Lances pov

i walk over to one of the book shelves to grab a book, i see a boy in the section who looks odly familiar.

"um are you that one kid who hangs out with hunk?" i ask him, he turns to face me with a confused look.

"who?" he asks me, whm i could have sworn he looked exactly like that one guy, soon his face contorts into relisation.

"oh you must be talking about my twin sister katie gunderson" the male infront of me says, i feel realisation slip over me. oh... The two looked a lot alike, this Katie had longer hair then him, but they had the same glasses, and same coloured hair, their cloths style seems about the same as well.

"wait she was a girl?" i whipser to myself. the boy? girl? infrontof me laughs at my remark, i blush at the fact that they heard what i had said.

"yeah i knew, its kind of confusing to a lot of people. thats just her style" they says with a smile.

"matt gunderson" they say with a smile and sticks his hand out for me. i put my hand in theirs and shake it.

"lance mckein...are you a girl too or..." i mumble embarresed that i even had to ask such a question, they laugh a little and we both pull our hands back.

"no im a male, so what are you doing in the library?"he asks me, i smile and look at the books infront me.

"grabbing a book to use for studying." i reply and grab a book that might work.

"ah.. i see, first year cadet?"he asks me.

"second year, you?" i reply and ask all in the same setence.

" third year, im looking for something to help me and my mother. we both work in the lab." he says, then it clicked in my head.

"wait your that one kid who is super smart and works in the lab." i say with a new smile on my face.

"i didnt know they spread rumours about me here." he said and goes back to looking at books.

"everyone is looking out for special talent after the whole paladin thing here" i say with a laugh at the thought.

" im almost positive i am not paladin material." he says and grabs a book off the shelf.

"well i got what i needed, so might as well head out." he says with a smile.

"wait! um, can i have your number?" i ask the male, he smiles and nods at me. we walk up to the check out counter and he takes out a peice of paper and writes something down then hands it to me. the he checks out his book and i do the same.

"see ya later, lone wolf" he says and walks off with his book, i guess he knew the rumours about me as well. i walk out of the library and stop at the pictures hanging on the wall in the hallway, one picture captures my eye the most, keith kogane.

he was my favourit paladin out of all of them, his mullet was strange but what he did was so cool, i read all the bigrophys i could find on him and with what free time i had. i didnt have much free time as a kid. i spent most times trying to find work to do, or studying so i would be good enough. i brush the thoughts of my past away and just admired the great paladin before me, everything i read about him...never seemed to suprise me, it just made me happy.

i walk away from the pictures staring at each one, shiro, pidge, hunk, allura, coran....lance. in my distraction i feel two hands cover my eyes.

"guess who." i voice says,i instantly smile at the boy, his warm hands sending shivers down my spine and a warmth fill my stomach.

"hm... would it be yorak?" i question, useing his last name as a nick name.

"right you are mckein" the boys says and pulls his hands down, i turn around and see his hair pulled into a ponytail and his eyelashes having mascara on them, i feel an even larger smile take form on my face i knew exactly what this meant.

"axeca and avery are here!" i say with exitment and he smiles and nods.

" can i come by and see them tonight?!" i question with exitment in my voice. he laughs and nods.

"of course, you know they love you more then me." he says with a smile.

"uh yeah, i do face masks with them, i say with a smirk, anyway. how dose 6 work?" i ask, he nods and i run off to my room to get ready. i study for an hour then i grab my face mask stuff and run off to keiths room. i throw the door open and walk in.

When the girls on couch spot me they get up and run towards me with a smile.

" avery look its our favourit brother!" axeca says with a smile, the girls pull me into a hug and i hug them back.

" look what i brought" i say to keiths sister, and show them the face mask stuff, they both smile and get excited. keith walks into the room and shakes his head with a smile on his face.

" see i tolled you he was trying to be better then us" keith says with a smile, shiro walks in and laughs a little.

" i guess its a competition" he says, outside of class me and shiro actually know each other and get along a lot.

" its no competition, he automatically wins" avery says and grabs onto my arm.

"yeah" axeca says and grabs onto my other arm. i love keiths family, ever since i started at the garrison i have gotten close to them, and they seem to enjoy me as much as i enjoy them.

"i figured" shiro says. i feel a tug at my arm and see avery.

"come on, i wanna do face masks." she whines, i laugh and follow them to the living room. this is why i love hanging out with keiths family, i can let go, i can relax, and just...enjoy the moment instead of thinking of the future. we gossip, do make up, and watch netflix that night. i end up staying the night which is usual i even have a set of cloths that stay here for when ever i stay.

time skip

i feel a tap on my shoulder and see keith.

"hey lance, its 9:30 you got classes in like 30 minutes" keith says, i nod and sluggishly get up. i grab my spare cloths and walk into the bathroom, i clean myself up and walk into the kitchen with 20 minutes left to spare. i see shiro sitting there with a cup of coffee. i grab myself a cup and sit down next to him.

"you stayed the night?" i ask shiro, he nods and takes a sip of his coffee.

"yeah, it just...lonely, when ever adam is gone on a mission ya know."shiro says.

"i dont completely understand, but yeah i can imagine its lonely, isnt he due to come back in a few weeks?" i ask him, he sighs and leans back in his chair.

"yeah its always so hard when he leaves."shiro says, i pat his back and give him a small smile of pitty. keith then walks in and grabs his own cup of coffee.

"how long are the girls here this time?" i ask him as he sits down.

"just last night, they need to get back home for work and to study for their own school." keith responds and sits down.

"honestly i dont know how you get along with them, they are so tiring"keith mumbles and takes a sip of his coffee.

"my thoughts exactly"shiro says.

"you guys are whimps, you will never understand how awseome they are" i say with a smirk.

"and you ask us why lance is our favourit" axeca and avery walk in with smiles.

"thanks for the awsome night lance, its always nice to unwind with you" axeca says, and avery nods. they usually are serious girls, but when we get togther we all can usually unwind together.

"of course" i say and lift my cup in the air then pull it down to my lips to take a sip,my phone goes off and i stand up.

"thats my cue to exit, axeca, avery, it was loevely to see you two again next time text me when your comeing by dont let your brothers tell me." the girls nod and i give them hugs. i pull away and grab my phone.

"cya later keith and shiro." i shout as i leave the dormroom and run to mine to grab my stuff in my own dorm.
