Lances pov

We sat in a room, all of us together again...it was nice.

"So what do we do now?"pidge asks.

"What do you mean?"shiro asks confusion playing at his face.

"Well, the war is over, we don't have battles to fight....we kind of lost our purpose in life."pidge says with a shrug and fixes her glasses.

"Well Maybe we just need to make a new purpose for ourselves. Find a new meaning in life...and maybe this time we can be normal."I say. People nod and give hums of agreement.

We sit in silence, suddenly hunk breaks it.

"Um...have any of you....attacked? Anyone- not-not on purpose just...reflexes."hunk says a nervous look in his eyes, pidge and shiro give a nod and say they have. We talk for little when shiro brings up a topic we haven't talked about.

"Are we gonna try to bring back matt?"shiro asks pidge, she bites her lip and thinks about this for a second.

"No, I don't think so."she says. An eruption of 'why' erupts from everyone, even Keith who wore a bitter look at the mention of Matt.

"Well the memories aren't that great if I'm going to be honest, I'm sure it will be worse for him since he was captured by the galra, I'm sure somethings were great in our last life but, I wouldn't take this away from him, a new life, a new start, to live happily and normal...sounds kinda nice you know"pidge says with a shrug, the room goes silent before I speak up.

"Do you ever wish you never remembered...."I whisper out the noise shattering the silence like a hammer on glass. Everyone looks around at the others.

"Sometimes..."pidge mutters, after that hums of agreement from the others sound through the room.

"PTSD is my bitch."pidge says with a nervous laugh rubbing the back of her neck. A chorus of same erupts from everyone that is afterward met with laughs from the team.

Allura walks in the room muttering under her breath.

"What's wrong princess?"hunk asks. She looks at us an agitated look curving her eyebrows in a furrow and her lips into a frown.

"These new paladins are terrible, they can't bond together, they are way behind in their training, it's so infuriating working with them."allura says and flops into a chair of her own. Shiro looks like he's about to speak up but Keith cuts him off.

"Why do we even need more paladins the war is over."keith says looking at allura with an unamused face.

"We need to be prepared for anything, if something huge were to attack any planet we need a trained team, one that can quickly shut down the uprising before it can get out of hand."allura says, I let out a small ooohh.

"What if we helped train the new team?"shiro asks. Alluras face brightens at the idea.

"That's brilliant, yes it could actually work, all we have to do is have you prove who you were in the past which is easily done now through the brain scan the garrison created, then you could be given higher authority, better rank, you could advance through your classes as well, maybe even be commanders as well."alluras face lights up as she keeps going on. Everyone joins in they all get excited and put out their ideas, you can see all their faces shimmering with joy at the thought of proving whom they were, I just look around at them a discomfort crawling spiny my back making my chest weigh down. I quickly stand up drawing their attention to me and causing their conversations to stop.

"What happened to normal? What happened just living life? What happened to no more war, no more paladin stuff? I thought we were done with this?"I say looking at them each, you could see their faces slightly drop.

"Would you like that kind of publicity out, after you are confirmed as a great legend the people of this dark earth will follow your every movement with no consent, you will be tossed into the government without any choice, any past mistakes are more likely to follow, we may be prodded at for answers, forced to stick in tantalisingly long interviews just so we can describe our last and most painful moments of our past lives, once we enter the realm of proving to others who are there is no escape, you can kiss any form of normal life away! Do you really want to throw away a happy life where your secrets can be secrets and your days are filled with trivial activity's like just hanging out?!"I ask I could feel my blood start to boil at the foul thought, I could see everyone's faces slowly drain of that joy as well as the realisation sets in of what could happen if they agree to prove whom they were.

"If it comes down to it, we will prove ourselves...let's just hope it never comes down to it, for the universes sake."shiro says we all agree and continue our own things.
