Lances pov

I followed as Keith held my hand in his leading me outside of the garrison and to a desert. He keeps pulling me along till we enter a dark blue cave, carvings covered the walls, we go deeper down till we enter a big empty room. The cool air against my skin sending shivers of relief down my spine, I open my eyes and take in the whole room.

I stumble backwards and drop Keith's hand.

'We are so proud of you!'

'You are only here because our best fighter pilot had discipline issues.'

'Blue paladin'

'We do make a good team'

'Seventh wheel'

'My right hand man'

'Leave the math to pidge'

'The future'

'I love you.'

'veronica!'

'Leave it alone hunk!'

'Will you marry me'

'YAY!'

Once the words finished going through my head I look up and see that I was in the cave, the one where I first met blue, the first place Keith took me on a date, the place Keith even proposed.

I look over at Keith who has tears in his eyes and a smile on his face.

"Lance?"he questions holding one hand out to me. I feel a smile take over my face and run into my lovers arms, i knock us over and I land on top of him , our tears mixing and our laughter filling up the cave the joyful noise bouncing off the walls.

I lean my head down and kiss his lips, after that I kiss ever part of his face. Finally I stop and I just stare into his eyes.

"I missed you..."he says and he places one hand  on the back of my head in my hair.

"I haven't had any time to miss you..."I laugh dryly. Finally I stand up and lend my hand down for him to take it. He grabs onto it and stands up. He keeps ahold of my hand a smile playing at his lips.

"We do make a good team."he says keeping a strong grip on my hand. I chuckle at the fond memory and smile, just the presence of keith alone made my heart feel like it was being filled with air every second ready to explode when ever it pleased.

"So wait, How'd you know I was back?"I ask him as he pulls me close to his body holding me to him by my hips.

"Everyone jerks back and stares off into the distance for an unnatural amount of time."keith laughs.

"Wait, everyone? Who else is back?"I question.

"Everyone is back, you were the last..."Keith says. I feel like I had been slammed into a brick wall.

"That's why everyone was acting strange."I say the realization now fully taking effect. I can't help but laugh at how sourly I reacted to their strange behaviour.

I stared into his eyes, I it feels like I was just looking at his glistening irises while he held my hand on my death bed.

How strange this all felt, one moment I was laying on an uncomfortable cot in immense pain and the next....I'm looking into the eyes of the man I love with a whole new body, and new memories.

"I know we should go see the others...but I really don't want to share you right now."keith mumbles and lifts himself up enough to place his head in the crook of my neck, I bend down slightly and listen to him breath.

"Yeah, why don't we just stay here me and you..."I say in a hushed tone. We stand for a little enjoying the others company, that's when I get a brilliant idea. I start to sway slowly in the room as if music was playing. He joins me and we sway alone in an empty cave. We were an old married couple in teenage body's...it was weird to think but it was amazing, we had the burning love that takes years to create, and the exciting young bodies to enjoy life in and try new things. Maybe this time we will have a life together, no war, no constant fear of death...just us and our friends where our biggest worry is the bills.

As we sway my thoughts go to our past life. I started thinking about all the things I read in the book. I feel a frown pull at my lips but I continue to sway.

"Why did you kill yourself."I whisper to him, I feel him freeze up in my arms at the mention of his demise.

"Lance, I love you so much, and I was part galra so I was just gonna keep living in an old uncomfortable body while I wait every day to see you again,our kids were grown and getting old, I was terrified I would outlive them...so I decided to would just join you."he says to me and I feel his body loosen in my arms.

"Alright, just...don't do it again okay, please? I love you so much, I don't want you to do that to yourself, I can't change anything now....but I am here and I can keep a close eye on you, don't think I won't watch every move you make from now on."I say to him, he mutters an okay and I feel his head nod on my shoulder. While dancing I couldn't help but feel a laugh creep up my throat.

"Wow...I died and came back to life twice, not many people can say that."I say with a laugh. That's when Keith's pulls away and looks me dead in the eye.

"What?"he asks his voice stern. I could feel fear creep up my spine as it tickled the tip of it.

"I-i thought you heard about that..."I mutter and look to the side avoiding his eyes contact.

"When did you die?!"he asks his voice raised a bit.

"A long time ago, you were with the blade, I might have saved allura from an explosion...but it's okay, because quintessence saved me...yay."I cheer trying to get Keith to look at the bright side,instead his mouth hangs agape before it closes and he gives me a hard look.

"It's not all 'okay' what if you had permanently died! We never would have ended up together! Oh god, I wasn't even there to protect you!"keith says his words growing more frantic. I hush him and lean closer to him resting my forehead against his.

"We both made mistakes, but we can grow and be better from them....and this time we won't have to go it alone, I will stick by your side every step of the way."I whisper to him, he looks up at me tears in the sides of his eyes, he nods his head shakily and he presses his lips against my own. I melt at the familiar yet longed for feeling.
