32. Fury

Nico

Percy raised an eyebrow at the remaining three fighters, and I knew he was thinking about how easy it would be to end all of us here. He had the power to do that, and I knew the fight against him would've ended a long time ago if he actually put in 100%.

I looked at my dad, who was still pinned to the floor with Percy's scythe in his shoulder. He turned his head towards me, and I saw that my dad had lost all hope of defeating my cousin.

"Jason, Reyna, Frank. You three really think you can stop me?" The ex son of Poseidon twirled one of his knives between his fingers while scanning the three weary and weakened demigods.

"No. We don't think that." Jason shook his head, briefly closing his eyes. "We know we can't win. We're going to lose to you for a second time. But we knew this would happen. There's nothing we can do about it."

As he was talking, he stuck his hand out to me. I understood what he wanted, and I gave the son of Jupiter my sword. Jason lifted the sword and pointed it at Percy, a determined look on his face.

"I don't care if you kill me. But I'm sure as hell not going down without a fight."

Percy looked momentarily stunned, but then he recovered and gave Jason a genuine smile that sent chills down my spine. "Well said, like the Roman you are. I'll see what to do with you after I defeat you."

Reyna quickly turned to look at the three chained Gods behind her. "Can any one of you give Frank and I a weapon?" Ares and Hestia shook their heads, but Artemis said "Yes, I can. Take my hunting knives and the bow."

Reyna bent down next to the Goddess, taking the hunting knives as instructed. She also took the bow that Artemis had dropped on the floor, along with the quiver of arrows. Reyna gave Frank the bow, knowing that he was a good archer.

I didn't want to watch the fight. I didn't want to see Reyna, Jason and Frank fight a hopeless battle. But the three of them are Romans at heart, and they wouldn't give up so easily.

Before any of them could move, loud footsteps approached us. I turned to see a familiar blonde haired son of Apollo run towards us, a fierce look on his face. He was holding his celestial bronze sword in his hand, his bow slung over his shoulder.

Panic rose up inside of me at the sight of Will. He shouldn't be here, and now that he is, Percy would use him against me.

"Nico!" Will shouted, his eyes widening when he saw me. He skidded to a halt when he saw Percy, the fear in his eyes quickly replaced by anger.

"Let him go!" Will growled, tightening his grip on his sword hilt. "Let them all go!"

The King of Olympus chuckled and looked at me, amusement written all over his face. "Your boyfriend is as dumb as you, cousin." I glared angrily at him and snapped "Shut up!"

I then turned my attention to Will, curling my fingers into a fist. "You shouldn't have left the battle! What are you doing here?"

Will frowned, his eyes taking in the scene before him. "I had a feeling that you were in trouble. And I was right! Percy killed my dad, again! And I'm not going to let him kill you too!"

Tears stung my eyes as I shouted "Will, you don't understand! You have to get out of here! I'm not going to lose you, you have to leave! Percy will kill you!"

Before Will could answer, a cool voice interrupted us. "You killed Zoe, didn't you?" I looked back at my raven haired cousin, my heart sinking. Percy had taken a step towards Will, completely ignoring Reyna, Jason and Frank.

The son of Apollo gave Percy a haughty grin, further infuriating the already furious King of Olympus. "Yes, I did. And with the help of Clarisse and Phoebe. Oh yeah, wasn't Phoebe part of your army?"

Percy's hands trembled with rage as he clutched the hilt of his hunting knives, his knuckles turning white. His eyes turned pitch black and the ground rumbled underneath our feet.

"So you did kill my beloved. Well then. I'll just have to kill you." Shadows shot towards Will, and I screamed as the shadow tendrils wrapped themselves around Will's wrists and ankles.

"NO! STOP!" I cried as Percy stalked towards Will, a predatory look in his eyes. He stopped in front of the terrified son of Apollo and raised his knife, ready to plunge the blade into Will's heart.

As the knife slowly edged towards Will, a feminine voice shouted "PERSEUS!" We all turned to see Athena running towards us, Atlas right on her heels. They were both breathing hard, and their clothes were in tatters.

"More insects coming to play? Alright." Percy lowered his knives and backed away from Will, who breathed a sigh of relief. I sank back down onto my knees, my hand on my chest. If Percy killed Will, then I wouldn't know what to do.

"Sister! We have to retreat, we can't win against Perseus!" Artemis shouted to Athena. The grey-eyed Goddess analyzed the situation before her lip curled. "We can't retreat. Perseus won't let us."

"That's right." Percy smiled. "I certainly won't let you guys go. Especially not after you killed my Queen."

"She was a bitch anyways." Atlas snarled, aiming a spear at the King of Olympus. "I'm glad she's dead. One more obstacle out of our way. She wasn't even fit to be called a Queen."

Percy moved his hand, and a shadow spike rose from the ground to impale Atlas in the arm. The Titan growled in pain as Percy said softly "Don't disrespect Zoe like that. How pathetic, insulting someone who is already dead?"

Atlas tried to rip his arm free, but the shadow spike stayed firmly in place. Golden ichor ran down his skin.

I once again tried to free myself from the chains holding my legs to the ground, but my efforts were useless.

Athena hurled her spear at Percy, but he vanished into thin air, the spear embedding itself into the wall. Percy appeared behind Athena and kicked her in the back, sending her to her knees with a pained gasp.

"This is awfully boring." Percy commented as he grabbed Athena by her hair and yanked her head back. He put his knife against his throat and looked around at the defeated group.

"Kill me already." Athena rasped, her hand going up to grab the hilt of Percy's knife. My cousin glanced down at her before laughing and pushing the Goddess' hand away.

"Oh no, I'm not going to kill you. I am in need of more slaves." Athena's eyes widened in shock before Percy ruthlessly slammed the hilt of his knife on her head. The Wisdom Goddess crumpled to the ground, unconscious.

"Jake." He said quietly, and instantly a young man appeared with a burst of flames. He looked at us before a smile appeared on his face. "So you defeated them, My Lord?"

"Not quite. Take the Goddess to the cells downstairs. I'll put her to work eventually." Percy nudged Athena's limp body with his foot. Jake bowed slightly before grabbing Athena by the straps of her armour and dragging her off.

Percy returned his attention back to Jason, Reyna, and Frank. He opened his mouth to say something when Frank quickly lifted the bow and shot an arrow at him.

Percy simply raised his hand and caught the arrow, throwing it aside. Frank slid another arrow onto the string of the bow and aimed it at him once more.

"What good will that do? You've seen what I can do." Percy huffed. Jason exchanged a look with Reyna before the two of them charged forwards, their weapons out and ready.

"No, stop! Perseus will kill you!" Will shouted as he struggled to free himself from the shadow tendrils holding him. His face was full of anguish and hopelessness.

Reyna reached Percy first, and she stabbed at his chest. The demi-primordial dodged, but Jason quickly sank his sword into Percy's arm. Percy's eyes narrowed before raising his arm to block another attack by Reyna. He punched her in the chest, knocking the Roman back.

Percy ducked to avoid a kick from Jason, and my cousin ripped the sword out of his arm. Silver blood spurted from the wound, but Percy ignored it as he threw the sword onto the ground.

Jason scrambled to scoop it up, and Percy advanced on Reyna, who was still recovering from the brutal punch he had given her. But before the King of Olympus could reach her, an arrow struck Percy in the hand, earning an annoyed growl from the former son of Poseidon.

Reyna took the opening and lunged forwards, trying to stab Percy in the neck this time. And to my horror, Percy's hand stretched out and grabbed Reyna's wrist, twisting it viciously so that a loud crack echoed throughout the hallway.

Reyna cried out in pain before she silenced with a swift elbow to her temple. The Roman dropped to the floor like a sack of potatoes.

"Reyna!" Jason shouted before he too was silenced with a knife embedding itself into his thigh. The son of Jupiter hissed and sank to the floor, his hands grabbing the hilt of the knife that was stuck in his thigh.

Percy glanced back at Frank, who was still standing with Artemis' bow in his hands. He swallowed when Percy looked at him, and he raised the bow again. "No point." Percy snapped his fingers, and chains wrapped around Frank's legs, dragging him down to the floor.

"You all shouldn't have tried to fight me a second time." Percy said, addressing all of us. "But I must say, it was a commendable effort."

Percy turned his gaze on Atlas, who glared angrily at him. "I have no use for you. I certainly don't want to turn you into a slave."

"You piece of-" Atlas didn't get to finish as Percy hurled his remaining knife at the Titan. The hunting knife impaled Atlas in the throat, and his body disappeared into thin air.

Percy exhaled before smiling coldly at the rest of us. I couldn't stop the tears from flowing down my cheeks.

We shouldn't have even tried to fight this monster.
