Zoe
I lay next to Percy on the bed that we share. He had his arm around my waist and my head was leaning on his shoulder. We were enjoying our moment of relaxation until Percy suddenly sat up, startling me so much that I almost fell off the bed.
"What the Hades!" I yelled but Percy put a finger to his lips. I quieted down and my boyfriend called out "Who is it?"
It was silent for a few seconds before the voice of Ethan said "Our spy has received some very important information that we must discuss about. Sorry if I'm disturbing anything-"
"You aren't. I'll meet you in the throne room." Percy slid out of bed and stood up, moving over to the closet and opening the drawers. I waited for the sound of Ethan's footsteps to retreat before I stood up as well, scowling. "You scared me!"
"Sorry love. Had to see who it was first." Percy pulled on a white t-shirt before he closed the closet and walked over to the door. "I have a feeling I know what the spy's report would be about."
"Of course." I grumbled as I followed my boyfriend out of the room and down the hallway. We entered the throne room, and I saw that all of the demigods from Percy's army was standing in rows facing our thrones.
One lone figure dressed in a black cloak stood at the centre of the line. They had their hood up so I couldn't see their face. But when Percy saw the figure, he smiled and strode over to his throne, turning around and sitting down on it. I huffed and walked over to my throne.
Once we were seated, the cloaked figure said "Lord, you already know what I'm about to say."
Percy pressed his lips in a tight line and he made a weird hand gesture. I opened my mouth to ask what he did before the cloaked figure nodded and reached up, pulling down it's hood.
My mouth dropped open in shock at what I saw. Standing before me was a familiar female with long, ginger coloured hair that was braided down her back. She had a bow in her hand and a quiver of arrows over her shoulder.
"Phoebe." I whispered in shock. Phoebe was one of the Hunters of Artemis many years ago before she fell in battle. She was one of my closest friends and I grieved over her for many years.
The formerly deceased Hunter turned and looked at me with a small smile. "Zoe Nightshade." I jumped off of my throne and rushed forwards, throwing my arms around Phoebe and burying my face in her neck.
The hunter dropped her bow and wrapped her arms around me as well, squeezing me hard. "I've missed you, sister."
"I've missed you too. How, when-" I broke away from Phoebe to glare at my boyfriend who was still seated on this throne. He had his chin resting against one hand and he was watching Phoebe and I with an amused expression.
"How is this possible!?" I shouted at him. "Why didn't you tell me that you've brought Phoebe back from the dead?"
Percy exhaled slowly before he shifted until he had his arms crossed against his chest and his back against his throne. "I brought Phoebe back from the dead after I've taken control over Olympus."
"That was.....that was about five years ago! Why didn't you tell me the instant you resurrected her!?" I clenched my fists, boiling in anger at not being told that one of my closest friends had been brought back.
Percy's expression stayed blank at my outburst. "I have my reasons. I didn't want you to know yet. I kept Phoebe's identity a secret, not even telling my army about her until a couple of months ago. I recruited her to be our spy, since she's an excellent hunter and tracker."
"So basically you've told everyone else about Phoebe but not me until now." I said. Percy tilted his head, his cold, sea green eyes studying me. Then after a few tense moments, he nodded slightly.
I didn't move, I took time to digest all the information that Percy has told me. Phoebe was beside me, and out of the corner of my eye I could see her bend down to pick up her bow again.
Then I moved. I lunged forwards, my hand going to my dagger sheathed at my waist. I pulled it out and stabbed forwards, intending to inflict some kind of pain on my infuriating boyfriend.
But before I could even touch him, Percy moved as well. He slipped to the side, dodged underneath my arm and he spun, grabbing my wrist to stop my attack and pinning my body against his.
He bent down to whisper into my ear. "I'm sorry for not telling you earlier, but I wanted you to be level-headed when we're dealing with Olympus and trying to fix everything up. You know I have my reasons for everything."
I scowled, my heart beating painfully hard against my ribcage. I lifted my gaze to the throne room and saw that Percy's army had all reacted when I lunged at my boyfriend.
They had all unsheathed their weapons and were pointing it at me. Even Phoebe had her bow aimed at me, her eyes narrowed.
"At ease." Percy commanded. I watched in some awe as everyone lowered their weapons at the same time. Phoebe shouldered her bow as well and looked at me, her gaze softening.
Percy released my wrist and stepped back, his hands out and ready to defend himself if I attacked him again. But I merely sighed and slid my dagger back into my sheath.
"I see." I said. "Well, thanks for bringing my best friend back." Percy nodded and I stepped up to him, reaching up and kissing him on the cheek. Before I turned around, Percy muttered "If you do want to attack me, save that for training."
I flushed red and Percy smiled slightly as he walked back over to his throne and sat down. Everyone went back into the single file line and Percy said "Now that's over, Phoebe, tell me about my dear cousin."
"Yes sir. Nico Di Angelo has returned from Tartarus and he's brought Hades, Artemis, Athena, Apollo, and Atlas with him." Percy's eyes narrowed hatefully as Phoebe spoke, and when she finished my boyfriend was clutching the armrests of his throne so hard that his knuckles turned white.
"I'm not surprised, I must say. This fight against my cousin and his army will be very interesting." Percy moved his arm so that his chin rested on his palm once again. "I wonder if Atlas will agree to hold the sky in Zeus' place once Nico tells him the plan."
"I doubt that he will, my lord." Phoebe said, tossing her braid over her shoulder as she shifted the bow to a more comfortable position. "Titans are prideful, just like the Olympians. Atlas won't agree to that."
"It would be better if Zeus stays under the sky then. He's a pain." Percy tapped his fingers thoughtfully on the throne's armrest before he continued "Is that all, Phoebe?"
Phoebe paused for a moment before she nodded in confirmation. "Yes, that's all my Lord." Percy smiled thinly and he waved his hand in a dismissive gesture. Phoebe bowed before leaving the throne room without another glance back at me.
Percy opened his mouth to speak but I said "I'm going to have a chat with my long lost sister." Percy raised an eyebrow before he merely dismissed me like he did with Phoebe. I rolled my eyes and practically ran out of the room.
I caught up with Phoebe in the hallway that led to the throne room. The ginger haired huntress was walking briskly down the hallway to the elevator at the end of the corridor.
"Sister!" I called, and I watched as Phoebe stopped in her tracks. She turned to face me, her expression neutral. "Is there anything I can assist you with, My Lady?"
I frowned, confused at why Phoebe was addressing me like that. "Why did you call me that? I'm still your sister and your best friend. You know you don't have to address me like you address Percy."
"You are still the Queen of Olympus, are you not? Therefore I must address you properly." Phoebe shouldered her bow again, and continued "Like I said before, is there anything-"
"Yes. Yes there is." I said, interrupting her. "Why did you accept Percy's offer to be his spy? I know you hated males as much as I did. And you know you would be going against our old mistress."
Phoebe raised an eyebrow. "Why did you decide to join Perseus then? Why did you accept to be his wife?" I hesitated, and Phoebe's lips curved up in a small smile. "You have your reasons, I have mine."
"Okay, fair enough. Overall, I'm just glad you're back." I said, stepping forwards and wrapping my arms around Phoebe. The huntress stiffened before she hugged back.
Percy was full of surprises, that's for sure.
