I grabbed a blank piece of paper. On it she wrote several times,

The teacher, Grapevine, grabbed it and looked at it. She didn't even let me finish my word! How rude. "Maybe you want to do a presentation on stoats, Purplestars?" Stoat was looking straight at me, confused. 

"SCARTALON! DETENTION!" Grapevine roared. Scartalon looked extremely startled. He looked very sad as he stood up and walked to detention.

Poor Scartalon, I thought. He never gets detention. I buried my nose in my favorite scroll. The title was faded out, but it was about Darkstalker and Clearsight. 

When I got back to my cave after class, I turned on my music playlist and did my homework.

It's a quarter after one

Said I wouldn't call, but I lost all control

The song played on. I didn't even hear Stoat walk in. "Hey," He said. "What happens when you put weird and normal together?" He asked.

"Emo." I replied.

Stoat laughed. "Yes. Indeed."

It's a quarter after one

The song continued.

"Why are you listening to sad songs?" He sounded genuinely concerned.

"Idk." I respond in the acronym form.

"Hey, Stars," he said.

"Yeah?" I murmured.

"There's this girl," He started.

"Okay..."

"And I really like her." He said.

"Okay..." I looked up at him.

"And I was thinking about asking her to be my girlfriend. What do you think?"

And when I saw the look in his eyes, I knew he meant me.
