A sea of orange rolled in on me this morning. Having been in the Navy, I had seen the sea with waves of blue and waves of green. I had even seen the sea with white cap waves. But this was the first time I had seen a sea of orange. What a beautiful sight it was to my eyes. Wave after wave they came.
In the middle of my land locked property the orange sea descended. With hammers, pry bars, wrenches, saws, ladders, and a truck load of materials, they came. They washed over my land like an Army. Ready to wage war on my home which was in desperate need of repair.
I never had felt the kindness of strangers on this level in my life. Each individual treated me as if I were a long lost friend or relative.
I had seen news reports of community outreach programs before, but until I saw it with my own eyes, well I still can't believe it's happening for me.
A sea of orange rolled in on me this morning and I am thankful to have seen it.
