Chapter 6: Servant for the Day

~Rose~

I woke up to pecking at the window, I looked up to see a familiar horned owl at the closed window next to my bed.

"Someone tell that owl to go away!" Marissa Gordan, one of my three other roommates cried out, smashing his head into her pillow,

"Yeah! Some people need their beauty sleep, I don't just wake up like that!" Bianca Kennedy said, lifting up her pink glittery sleeping mask off her eyes.

"Shut up Bianca! It's time to get up anyway," Kelly Roberts said, finishing tying up her tie, "I'm going to head down to the Great Hall for breakfast, anyone coming?"

I shook my head, "I'll meet you there later,"

Shivering as I slipped out of bed, opening the window, I took the note attached to the owl's feet. Unwrapping the note, I read;

Good luck being my servant for the WHOLE DAY! ~ S.M.

Sighing I got dressed and walked downstairs.

"What's going on?" I asked, looking over at the crowd of people gathering at the corner of the common room.

"They posted the Quidditch results! Come look!" Farrah called to me,

I rushed over excitedly, peering over at the list.

2022 Gryffindor Quidditch team

Seeker- James Potter

Keeper- Logan Holman

Seekers- Farrah Hayes, Eleanor Parker, Rose Weasley

Beaters- Fred Weasley, Lily Potter

"Yes!" I cried, throwing my arms in the air, "I got in!", I smiled as I acknowleged that it was still the same three chasers. We work well together and I'm glad that James did not tear it apart.

"Wait a second, more than half of the team are Potters and Weasleys!" Jayden cried, "The captain must be biased on choosing seeing he chose three of his family members on the team!"

"You're just mad that you didn't get on the team!" Hugo exclaimed, standing up next to me,

"Says a Weasley, I bet next year, if you try out, you'd get on the team too, just because you're a family member of the captain!"

"First of all, I would never try out for a sport as childish and dangerous as Quidditch," Hugo got that from Hermione, who too hated Quidditch, "Second of all, did you see how determined James is at winning, he would never in a million years choose someone who is incompetent or may jeopardize his team from winning!"

"That's what you think," Jayden sneered, walking closer beside him so that she is looming over him. "And when you lose this year, you will all regret not putting me on the team. You all better watch out," She looked at me, "Especially you, Weasley, you took my rightful place as chaser. Prepare to regret that."

I gulped, this is certainly an interesting way to start a morning.

~Scorpius~

"What are you smiling about?" Albus asked, milk dribbling down his chin as he scooped in more spoonful of cereal into his already full mouth.

"You'll see," I said, my eyes focused at the door, awaiting a certain redhead, the words barely left my mouth as Rose strode into the Great Hall, her face contorted in anger.

"Hey Rosie! Sit over here!" I shouted, knowing that she has no other choice. The surrounding Slytherins gaped at me,

"Bad enough that you're friends with a Gryffindor, but now you're inviting them to join our table?!" Hissed a dark-haired girl sitting across from me but I ignored her.

Groaning, Rose made her way over,

"Over here Rosie," I said cheerfully, patting the space between me and Albus,

"Hey, you never sat with us all the other times we asked, what's changed about this time?" Albus asked,

"Change of heart," I said at the same time as she said,

"Lost a bet,"

"Ah, makes sense, so is the bet just that you have to sit at the Slytherin table or..."

"No," I said at the same time as Rose said,

"Yes,"

As Rose continued to be glaring at me, I continued, "You see, we bet that whoever lost, have to be the other's servant for the day,"

Albus' eyes went as round as the moon, "You won?" I nodded, "No way! Today is going to be so much fun!"

"Definitely, anyways, Rosie?" She turned to face me, her scowl not leaving her face. I handed her my spoon and bowl of cereal, "Now feed me,"

The look on her face was priceless, her jaws dropped, eyes wide, closing her mouth, she grinded her teeth for a moment before saying, "Of course Scorpius," Smiling I thought, oh great, she's probably going to kill me tonight in my sleep.

"You know what, today, call me Lord Scorpius, have a nice ring to it, doesn't it," I said smugly, Rose narrowed her eyes into slits. Yep, she's definitely going to kill me.

"Of course, Lord Scorpius," She said through her teeth, her face murderous. If I wanted her to like me, I shouldn't be doing this thought one half of my brain. But this is too hilarious to stop, argued the other half. You can probably guess which half won.

After feeding me a few spoons, I held up my pointer finger to stop her, "Actually," I said plopping a pile of books into her arm, "Why don't you take my books and save me a spot in Potions next to you,"

Letting out a huff, Rose leaned towards me so that her lips were mere centimeters away from my ear, "Tomorrow," She whispered, "You're dead,"

I laughed nervously pretending that it seemed that she was just whispering something funny to the people around us.

Once she was out of earshot, Albus patted my back, "Nice knowing you fella," He said, "I'll be there for your funeral,"

"I'm finished with your Herbology essay," Rose said dully, handing me back the fourteen inch essay on underwater plants.

"Thank you," I said looking it over. After an eventful day of her basically doing everything for me, carry my books, doing my homework, feeding me. We decided to reside in one of the many abandoned classrooms in this hallway after dinner where I smashed mashed potatoes in her face.

"You do realize that this is cheating, right?" Rose said, crossing her arms across her chest, giving me a stern look.

"Not if no one finds out," I said cheekily, "Now I want to practice duelling spells, be my partner,"

"No- ugh, fine," She said, standing up, taking her wand out of her pocket, "At least I can send you through a wall during that,"

"Oh it's on," Moving all the furniture out of the way, we got ready to duel,

"Are you sure we're allowed to do this in here?" Rose asked nervously,

"No one else is using this classroom right now and classrooms are used for learning and practicing magic," I said, gesturing to the empty classroom we are currently vacating.

She shrugged. After bowing low to each other, I decided to strike first, "Impedimenta!" I shouted,

"Protego," She said, blocking it with ease, "Stupefy!"

I ducked down, just missing the spell by a hair, "Expelliarmus,"

She blocked it without even uttering a word, "Petrificus totalus!"

This time to slow to react, the spell hit me straight in the chest, causing me to freeze up, unable to move,

Smirking she said, "Expelliarmus," And my wand soared gracefully through the air, landing directly into her hand. "Ha, I win. Wow, that was the quickest and easiest round ever, you must be losing your touch, Malfoy."

"Uhfritz muh," I attempted to say, though my mouth was frozen shut, "Oonfreeze muh!"

"Huh?" She flashed me a devilish smile, bringing one hand up to one of her ears as if she can't hear me, "I'm sorry, I don't understand you. And I can't follow your instructions if I can't understand you," She paused then added, "Lord Scorpius,"

"Yoo fukin itch!" I cursed at her but she just laughed,

"A little payback after everything you did today," Rose said, tucking the two wands safely and securely into one pocket and pulling out a quill from the other. Dipping it into dark black ink, she tapped her chin thoughtfully, "Now what should I write on you?"

"Nuh! Nuh!" I screamed out the best I can,

Rose smirked, "Oh this is going to be fun,"

"Hey Scorp- woah, what happened?" Albus said as I walked back into our common room an hour later,

I pointed to my forehead where five words were imprinted onto it, reading it out loud I said, "Never mess with Rose Weasley,"
