All three of us still inside the cave, and it looks as though we might be stuck until morning. The whole in the top of the cave had closed over. My mermaid tail is yet to have gone away and I am starting to get worried. Victoria is still unconscious, Victor is still trying to wake her up, and I am sitting up against a wall trying to figure a way out. But is doesn’t make sense. The Moon spring has already turned Tori into a mermaid, what else could it possibly want?

“I’m having no luck.” Victor says as he moves away from his sister and props her up against a wall.

“Do you think she will wake up soon?” I ask him.

“I couldn’t tell you.” Victor said as he then sits down beside me, on my left side, against the uneven crystal wall of the cave. “But there is something you can tell me.” His voice turned serious, almost angry. “What the hell happened to my sister?!”

I hung my head to escape his angry stare. I didn’t know how exactly to explain something this bizarre to Victor without sounding like I belong in a mental institution.

“Victor, you have to understand that I don’t know much about this myself.” I spoke in a stern voice, he needed to know that I wasn’t misleading him in any way, “But I can tell you what I do know.”

I went on to explain what I had saw when I transformed, how I didn’t wake up until that next morning. I told him that I could control all of earth’s elements, about the necklace I found, the close calls I have had. Everything I could recall I had told him.

“I see” Victor had started when he finally began to process everything I had told him, “But it seems as though you missed one huge detail.” I arched my brow, what could he know that I didn’]\[, “When you and my sister were floating above the water, you yourself had transformed into something else.”

“What do you mean?” I ask nervously.

“It was like you had a whole other from. You had two legs, your hair was blonde with green steaks, and you wore a white and green outfit. You also held a silver staff.” Victor then paused, I saw his gaze move down the side of my body and stop at around the left side of my bellybutton. “But it looks like the one thing I didn’t notice… you have a tattoo.”

“What?” I looked down to where Victor was looking and saw it. It was a picture of leaves. Three bright green leaves and four small vines that have grown out around them. “No way…how is this possible?” I stared in awe at the small picture that now graced the side of my torso. It really is a lovely little thing, but what does it mean? “Hey Victor.”

“Yeah what’s up?”

“Is there a tattoo on your sister?” his face looked questioning. Victor got up and went back over to his sister. Victor lifted up his sister’s shirt, but saw nothing. Something was telling me she had a tattoo of her own.

Then I felt a burning sensation on my upper back. “Victor, check her upper back.” I told him. I put my hand over my back to see if there was anything on my back, but there wasn’t it was so weird.

“Rochelle! You might want to see this!” Victor said in a really anxious voice.

“I gladly come over there…IF I HAD LEGS!” I exclaim to Victor, he just rolls his eyes. Victor picked up his sister and brought her over to me. And then I saw it, a small droplet of water. Her tattoo was of a droplet of water landing in a small puddle of water. It was very pretty and very detailed, much like my own.

“So if your tattoo is of leaves and you control the earth, is it possible the Victoria controls water because of the water droplet tattoo?” Victor asks me.

“I guess it could be possible,” I say as I admire the tattoo that is now on my friends back, “But I wouldn’t jump to conclusions just yet. Even I don’t know much about this stuff yet.”

“And yet you’re the one with the tail.” Victor mocks. Haha, very funny!

Hours have passed by and I still see no way out. The only light that is illuminating the cave is the small glow of the flashlight that Victor had brought with him. I had tried many times to create a small ball of energy, but to no avail. It seems as though that whenever I transform into a mermaid, I have no control over my energy; that means no energy blasts and I can’t sense anyone.

I guess that it is now 3:00am, Victor is fast asleep next to his sister and I am still barely awake; hoping that someone is to find us soon. Then just as I was about to fall asleep, I heard the water begin to ripple. My eyes darted open to see what was disturbing the water in the moon spring. I then saw a head begin to rise out of the water…no two heads!

Even through the darkness I could see that one head was covered in blue wavy hair with three golden star clips, the other had straight green hair. The two figures looked quite familiar, but where have I seen these two before? Wait a sec…HOW DID THEY GET IN HERE?!?

“Who goes there!” I whisper-yell into the darkness of the cave.

“Don’t you know?” a familiar female voice said, “It’s Hanon and Rina!” Hanon had exclaimed.

“Oh…hey guys…what’s up?” I ask weakly as I try to stay awake.

“Rochelle, you don’t look well.” Rina said as she and Hanon pulled themselves out of the Moon Spring and out onto the land.

“I don’t feel that well either.” I retort a little more harshly than I meant it to sound.

“We should get you all out of here soon. It looks as though Victoria isn’t doing so well either.” Rina says as the two mermaids transformed into their idol forms so now they had legs to carry Victor, Victoria and I back to the water. Once all of us were moved, Hanon and Rina transformed once again into mermaids.

Rina had put Victor on her back and Hanon had put victoria on her back. The two mermaids asked me if I was able to swim on my own and I told them I should be able to manage. We all slid into the water; I created two air bubbles, one for Victor and one for Tori. We submerged and I followed Hanon and Rina until we reached a small opening towards the floor of the spring. We swam through and then we finally saw some light.

Once we had broke the surface of the water, I took in a large sharp breath.  Being able to take in some fresh air was a great feeling, it was starting to get kinda stuffy in that cave. I look over to see that all of my friends have surfaced safely, somehow Victor is yet to have waken up.

“We should swim to shore quickly. It seems as though Victoria will wake up soon.” Hanon observed as the sleeping girl on her back started to stir. As we swam back towards shore, I couldn’t help but remember what Victor had told me.

“But it seems as though you missed one huge detail. When you and my sister were floating above the water, you yourself had transformed into something else.” What could that ‘something else’ have possibly been?

We had finally reached shore. Hanon and Rina got their legs back and carried the two unconscious teens to a spot under a large palm tree. I scooted myself over to a fairly large rock that I then pulled myself unto. Hanon and Rina then walked back over to my location.

“There seems to be something that is troubling you Rochelle. What is it?” Rina asked me as she came to sit next to tail.

“It’s nothing Rina…really.” I say as I give Rina a warm smile. My gaze then travels down the length of my tail. I have tried my heating it up, but I’m still half fish.

“But I still have one question for ya.” Hanon says as she strokes her invisible go-tee on her chin, “Why are ya still half fish?”

“Hanon!” Rina exclaims, surprised at what her friend had just said.

“I have no idea…” I say as I trail off.

“Well, considering that you and your friend had fallen into the moon spring tonight; the reason is one two possibilities. Either you transformed into some unknown mermaid form or…” Rina bit her lip not wanting to say what the next possibility is.

“Or what?” I ask nervously.

“Or your stuck like this forever.” She said plainly.

I wanted to cry at the possibility. I wouldn’t ever be able to see my friends again. I would still be able to see Tori, but only once in a while. I would never be able to see Bulma, Vegeta, Trunks, Chi chi, Goten, Ox king, anyone! I would never be able to see Gohan again…

Hanon then walked over to me and sat next to me. She placed a hand on my shoulder and the she shot a glare at Rina. “Rina, I’m sure that there is another explanation.” She said trying to calm me down.

“Wait,” I said to both girls. “You see that boy over there,” I pointed over to Victor, “He told me that when I was caught in the moon spring with Tori, I had transformed into something else. I wasn’t a mermaid and I wasn’t in my idol form!” I exclaim now realizing that I am not stuck as a mermaid.

“That’s so cool!” Hanon exclaimed jumping into the air and fan-girling around.

“WAIT, VICTORIA WAS IN THE MOON SPRING!” Rina exclaimed. Hanon stopped basically mid air and I just sat there wide-eyed not knowing what to say next.

“uh…yes…” I say weakly.

“Oh Kami, this is not good!” Rina says as she begins to spastically pace around the beach.

“Are ya sure?” I say. Rina then stops mid step, “Because I think she was supposed to be transformed.” I point to the tattoo that is on my side and then I point towards Victoria, “Check her right shoulder blade.”

Rina walked over the unconscious girl that sat next to her brother. She knelt down and moved the sleeve of her shirt over enough to see the tattoo. Even through the darkness I could see the surprised expression on her face. “I can’t believe it...” Rina said a she began to walk back over to us, “She’s the second princess that we are looking for.”

“No way…My best friend is a mermaid princess!” I exclaim. Just then I could see the figure of my best friend start to move. I saw her eyes dart open and she then bolted up from her position against the tree.

“What happened!?” Tori exclaimed when she finally came to grips.

“It’s a long story!” I yell to her. Then I begin to feel a tingling sensation all throughout my legs. My tail was fading! I finally had my legs and my little monkey tail back! YAY!

“I’ve got time.” Tori says as she stands up off of the sand covered ground. I went on to tell her about the events of tonight, then Rina began after I had finished.

“Now I have something to tell both of you. Those tattoos that the both of you now have, they mark you both as a special kind of Mermaid Princesses. One that comes straight out of the Book of Legends.”

“What exactly does that mean?” Tori questions, rubbing the spot were her tattoo is.

“It means that you two have resurrected an ancient ledgend. A ledgend that depicts four brave and powerful mermaids; with extra-ordinary powers and talents. Each of the four mermaids had a specific power over the elements of earth.” Tori and I looked at each other, than back to Rina, “It is written that one shall control the power of Fire, the next shall control the power of the winds, another shall control the power of waves, and the last shall control the earth itself, as well as the other elements.”

“And judging by your tattoos, I think we have an idea of what you two can control.” Hanon chimed in.

“But now we need to find the other two princesses, before he does.” Rina explained. He?

“Are you speaking ok Gaito?” Tori asked. Rina and Hanon’s eyes widen from shock, I think Tori just figured out who ‘he’ is.

“Yes,” Hanon began, “…How?”

“I saw him in a dream once, he’s kinda hot.” Tori said with a wild grin on her face. I smacked her in the back of the head for thinking of the enemy being hot. “Hey, it’s just the facts. Anyways in the dream I saw him chasing after two crystals; one red and one a clear white. But he couldn’t reach them. He almost had them, but just as he was to grab them, they flew away. The crystals then appeared on two girls; one in the form of a ring and the other in the form of an anklet.”

“Do you remember what they looked like?” Rina asked.

Tori began to think. “Uhh, the girl with the red crystal…she had short hair, shoulder length maybe. She was average height, maybe 15 or 16 years old. The girl with the whiter crystal…she had long wavy hair down to her butt. She was a bit taller, she also may have been 15.”

“Well that narrow’s it down.” I comment.

“Hey! At least I’m trying!” Tori spats. Pounding on her head, trying to remember more of her dream.

Hanon walked over to Tori and grabbed her wrists, stopping her from hitting her head again, “I don’t think that will help any.”

“But I think I know what will.” I heard Victor’s voice say from behind me.

“Victor! It’s about time.” Tori exclaimed when her brother walked up beside her.

“I love you too Victoria. Now then, I think I know who this other girl with the red crystal is.” Victor told us all. We all looked to him with a puzzled expression then he continued, “You see, there is a girl that I have seen when I am with my father at the harbor. She is always looking out on the sea, as though she is looking for something.”

Tori put a hand on her brother’s shoulder. “Victor, I hate to break it to ya but that doesn’t really help.” She tells him.

Victor looks over at his twin with an annoyed look, “I wasn’t finished.” He said, “Anyways, I found out that this girl is 16 years old, has short blonde hair and she has a ring with a fairly big red crystal on it.”

“Do you know her name?” Hanon asks.

“Uh…Celia I think.” Victor tells us, “But I am not positive. I have only talked to the girl once before.”

“Well, then I guess we know who to look for and where to look.” Tori comments.

“Yeah. So then what we need to do now is hang out by the docks for a few days, well when we get back of course.” I say.

“Alright then, Hanon and I will head back to the main land and meet up with you all when you return.” Rina says as they begin to walk towards the shoreline.

“Sounds like a plan!” Victor says.

“Bye everyone!” Hanon calls out as she jumps into the water and transforms into a mermaid.

“Bye Hanon, Bye Rina!” We all yell to the two mermaids as they swim off. After we cannot see the two anymore, we begin to head back to the campsite.

“You know what I just realized?” Victor says completely out of the blue.

“What is that?” I question.

Victor comes to a halt turns to Tori and I, “That this whole mermaid thing…is gonna take a lot of getting used to.”
