"Hey Gohan! Where you waiting for the bathroom?" I tried to sound as cheerful as I could. I needed to make sure that Gohan didn't suspect anything. I mean, it's not everyday that you tell one of your long-time friends that your a mermaid!

"Uh, no. I was actually coming to see if you were okay. I heard a thud coming from here and..." Oh man, he was stuttering real bad. He was really worried. I kinda felt bad.

I put my hands on his shoulders, "Gohan, relax! I'm fine." Then I walked passed him to go back into the kitchen.

Man, that was way to close. He was just about to open the door! I don't even know how I got dry so fast. I was looking for a towel and, well I'm not sure. I was just waiting for him to open the door because I knew that I wasn't going to be able to hide my little secret now. The room started to fill up with steam. I looked down and saw my legs! My hands were clenched in a fist on top of them. It was so weird. Anyway, I quickly got up and opened the door before Gohan got a chance to. And well, you know the rest.

"Rochelle! Are you okay? We all heard a huge thud! Did you hurt yourself? Do have a bump on your head?" Oh man, leave it to Chi chi to get over worried really fast.

"Guys, I'm fine. When I was getting a towel to dry my hands and the bar of soap fell on the floor. Guess I must have slipped on it." I tried to sound as casual as possible. I was still shaken up a bit.

"Well, I'm about to make lunch. So why don't you guys go play or something." I heard Chi chi suggest

"Okay mother, do you guys want to spar?" Gohan suggested turning to Victoria and I.

"Uh, why don't you two go on ahead. I'll help Chi chi with lunch." Everybody gave me a questioning look.

"Okay, what ever you say." Gohan was disappointed. He has always liked sparing with me. We were permanent sparing partners. Then both Gohan and Victoria ran outside and flew off to what I'm guessing is our normal training spot.

"So, what do you need help with?" I asked Chi chi. I could tell she was still puzzled. She knows I can't resist a spar.

"Alright missy, whats up? I know you can't resist a spar," she knows me so well, "and especially when it's with Gohan." Okay that made me blush a little. It's true. I can't resist sparing with Gohan. I don't know why though.

"I'm sorry Chi chi, I can't tell you. Not yet." I wish I could tell her. I trust Chi chi. I know she can keep a secret, but this is something that has to wait.

"Oh. Okay dear. Now for lunch! Can you help me by heating up some water? And no energy blasts." Chi chi said. Ha, I love Chi chi's sense of humor.

"Awww. Okay then." I grabbed a pot from the cabinet and set it on the stove. Wait a sec, There needs to water in the pot first! Man talk about a brain fart. I grabbed the pot and put it in the sink. I was about to reach for the handle and the water turned on by itself!

"What the!" Okay, this is weird. I tried it one more time to make sure my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. I went for the handle again. The water turned on by itself.

"This could be useful." I just reached for the handle again and kept it there. 'Yeah this could defiantly be useful' I thought to myself.

I brought the pot over to the stove. I thought to myself; 'Hmmmm, I wonder?" I put my hand over the pot and began to close my hand into a fist. The water began to boil! That would explain how I got dry so quickly.

"Chi chi, the water is ready!"

"Already! It normally takes forever to heat up." Oops, maybe I should have waited a bit. Oh well.

"Do you need help with anything else?"

"No, I think I'll be fine. Why don't you go find Victoria and Gohan?" I would, but we normally train over a huge lake. And I don't want Gohan to find out about, well, you know.

"Um..."

"Rochelle, whats up? You know you can tell me anything." I'm at a loss. I would have to lie to Chi chi about everything. Yes, I know I made up the part about me falling on a bar of soap, but that was a little white lie. Theres no getting out of this one. chi chi is as stubborn as they come.

"Chi chi, do you believe in mermaids?" I can trust Chi chi, she deserves to know. When I looked over at Chi chi, she had a confused look.

"Well, that depends. Years ago, I didn't believe that there was another race of beings out in space. It took a while to comprehend that my husband was an alien. So I guess you could say I do." That would help.

"Can you keep a secret? As in: This has to stay between you me and Victoria. She already knows." I said in a really serious voice. Chi chi knew that what ever I was about to tell her was very important. She gave me a reassuring nod.

"Well, to put it bluntly, I'm a mermaid." She gave me a "what the heck are you talking about" look.

"How about I just show you." I walked from the kitchen to the bathroom with Chi chi right behind me. We both entered the bathroom and I closed the door behind me.

"Now, please don't freak out."

Chi chi was leaning against a wall. I put my hand under the water and was about to put it on my legs when they went numb. Well, thats just great. Now if any part of me gets wet I pop a tail. I sat on the floor before I would fall. My legs transformed into my green tail. I looked at Chi chi; her eyes as wide as dinner plates.

"Ta da! This is what I mean." She was stunned, please don't freak!

"Whoa! Well I can definitely say that this is the first time I've ever seen a Mermaid." Chi chi said. She isn't freaking out! Yay!

"So, you're not gonna freak out." I ask hopefully.

"Nope! Now it looks like you might need some help drying off." I was so happy. Now, if Gohan ever starts to get suspicious, I can have some help to change the subject.

Now you maybe wondering why I don't want Gohan to know about me being a mermaid. Well, I don't want him to think that I'm a freak. I don't think he would think that, but, I'm not sure. I have different feelings about Gohan lately. I think I like him, but more than a friend.

Gohan's POV

Rochelle didn't want to come sparing! Now I defiantly think something is up. Rochelle can't resist a spar. Did I do something to hurt her feelings? Is she mad at me? But the thing that concerns me the most is that energy change of hers. It's almost like she had gone off and changed her race completely. It's baffling to say the least.

"Gohan? Is something wrong?"

"Uh actually yes. Have you noticed a change in Rochelle's energy?" She tried to not look surprised at my question.

"No, I haven't. Maybe your just imagining it." Yeah, that could be whats going on. I haven't gotten a lot of sleep lately.

"Maybe your right. Hey we're here!"

We landed right next to the lake that Rochelle, Piccolo, and I always train at. We have been training here since we were kids. This is the spot were Rochelle first turned into a super saiyan, 2 years ago. Its was a amazing sight. We looked exactly alike as super saiyans. Well, except for the obvious.

Victoria and I sparred for about an hour. She was worn out, but I wasn't that tired. She was really strong for a human. We sat at the edge of the lake and caught up on stuff. Then I thought, maybe she knows why Rochelle is acting weird.

"Hey Victoria, why is Rochelle acting strange all of a sudden?" Her face turned pale. She knows why, but I don't think she is going to tell.

"I don't know what your talking about Gohan," Yep she doesn't want me knowing, "But I have a question for you. Why are you so worried?" I don't know. I'm really not sure. I just want to make sure nothing is Wrong. I care about Rochelle.

"Your blushing Gohan! Oh my Kami, you have a crush on Chelle!" I'm Busted!

"No, no it's not like that. I..."

"Your blushing even harder! Awww, thats so cute!" Victoria basically jumped up onto her feet. "Admit it Gohan, you like her!" Man, I feel like my face is on fire.

"Yes...I like Rochelle." I must have been as red as a tomato by this point. Gez.

"Aww! Should I start planning the wedding now?" Victoria teased. O kami, she will NEVER let this go.

I put my hand behind my head "Hehe, I think we should wait a few years. But can you keep this between us?"

"Alright, I can." Thank Kami.

"Now, how about we go back. Lunch is probably ready by now."

"Yay! I'm starved!"

Then we got up and flew back to my house. I have to make sure she doesn't spill my secret to Rochelle. If she doesn't feel the same way, this could ruin our friendship.
