- Chapter One : Angela -

It had been three weeks, since we lost  Skylar.
My heart still aches with guilt and sadness. I haven't  left the house but only once or twice. Maybe three times, just to get food for Liza. Sometimes, Katelyn would come in and take Liza out to go take care of her. I wouldn't look at her though, I would stare in the opposite direction. Either sitting on the floor or on a chair.

I couldn't look at her or anyone really. Sometimes they would try to talk to me, and bring food to the house as well. But I wouldn't eat it. My stomach would churn while I ate it and I felt sick. I didn't have much of an appetite really.
I never did now. The guilt I felt from leaving Skylar to sink down to the bottom of the ocean was merciless. And sometimes I would have to hold myself physically together to find the energy to breathe.
Breathing out a soft sigh I leaned my head against the wall while I watched Liza sleep wrapped in a bundle of blankets that she had been wiggling around in earlier.
Though the sound of the front door opening slowly, snapped me out of my daze. Carefully I stood up and stepped downstairs.
Fumbling to wipe my more than likely bloodshot eyes, I almost froze in place at the sight of Garroth standing in the doorway.

I swallowed while I looked at him. He seemed to be more well rested than I was and in better condition that I was in. "Angela..." He trailed off slightly while his Crystal blue eyes flickered towards my grey ones. Pursing my lips while he looked at me with concerned eyes. I sighed softly once he stepped closer and held me securely in a embrace. "You need to start sleeping more... Eating more... You can't deprive yourself of those things because that happened. She wouldn't want that for you." He murmured while he simply held me there. I was as stiff as a statue in his arms. Though slowly I slid my arms around him and breathed out a shaky breath.
"I know."

"I want to be here for you. The others want to be here for you. But we can't help you until you can help yourself." He rubbed smooth and somewhat soothing circles along my back with his fingers. "I.... I know." I repeated again and swallowed.

"Go get some sleep. I'll come back in a little while after you manage to sleep for a while." Garroth slowly let go of me and pressed his lips to my forehead.

"Alright." I murmured and breathed out a sigh before I let go of him and went upstairs. Laying down on the bed in my room, I breathed out a sigh.

I would have to live through this.

And I would have to try to save her.
