Timeskip, 2 and a half Months Before The Vytal Festival

Ruby was training in her armor against Wave. The two have gotten very close over the time he's been here, and some think that he and Ruby look like a good couple, but over his time here, you noticed something was strange with him, but you couldn't figure out what. You were observing through Ruby's eyes his expressions, behaviors, the way he talks, it all seemed too perfect, like it was an act. You were suspicious of him, and want to tell Ruby, but you don't know if she would believe you or not. Overtime, other students from other schools have come to stay at Beacon for the upcoming Vytal Festival, and with the tournament coming up, you wanted to make sure she was ready, so you were training her constantly. While watching her fight against Wave, you saw flaws she was making in her fighting style.

Y/N: *In Ruby's head* Come on Ruby. Your not fighting, your just going through the motions, what are doing?

Ruby: *slashes Wave away* I'm trying my best!

Y/N: *In Ruby's head* Well try harder!

Ruby got flustered and charged at Wave with no plan, and he was able to block the strike and slash her back, sending her into the wall. Her armor released, and Wave ran to her side.

Wave: Ruby! Are you okay?

Ruby:Y-Yeah, I'm fine.

???: You're far from fine.

Incursio's Key glowed and you came out of it and took your physical form.

Y/N: Your sloppy.

Ruby: I'm trying my best, what more can I do?

Y/N: Try harder, look for openings, flaws in the opponents attacks, something you can abuse against them.

Wave: Ruby, who is that?

Ruby: That's my dad, he's a part of me and my weapon.

Y/N: You.*points at Wave*  take your stance. *summons armor and spear*

Wave didn't know what to do, and when he saw you charge at him, he was barely able to dodge the attack. After that, you began a series of quick yet powerful attacks.

Ruby: Dad stop!

You ignored her call and continued to strike him, not letting up for a second. After one more attack, you grabbed his spear, and yanked it from his grip, and began to strike him with yours and his weapon. He was taking serious hits, and with one hard strike, you hit him back into a wall, cracking it. His armor released, and he fell to his knees.

Ruby: Wave!

She rushed to his side.

Wave: Man, your dad packs a punch. *grunt*

Ruby: Why did you do that?!

Y/N: To show you what I mean. Your sparring, your not fighting like I told you. In a fight, your going one hundred percent, not holding back. I saw he didn't know what to do, so I used that against him even more, and punished it. You do whatever it takes to defeat your enemy.

Ruby was too concerned about Wave to pay attention, and began to walk away with him.

Y/N: Hey! Where are you going?! We're not done training!

Ruby: Yes! We are.

Y/N: You think you'll get stronger like this?!

Ruby: LEAVE ME ALONE!

You saw in her eyes that she didn't want to be around you right now. The anger in her eyes. It pained you greatly, and made you realize that you pushed too hard.

Y/N:..I'm sorry, I didn't mean to act this way..I'll leave you be...

You turned into petals, and went back into Incursio's Key. Ruby carried Wave back to the bench in the arena.

Ruby: I'm so sorry. I should have stopped him sooner.

Wave: Heh, it's alright. He only wants you to get stronger.

Ruby: But he's been so rough with me now. It's like ever since you came here, he's began to change. He's even more strict than before.

Wave: Well, who knows. Anyways, I was wondering Ruby, would you like to got out with me to Vale?

Ruby: *blushes* Y-You mean l-like a d-d-date?

Wave: Uhh, yeah I guess. 

Ruby: I-I'd love to.

Wave: Great, I'll pick you up later. I'm gonna head to the infirmary now.

He got up and slowly left. Ruby went over to pick up Incursio's Key, and when she tried to lift it, she could barely do so.

Ruby: Aghh! *drops Incursio's Key* why is it heavy? Dad?

She got no response.

Ruby: Dad are you there?

Again no response.

Ruby: Hmph, fine then. Be like that if you want.

Ruby left Incursio's Key on the ground, but just as she was about to leave, a bright light appeared behind her. When it died down, she turned around and saw Incursio's Key had reverted back into a sword instead of her scythe.

Ruby: What? Why is it a sword now? Dad!

Again no response, Ruby was starting to freak out. She noticed the gem in the center was blackened instead of the red shade it had.

Ruby: Dad where are you?! Dad!

She was starting to get worried now. She picked up Incursio's Key and stabbed it into the ground.

Ruby: INCURSIO!!

Instead of the armor summoning, nothing happened.

Ruby: Huh!? INCURSIO!!

Again nothing happened. Ruby was starting to freak out, and from the entrance of the arena, Summer walked in.

Summer: Ruby? What's wrong?

Ruby: Mom! Something's wrong! I can't turn into Incursio, and Dad won't answer me!

Summer: But why? And why is it back in it's sword form?

Ruby: I don't know.

Summer: Y/N? Darling are you here?

You were not answering at all, and Summer began to worry.

Summer: Ruby what happened?

Ruby: Well, we were training, and I wasn't doing too well, and dad was getting frustrated. He came out and fought Wave and beat him til his aura dropped to show me a lesson. I got mad and when he tried to call out to me, and I...yelled at him.

Summer: What did you say?

Ruby: I said to leave me alone...

Summer: Ruby, your father just wants you to be strong enough to do this. He may be strict, and might seem like he's pushing you ridiculously, but it's all because he wants you to be strong.

Ruby: I know, but it was too much! He really hurt Wave.

Summer: You said he was showing you a lesson in fighting, so maybe he did it for that. But the worst thing a daughter can do, is push away their father who loves them to the end of Remnant. I suggest you find a way to apologize to him.

Ruby: How when he won't even come out? I can't even sense him-

She was cut off by a cracking sound. She looked back to her sword to see the blade had a crack, and so did the gem.

Ruby: Dad!?

No response once more. Ruby was beginning to get worried, thinking something terrible is happening.

Ruby: Mom, the sword's breaking! Dad's connected to the sword!

Summer: Sheathe the sword quickly!

She did so, and began to carry it delicately.

Ruby: What do we do? What if something bad is happening to dad!?

Summer: Your dad's a fighter sweetie, he wouldn't leave us like that.

Ruby: *tears drop* It's my fault...I got mad and made him go away...*sobs* it's my fault...

Summer: No sweet heart, you didn't mean to. It just came out, I know the frustration of training. Just give him time.

Ruby nodded slowly, and they both left to her dorm. Meanwhile, Wave was off somewhere else besides the infirmary.

With Wave

Wave was stood in his single dorm, and making sure no one could hear him, he brought up his scroll, and made a call. A woman in a cloak answered.

???: Wave, what is the status of the mission?

Wave: I'm beginning to gain more of their trust. It's all going accordingly.

???: Good, once you have earned their trust, begin your search for the relic. Once we have it, Remnant will be one step closer to becoming ours. Keep me updated.

Wave: As you wish your majesty. *bows*

The call ended, and Wave began to fix himself up.

Wave's Thoughts: Once I deal with Incursio's Armor, nothing will stop us. That man will be a problem though, I will have to use Ruby. Shame, she is quite the catch I have to admit. Oh well.

Timeskip, Night time, RWBY's dorm

Incursio's Key was placed on the desk, sheathed, and Ruby was staring at it all day. She constantly tried calling out to you, but received the same silence. Her teammates were beginning to worry about her.

Yang: Ruby, it's getting late, we should head to bed.

Weiss: Yeah, we have to stay well rested if we're going to be ready for the tournament.

Blake: I agree.

Ruby: I'll be fine, go on without me.

Yang: O-Okay, night.

She kissed Ruby's head and they all went to sleep besides her.

Ruby's Thoughts: Dad...please....don't leave me...I'm sorry...

She let her tears slowly fall as she stared at the cracked gem. Ruby felt so guilty and bad for what she said. Ruby got up, and went to bed, not caring to change.

Timeskip, Next Morning

Ruby awoke to the sun hitting her face. She rubbed her eyes that had mild tear stains and them, and jumped down from her bed. She walked over to the desk, but stopped from what she saw. Instead of the sword, Incursio's Key......it was a pile of rose petals in the shape of a sword. Ruby looked around frantically thinking she might have just moved it. But after finding no trace, she came to a heart breaking conclusion.

Ruby: NOOO!!! *begins to cry*

Yang: Ahh! What's wrong!?

Weiss: Ruby! Why are you-

She cut herself off when she saw Ruby crying over the rose petals that used to be Incursio's Key. Weiss knew something terrible had happened, and jumped out of bed and embraced Ruby.

Weiss: Shhhhh, clam down Ruby. Please calm down, Shhh...

Ruby: *loud sobs* DAD! AHH!!! *loud sobs* DAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!

Yang was tearing up, and looked over at the family picture on the nightstand.

Yang's Thoughts: Uncle Y/N...not again...

She let her tears fall, as the two believe that the worst has happened, and that you were gone.

Outside

A teen who had black hair, blue eyes, was wearing a black combat vest, black pants, and boots was walking by team RWBY's window when he heard the crying.

???: Huh? Crying? *sigh* I hope that person is alright.

He continued his walk, and began to play with his semblance, fumbling electricity in his hand, and thought to himself.

???'s Thoughts: I heard Blake was here, maybe I can see her again. It'd be nice to catch up.
