Okay here is another A/N right before the chapter, bear with me, so I published two chapters today as it is my birthday. So don't forget to check out CHAPTER 25 at any cost, it's important for the story.

I took hold of Sofia's hand and dragged her away from Ash, leaving him there all alone.
I felt that in my heart. I had hurt myself in the process of asking him to leave me alone, but it will be worth it. He will be safe. I think I knew what has happened and I needed to deal with it on my own or he would get hurt because what I was about to make myself do was dangerous.

I didn't leave Sofia's hand till we were near the lockers. I got my bag out of my locker and took my little clutch out of it.

In it was a burner phone that I always had on me and a credit card with enough allowance to buy me a lifetime in heaven. These were the two things that I always had on me but never used. Sofia saw this and gaped like a fish, she knew I would never even touch these things unless it was apocalypse or end of the world.

I dragged her to my car and we both got in.

I looked at her seriously, suppressing all the emotions churning in me, waiting to burst out like a volcano and I think Sofia knew this.

She was my one and only friend who new one terrible truth about me, a truth that I wished I could turn in a lie. But it wasn't.

"Tell me exactly when these texts started and what did they want?" I asked her seriously.
And without missing a beat she jumped into the story.

"Rose the day your mom took you away was the day, I received the first text. It was about your whereabouts. They told me they won't harm me if I told them the exact truth. First I thought someone was just pranking me so I changed my number and deleted your details from my phone." she went on without a pause.

"But they got hold of the other number as well, this unknown person did not want me to go to anyone for help so they threatened to k-kill my little sister," she said and my eyes flared up, no one, I repeat no one threatens to hurt my Lyla.

She must have seen the fire in my eyes cause she took hold of my hand and squeezed it lightly.

"It was all manageable for me, I would never have disclosed your location to anyone, I knew that. I kept telling this person that I had no idea where you were."

"And then one day some men dragged me in a van and threatened to kill my whole family and Ethan."

"And I came to here three days later, I needed to see you to warn you. I begged my parents to let me come here to Mason and they complied." she finished.

I took a deep breath to compose myself.

"Sof don't panic but I think you were followed here," I said slowly holding her hand.

Her eyes widened and she shook her head.

"I am so so so sorry Rose if I had any idea I would never have come here. I am sorry." She said her eyes brimming with tears and I knew she had been holding them in for a long time now. I squeezed her hand and she began to cry.

And then I drove right out of school, straight to my mom. She has to know this. We will need help if someone is coming after us.

She was still at Edgewood College. I parked in the parking area. And called her.

She picked up after the second ring, "Rose where are you?" she asked the second she picked up.

She must have seen the caller ID and panicked. I had saved this number on her phone so she knew.

"Come to the parking lot right now, we have to go home." I think my tone declared what home I was talking about.

Then I called my brother. The one person I love in this whole world more than anyone.

He picked up.

"Hello?" hearing his voice after so she wanted to cry.

"Nate!" she gasped out.

"Rose! Rose! Oh my God! Rose where the fuck are you?" He screamed through the phone.

"Nate I will tell you everything, just calm down and call me on this number now, I have to go right now but I will call you soon."

"Okay, Rose." with that I hung up.

Everything will be alright. I have to believe that.

My mom hurried out in the parking lot and wildly searched for her daughter's car.
I opened the door and waved at mom to come over here.

She hurried over, I already had the back door open and ordered mom to get in.
I think mom would have scolded me at my tone right there, but she saw my expression and the fact that I had Sofia (who should have been in Florida) sitting in the passenger seat with me, seeing this her eyes widened for a second and she just got in.

And I drove out of the parking lot.

I was driving towards our home when my mom finally asked, "Rose what is happening."

"Sofia tell her everything." and once again Sofia dived into the whole story right from the texts to now me acting crazy.

I was at my home and parked. All of us got out and now my mom was in action mode.
The moment we got in through the front door she locked it and ordered both of us to check the whole house and close all the curtains and windows and lights.

We did as we were told and then settled in the kitchen.

"We will have to change cities again." my mother said.

My eyes widened at that, after all this and she was still planning on running around and not going back to my father. And I snapped.

"MOM! NO. This is it. You have been away from dad for a long time now. Please stop. He loves us mom, he loves me and he loves you! You can't give me a normal life like this. You love him too mom, he has kept his eyes on us and kept us safe and protected in Florida for years while keeping his distance just because you said that you wanted a normal life, he has done nothing and just respected your decision no matter how wild and then you just ran away, not telling him where you are, escaping like this. It's not fair. Not to him. Not to me and NOT TO YOU." I shouted at her with all my might and released all the anger that had been pent up in me. My mom was staring at me wide-eyed and did not say a thing for a few minutes which seemed like hours.

My mom's eyes brimmed with tears and I hugged her.

"What are you running from, You are the daughter of the Italian mafia."

"and I am the daughter of the American don, it's in our blood, stop running from it."

Oooo things just got complicated.
Rose is no ordinary girl... Okay, that just sounds cheesy.
