I got home tired, I didn't see his car outside and I've left him so many calls and none has been returned. I was worried, is he okay, what's going on?

After I got settled for the night, Elijah was still not home, so I called Lami, he picked up on the second ring

"Hey Lami what's up? "
"Hey Nina, how are you?"

"I'm okay, I just wanna know if you've seen Elijah today? I've been calling him and he isn't picking up"

He chuckled "what do you mean? Elijah's been at my place since, we're studying together for the upcoming exams, maybe he put his phone on silent. I'll let him know you called"

"Oh..uh..sure let him know I called, alright see you later"

"Yeah sure, but don't worry he should be home soon"

"Yeah I understand, bye" I hung up, feeling annoyed. He could have easily texted, be acting like he's the most studious human in the world

I huffed angrily and went to bed.

My alarm rang, I groaned out and tried to get up, but something was stopping me. I tried to turn to see what and saw Elijah's face.

I rolled my eyes and pushed his arm away so I could get up.

I was packing my braids up in a bun when I heard him groan out

"Morning babe".... I hissed, ignored him and went to get my things ready for the day

"What's up with the cold shoulder?" He asked... No response

"Babe?" .. no response... "Nina!!?"

"What? What?" I retorted
"Woah, what's got into you this morning?"

"Oh what got into me? Really? How about you sit and try to recall, then you'll know what got into me"

I left the room, but before I could enter the bathroom, a hand pulled me back. I tried to free my hand, but he backed me up against the door

"Elijah, I'm too tired for this right now, I don't wanna get late"

"Why're you so mad at me? What did I do to piss you off again?"

I sighed out loudly "Fine, you stood me up, you said we would hang out, but you didn't even bother to hit me up and let me know what went wrong. I had to find out from Lami yesterday, that you were studying late at his place and you couldn't even inform me"

He rubbed his face tiredly, that was when I noticed the eye bags, I felt a bit bad. He dropped his head on my shoulder exhaustedly, moved his lips to my neck, that got me hot and flustered

"Elijah no, no, no. I told you I don't wanna get late" I said trying to get free before I become putty in his hands

I felt him smile against my neck and then he bit my neck and licked it... Oh, I'm a goner

"Elijah" all anger faded away. He raised his face to look at me
"Baby I'm sorry, yeah I should have called you, but I got caught up in my book. I'm really sorry " he kissed my forehead

I nodded at him "yeah it's fine" and smiled

He pecked my cheeks "are you sure?" I nodded again

He pecked my other cheek "I missed you " I smiled, he started laying kisses everywhere

I started laughing and trying to wiggle myself out of his grasp. "Elijah, that's enough, I need to have my bath and you should too"

He looked at me, with his eyes already filled with lust and his hands moving into my robe and going upwards

He bit my ear and whispered "How about we take a bath together "

I almost gave in when my eyes widened in realization.... "No, no, no... we just started dating "

"But you said you're not ready to be my girlfriend " he nipped on my neck, then my shoulder

"Uh...uh..yeah..well maybe I am" I smiled
He stopped what he was doing "Are you for real?" I nodded

He beamed like he won a lottery and in the next few seconds I felt myself being lifted off the ground and was spinning

I was screaming "Elijah, stop, stop, please put me down" I started hitting his arm so he would drop me

He then dropped me, cupped my cheeks and kissed me "You have no idea how happy you've made me"

I smiled "just don't make me regret it"..

"I'll fuck up baby, you know that. But I'll do my best to be better, just for you "

"Awww that's so sweet" I pecked and patted his cheeks "but as sweet as that sounds, I need to have my bath and you should have yours too"

I started walking to the bathroom, then I noticed him following me. I put my hand out to stop him "uh...what are you doing monsièur?"

"What kind of question is that? Aren't we going to have our bath?" He questioned like what he said was the most normal thing in the world

"Uh.... if I could remember correctly, I mentioned I alone and not with you " I said

He smirked "babe it's not a biggie and why can't we since we're dating already?"

I sighed "Yeah I know, but I'm not really ready for that now, I said to take it slow, remember? So please don't rush me"

He rolled his eyes "fine, I get you" and he walked away. I slumped my shoulders... psychopathic Elijah

I finished getting dressed and was about leaving when he got out of his room looking hot as usual.

He quirked a brow at me "Leaving without me already?"

I thought he was mad at me... "Why would I be?"

Oh my God I just thought out loud. I buried my face in my palms. He chuckled grabbing my hand and we left for school together

He later made it up to me, I had to cancel my shift from work to hangout with my boyfriend

I never thought going on a date with Elijah will be so much fun, I felt free, we talked about random things. I tried asking him things relating to the past and his family, but he wasn't still comfortable sharing them with me

That caused a throb in my heart.... gradual process, I thought and hoped

Here we are in his room, with my head on his chest, playing with our fingers and staring at nothing in particular

"Elijah?".... "hmm?" He replied

"Who do you love the most in the world?" I asked and I didn't know why my heart was beating frantically

He sighed, then chuckled "would have been you, but it's my mom. Although I act tough with her, but I don't ever wanna lose her"

I smiled "Aww cute, I was expecting that, but what do you mean by 'could have been me?"

"You knew I liked you as more than a friend, but you took me for granted and it left me confused and hurt. I told you almost everything, I tried telling you everything, but we just didn't work, I guess"

I felt bad cause it was true "what about you? You became distant at some point and I thought you didn't want me around anymore, so I distanced myself too"

He lifted my head towards his face, caressing my cheeks with his thumb
"I guess we just have to make the best of this, don't we?"

I smiled and nodded, before capturing my lips in a searing kiss
