I woke up with a headache, I groaned, yawned, stretched and just stayed on the bed, I didn't sleep well... not like I get enough of sleep before anyway

All the incidents of yesterday came rushing back , I don't know how I'll face him this morning, I just wanna avoid him throughout today

My alarm went off again reminding me that I've got lectures in a few hours, I sighed and lazily got off the bed to get ready for the day. I prayed, cleaned my room and went to have my bath, I finished dressing in my bodycon gown with my Vans sneakers, the gown outlined my figure and my belly pooch

I just laughed... fuck it, I don't care anymore cause there are fatter ladies out there living with no care in the world and they're happy

I was set to leave when my tummy let out a growl.... shoot! I didn't have dinner. I rushed to the kitchen to get my takeout and warm, I was about taking a bite from the burger when Elijah stepped out

Oh my God, I thought he left.... I assessed him, he looked hot in his black Jeans, long sleeved black sweatshirt and white sneakers and a black muffler ..... is he mourning someone? I thought; yeah more like he gave up on you, my subconscious hit

I sighed sadly, that was when he noticed me sitting on the stool in the kitchen. We stared at each other for a while before he gave a slight nod and turned to leave

I reflexively looked at the wall clock... shit, time!! I was late, I hope he'll give me a ride. I quickly packed my breakfast in a plastic bag and ran after him

He was about driving off, shit "Wait!! Please wait for me" I yelled reaching the passenger's door. He looked at me, confusion marred his face.. "I'm sorry, but please can I ride with you to school?"

He looked like he was debating on the request, "I promise, it's just for today and because I'm late"
He sighed and unlocked the door, I got in and smiled at him which he didn't reciprocate

The ride to school was awkwardly silent, I wanted us to talk and sort things out, but I didn't wanna get ignored. I still wanted to know what he's thinking

"Uhmm.. uh about yesterday, I think we should talk" I said waiting for his reply which didn't come until after ten minutes or so

"Talk about what?" He asked looking straight"...."uh about yesterday " I repeated while twiddling my fingers nervously

"There's nothing to talk about, you were right, yesterday was a mistake and it shouldn't have happened, so just act like nothing happened at all"

I was dumbfounded, we got to school and parked at the parking lot. I was so furious and hurt.... this is the reason why I keep my guards up

"You know what? You're absolutely right cause I saw this coming, more reason why I didn't let whatever happened go further, I would have been depressed because of your psycho attitude, I really wanted us to talk this out maturely, but you just always prove me wrong. Do you know what hurts the most? The fact that you're hurt because I didn't have sex with you not because of my feelings towards you, I am glad I stopped myself yesterday, thanks for the ride" I said and left his car angrily

I got to the front of the lecture hall and calmed myself before entering the hall.
Unluckily for me "La Bruha" was the lecturer in class

"May I ask why you interrupted my class Ms Ishmael?" She asked
Every eyes were on me, Sarah looked at me with a confused face, she sensed that I wasn't okay

I hated all these attention, God knows it... "I believed I asked a question Nina"
Mrs Gilbert said
"Uhm I'm sorry ma'am, something really important came up ma'am, I'm always punctual, but I got delayed today because of what happened at home" I lied

She sighed and adjusted her glasses "Nina I understand, you're one of my best students and you know how I don't tolerate tardiness"

I looked down in shame "I'm so sorry ma'am, it'll never happen again I promise"

"No problem, take a seat" I smiled at her and took a seat at the back, my mind drifted away from the lecture, all I could think about was Elijah

I didn't know the class was over until someone was banging my desk. "Hey Nina, Nina!" I looked in front of me to see Sarah sitting and staring at me with frustrated concern

"Hey" I looked away sadly
"Alright, this is the height of it, what's going on? I hate seeing you this way, you're drifting apart baby girl, Nina come on talk to me please" she said grabbing a hold of my hands

A lone tear dropped from my eyes, I tried speaking out, but the tears started pouring, then I started sobbing, Sarah sat beside me and hugged me

I cried my pain out on her shoulder, wetting her shirt with tears. After what felt like hours, I stopped crying and composed myself.

Sarah's phone rang, "Hey Trish, sure yeah we'll be there soon, something came up... yeah see ya"

I smiled at her "thanks Sarah, I'm so sorry about your shirt" I said pointing towards her shoulder... I was grateful she didn't push for the details

She chuckled "come on stop it, does it even matter" she rolled her eyes
I laughed then my tummy growled out loudly causing us to laugh again

"I didn't eat dinner and breakfast, let's go eat" I told her. We stood up, grabbed our things and left for the cafeteria, Trish was already waiting for us with three trays of food on the table when we got there.... so thoughtful of her

"Hey bitches, what took you forever? I've been waiting for a lifetime " Trish said. We rolled our eyes and chuckled
"Come on Trish, stop over exaggerating" Sarah replied

I smiled, "OMG why're your eyes red Nina? Are you okay? Were you crying?" Trish asked all at once

I just smiled and nodded...."So this was the something that came up? Okay sneaky bitches you need to start spilling" Trish said

"Can you be more polite with your concern next time Trish, you're making the poor girl not to even feel like spilling " Sarah said, looking annoyed

I chuckled "Guys it's not that deep okay, please don't fight"... "Tell that to Mrs angry face, anyway I'm sorry I sounded that way, do you wanna talk about it?" Trish said

"I'll tell you guys later, I'm not really in the mood to say anything right now" I said

"Ok no problem, when you feel more comfy, we are here okay" Sarah said and they both came to hug me. A few tears dropped from my eyes again

"Did we do something again?" Trish asked... I chuckled "No, you guys are so dramatic, I just feel lucky to have met you, you know I'm not always lucky with friends, my family are my best friends. So meeting and knowing you guys makes me happy to be in this country, I just wanna say thank you and I hope we're still very good friends no matter the issues we're bound to have"

"Awww baby girl, you're making me cry right now" Sarah said, giving a fake sniff, we all laughed and started eating our lunch

"How could you guys have lunch without us?" I knew it was Lami, I looked up smiling, but it faltered because I didn't expect him to be here, I choked on my food and started coughing

Sarah quickly gave me my drink while patting my back "Are you that excited to see me Nina?" Lami said and chuckled

Sarah playfully hit his arm, I rolled my eyes at him.... if only they knew the reason why I choked
