I went to work as usual. By the end of the shift, I was packing up my stuff when Charlotte approached me.

    "Wanna go out and hang? I know a good crepe shop nearby," she invited. Because I like crepes a lot, naturally I went with her.
   
     The shop was nearby, and it was a quaint little place at one of the corners of a plaza that was close. I ordered a chocolate crepe with bananas and whipped cream, while she ordered a strawberry crepe with whipped cream. We both sat at a park bench that was also nearby. We then sipped our coffees which we ordered at a nearby Starbucks.

    "So," she said while biting in her crepe, " how was you day?"
     "It was fine," I said. An awkward silence then arose. Because of it, I began to laugh.

    "Why are you laughing?" Charle questioned me.
    "It's because you just asked me how my day was then you just said nothing!" I exclaimed while laughing.
     "What?" Charle asked me questionly.
     "Nah, I just have a weird sense of humor," I said while silently chuckling.
     "Oh okay," Charle then said.

     Another awkward silence between us arose. I then tried to break the ice.
     "So... do you like...." I trailed off because I can't think of a thing. Charle just looked at me quizzically with puzzled eyes.
     "Like what?" she asked. I can't do it. My mind is drawing a total blank. Then I'm just gonna wing it!
     "Do you like boys? I blurted out. When I realized what I just said, I felt like a total idiot.              
     "Yep, I like boys duh. I mean I'm a girl!" Charle exclaimed. "Why do you ask? Are you a lesbian?" she asked.
     "No! I am not a lesbian," I spoke aloud.
     "Oh really?" she said in a mocking tone, her eyes with a devious glint.
     "I really am not!" I exasperated.
     "But that's what a person who tries to hide being a lesbian would say!" she exclaimed.
     We then bickered all afternoon. We also became close friends after that.
