Chapter 2 (Part 3)
The tornado grows larger as Oliver approaches, causing him to slow down his pace. Suddenly, the knot of his cap loosens, and the tornado snatches Oliver's shako cap, whisking it from his head. Oliver swiftly jumps and reaches out to retrieve it, but his feet never touch the ground again.
The wind's force grows mighty enough to carry Oliver, drawing him into the tornado. As he rolls through the sky, his eyes scan the swirling chaos of dirt, rocks, and grass, searching for his lost cap. The wind spins Oliver in circles, causing an invisible strap to tighten around his head. Gritting his teeth, he shields himself with his arms against the barrage of small stones swirling as deadly debris. As specks of dust hit his face, he looks around and searches for his cap amid the tornado's turmoil.
Oliver's body rolls and spins mid-air. As he looks over his shoulder, he spots a boulder hurtling towards him, causing his eyes to widen. With his heart pounding in his chest, he unleashes an elemental force from his hand, blasting it towards the debris.
The boulder disintegrates into specks of dirt before reaching Oliver's face. Quickly, he wipes the dirt off his face as the tornado whirls him in the sky. The wind tousles his hair, and the dust stings his eyes, causing him to scowl and wince in pain.
Upon opening his eyes, Oliver spots his shako cap flying before him. Oliver moves through the air, stretching his arms to seize the hat. As he grabs his shako cap, he swiftly places it back on his head and tightens the knot. Once secure, he spins mid-air, releasing a surge of blue light from his palms.
The blue element surges toward the heart of the tornado, causing the wind to slow its pace and lose its strength. The once-grey tornado becomes clearer, disintegrating until not a single gust remains. Oliver feels the pull of gravity dragging him downward. The wind that once carried him has vanished, and he starts to fall from the sky.
Before Oliver can touch the ground, he summons a powerful gust of wind from his palms. Pointing his hands towards the earth, he harnesses the wind's force to slow down his descent. The elemental wind gently lifts Oliver, gradually lowering him until he safely reaches the ground.
Meanwhile, at the city's gate, the crowds leap in excitement and applaud as they witness the Remaining Podeshire landing unharmed. Gregory gasps in awe, dropping his jaw in surprise. An enthusiastic buzz spreads among everyone as they point at Oliver, amazed by his remarkable feat.
"There! There!" Edgar exclaimed, pointing at Oliver.
"There he is!" Bethany joined in, pointing towards Oliver as she cheered loudly.
Sarrah smiled, leaning closer to Gregory as she whispered, "See? I told you he'd be fine. Now, do you believe he can accomplish things on his own?"
Gregory began laughing. "Huh... yeah!" he grinned, locking his eyes on Oliver.
Oliver takes a deep breath, his chest rising and falling as he wipes off the sweat on his forehead. He then glances to his left side, scanning the horizon for what lies ahead. Sighing deeply, he furrows his brows, preparing himself for the awaiting challenges.
The breeze returns, gently brushing against Oliver's hair. But, slowly, the wind intensifies, causing the surrounding grass to sway forcefully in one direction. The powerful breeze attempts to snatch Oliver's shako cap again, tugging at it.
Approaching swiftly, a second tornado emerges on the horizon, carrying a swirling mass of debris that casts a shadow over the land. The air becomes heavy and thick as the ominous cloud above crackles with lightning. The tornado churns, creating a powerful suction that draws everything towards its core.
Oliver grits his teeth. His eyes burn with determination as he locks his gaze on the approaching tornado. He bends his left knee, grounding himself, and places his right hand firmly on his left shoulder, preparing for the confrontation. He waits as the wind becomes more violent, ripping through the grass beneath his feet.
Swiftly, Oliver slashes his right hand through the air, unleashing a dazzling white and glittering element from his palm. The radiant force blasts forward, slicing through the tornado. The sparkling material cleaves through the turbulent vortex, cutting it horizontally and causing the tornado to split in half.
As the tornado fractures, the darkness around it begins to fade, gradually transforming into a lighter shade of grey. The opaque and menacing vortex becomes increasingly transparent, allowing glimpses of the sky beyond. The wind's intensity weakens, and the threat of the tornado diminishes as it dissipates into the air.
