Chapter 19: Babymoon
Jack and Jane arrived in Europe as they made their way to the hotel accommodated by her job as they talked about both the business and pleasure part of the trip.
"I hope the kids are okay." Jane said as she worried about them, especially since their both teenagers and they knew the kids might throw a party like most teenagers did when their parents were gone.
"They'll be fine baby. I'm pretty sure our moms have their eye on them."
"I know, but it's weird not hearing them argue and it's peaceful here."
"Well, they knew we were going to Europe and soon, we won't be able to travel." Jack said as he held her close.
"What do you wanna do?"
"Well, we could get something to eat." Jack said.
"He's going crazy since you mentioned food."
"What would y'all like?"
"Anything, but snails."
"If you were craving snails, I'd get another room and let you have this one." Jack said as they they laughed.
"Don't worry honey, I think we might have a gyro and fries." Jane said as she laid down on the bed, feeling their baby move all around her stomach.
"Sounds good. Why don't we take a nap first and then order food."
"That sounds like a great idea."
"I know you're tired baby after a long plane ride."
"He was excited about our trip and I barely slept because there was way too much noise."
"Parents these days are too afraid to discipline their children but that one kid who kept screaming, he was the one who woke you up."
"I know and I still have a migraine from that."
"I'll get you a couple of Tylenols, a glass of water and a cold wet wash rag." Jack said.
"Thank you baby because if I don't take something for it soon, I'm gonna get sick." Jane said as Jack handed her the medicine and she took it, water and rag.
"Do you want your night gown?"
"Yes please." Jane said as Jack got out their bed clothes and they dressed.
...
They woke up a few hours later, Jack ordered dinner as they ate and took a bath together.
"How are you feeling?" Jack asked her.
"Much better darling."
"How are you doing little man?" Jack asked his unborn baby.
"He's just sprawled out all over my belly and my bladder is being used as his laying spot and my ribs are being used as a foot rest." Jane said as Jack smiled down at her stomach.
"Who do you think he'll look like?"
"Hopefully me, because Connor and Raegan look like you."
I know and I hope he looks just like you." Jack said as they got out of the tub.
"I hope so too because I thought that Connor or Raegan would look like me but they got your genes and I was just pregnant with them for nine months.'' Jane said.
"Connor got your facial structure, your hair color and eyes."
"I know it was supposed to be Raegan with all your features but we made two beautiful kids and I think we have done pretty good."
"I still can't believe I carried them for nine months and I was huge. Like I felt I was doing the limbo forever."
"You were gorgeous then and you're gorgeous now." Jack said as he kissed her stomach.
"Well, I don't know about you but I'm starving."
"I am too, I'll order right now."
"Sounds great!" Jane said as she smiled.
...
They got their food as cuddled up to each other.
"Is he happy?"
"Most definitely. Now, if I remember correctly at this point in my pregnancy with Connor and Raegan, I got really bad heartburn."
"Oh yeah, I remember that."
"Jack, I know his due date is not nowhere near but are you nervous?"
"Yeah baby, I know it sounds weak but I am."
"I don't think that's weak, I think its sweet."
"Another thing, do you think our doctor will ask you to have a cesarean instead of a vaginal birth?"
"Probably, considering I'm not in my thirties."
"I just don't want nothing to happen to you or the baby during delivery."
"I know and I don't want nothing to happen either of us or you." Jane said.
"We'll be okay and whatever our doctor tells us, we'll put our faith in God that he'll get us through it."
"He probably thought we should not have gotten pregnant this later on in our age."
"Well, we tried to get pregnant a few years after the kids were born but it was like a trial and error process."
"But either way, our doctor said me and Sawyer are perfectly fine and he's measuring right on time."
"Well, I'm excited and scared at the same time."
"I am too."
"I love you Janie."
"I love you honey." She said as Jack kissed her forehead.
...
Jane laid down for a nap as Jack planned a picnic for them both, knowing Jane loved the secluded, romantic spots here in Europe as he wrote a note just in case if she wakes up before he gets back.
He decided on getting various breads and cheeses along with some sparkling fruit juice since she couldn't drink wine, which she always had when she was here but this trip felt different to the both of them.
It was a second honeymoon, like the first except she was pregnant this time and there hadn't been a whole lot of physical contact except kissing and holding hands was all they did.
Jack knew Jane was probably not in the mood to have sex, because she felt uncomfortable most of the time and knowing that that their son was right there in between them made it awkward.
He walked into the little farmers market and started strolling through there, hearing the music and people chatter about made Jack focus on what he was getting.
"Comment puis-je vous aider?" (How may I help you).
"I would like your lovely selection of the cheese sample tray and two of your French loaves."
"Right away."
"Where are you from?"
"I'm from Tennessee."
"Married?"
"Yes, very happily married with two children and a little one on the way."
"That's such a long way for a woman with child to be riding on a plane."
"She's only twenty seven weeks." Jack said.
"Here."
"Thank you." Jack said as he paid.
"De rien."
He got everything he needed and headed back to the hotel, hoping that Jane might be awake.
As he unlocked the door, he found Jane reading as she looked up from her book at him.
"Where did you go honey?"
"To a little French market not far from here."
"What'd you get?"
"I thought we could go on a picnic."
"Where?"
"Anywhere secluded."
"You do realize that I can't sit criss cross, applesauce right now."
"I know and there will be chairs involved."
"Okay, well let me go and get ready." Jane said as she decided on a full black attire due to it being November and frigid outside.
"Should I wear my hair up or down?"
"You usually wear it up in cold weather to keep it out of your face."
"It's gotten really thick and hard to keep it from getting tangled and out of my face sometimes."
"That's why I always brush it before running my fingers through it." Jack said.
"I think I might get it trimmed while I'm here."
"I need a haircut and shave too."
"Doesn't it feel weird when another guy has a razor to your face?"
"Yeah, well they do it better than I do."
"Before long, I'll either have to get you or Raegan to shave my legs and the other two places."
Sounds fun."
"No, not really." Jane said as she applied her lip balm and lipstick.
"Baby, this is not my first rodeo of shaving your legs and other two regions."
"Yeah, under my arms and my sensitive area as I like to call it."
"I love that area."
"I know you do but at the same time, I'm just embarrassed because it's the main part of how I gave birth to our children."
"That's one of the reasons why I love it."
"Another thing honey, do you wanna have sex?"
"Do you?"
"I want to."
"I want to as well baby."
"What if skipped the picnic and just had one in our room?"
"But you just got dressed up."
"I know, but we're still here and the bed is just right there, we won't have to get up and get in a hurry." Jane said as Jack backed her up against the door.
"Happy Babymoon darling."
"Happy Babymoon to you too baby." Jack said as they had their picnic and spent the rest of the evening and part of the night making love until they drifted off to sleep.
