Melinda's POV:

"Melinda...?"...my stomach fell down to my ass. I pray that I am just imagining things. I turn around to face the person behind the voice and because life hates me so much of course it's Henry. He scans me up and down then finally meets my eyes. I don't know what to do or say because I didn't prepare for this. "Henry umm hi how are you doing?" I break the silence with the first words that come out of my mouth.

"I am good. Your mom called to ask where you were last night but I see your doing okay with this fella." he gestures at Ross with a cup of coffee in his hand. "My mom called your phone. Oh umm sorry..." "I don't know if you think we are still together but please tell your mom because I don't have any relation to you now." Wow. Who the fuck does he think he is I swear I could smack him through his face. While in my thoughts Ross puts his arm on my waist and pulls me towards him. What is he doing? "Angel I am so sorry." he is facing Henry right now and they are having a staring contest.

"For what?" I just know he is about to say something stupid but I have to play along because I have to convince Henry that I am madly in love with Ross or else this would be for nothing. "I am so sorry you have to deal with this bullshit before attracting a real one." haha why the fuck did I laugh, but its whatever now because it happened. I looked up to see Henry's face and he looked livid. Just as he is about to say something someone interrupts him. "Babe I got the doughnuts." a female voice enters the conversation and Henry turns all of his attention to her. "Thanks Yas" Henry responds and I recognize the voice from the last phone call I made to him, this is Yasmine.

She is a beautiful girl, brown hair, pale skin, red lips, and a nice figure. He kisses her cheek and she lets out a beautiful smile. I feel so disgusted because that use to be me. Ross's energy changes as Yasmine smiles at Henry and I wonder why. "Let's go or else we will be late for our date." Henry intertwines their fingers together and they start walking and as they walk past us Henry nudges Ross in the shoulder. And Ross clenches his fists. "Are you okay?" I ask as I pull his arm off my waist.

"I can't believe you use to be with such an asshole." he walks to his car door. "Hey watch it, okay his not an asshole. Besides he is way better than you could ever be." he stops as he is about to open the door and turns to face me, his glare could kill. "Oh is that so. Look here Melinda I get that I may fuck around but best believe my mom taught me how to treat a woman. And I can't treat a woman like a queen if she doesn't know that she is one." those words really hit home and I don't think I will be forgetting them anytime soon.

I stay silent not knowing how to respond. "The only reason people get treated like shit is because they think they are shit. Like attracts like."and with that he turns his back to me and gets in the car and drives off. I just walk to my car, get in and drive home. I get home and my mom is sitting on the couch with her arms crossed looking at me. "Look Ma please I am not in the mood. I am sorry but I can't." she gets up from the couch and walks my towards direction and in seconds I am smacked through the face.

"Melinda Darcey Thor. Have you finally lost it. Since when do you sleep out without telling me. Do you want to kill me." she is very angry and I understand it but I just can't right now. "I am sorry okay. But why the hell would you call Henry Ma?" she looks surprised "Look here watch your tone girly this is my house so my law. And I didn't just call him I called everyone okay. So if you don't want to get embarrassed then don't stupid shit." she grabs her keys and slams the door behind her.

I go to my room and immediately dial up Yara and Amanda on a call. "Well look who is alive." Amanda greets, "OMG Mel are you alright? where were you last night?" at least Yara is a bit more soft. I explain everything to them leaving nothing out. "Well shit hit the fan. And go Ross I like him." Amanda cheers. "I honestly don't know what to say." well I guess I rendered Yara speechless.

"Guys please I need to know what I should do next?" there is silence until Amanda speaks "Suck it up and finish what you started can't chicken out now." I am so tired of all of this, I just want to fast forward to the part where I get Henry back. "Well I think you should talk to Ross he seems like a boy that's being misunderstood." Yara replies but honestly I get why she says that.

After another hour of talking I hung up and decide to call Ross. He doesn't pick up, I call again and he answers. "I am busy, so be quick? What do you want a quick fuck or something else ?" what a way to answer a call. Rude. "Okay rude much. I just called to apologize I didn't mean half of the things I said." because the other half are true.

"That's nice. Is that all?" That's all he is going to say after I apologized. "Seriously Ross you said worse shit to me." He sighs and goes silent for a while. "Mel you are really exhausting and it's draining. But I am sorry I shouldn't have spoke to you that way." I am so glad he is mature because Henry would have argued for hours.

"When my shift ends I will come pick you up for a lunch date, okay?" I start smiling by myself like a fool. I always planned the dates with Henry so its nice to have someone else take the lead. "Sure I would love that." I answer.

"See you then Yasmine.."
