Melinda's POV:

We are standing in the rain, arguing and all I want to do is cry but I have no tears. "You leaving was the issue you that caused." I am move closer to him holding him by the arm so he can listen. "I drank because me answering would confirm you that you were a rebound but before I could say any of this you had to leave didn't you?" He looks more calmer now. "Are you sure that those girls are really your friends?" I know he means well but the question in itself hurts.

"They are just upset. They will come around." I can tell he is judging me. "Alright let's go back in then." He kisses me on the forehead and holds my hand as we walk in the house. It seems like everyone stopped playing the game and just moved on to dancing. I see Yara and Amanda outside near the poolside this is the perfect chance to talk to them. "I am just going to talk to the girls I will be back soon." I yell into Ross's ear to be louder then the music.

I shuffle in between people and make my way to the poolside. Amanda seem to be occupied with her cigarette and Yara is just there next to her keeping her company. Amanda is the only one that smokes so usually me and Yara would just watch and cough dramatically to annoy her. "Hey" My legs feel wabbly and I can tell they are shocked to see me approach them. "What are you doing here?" Amanda is always harsh but I know better than to take it.

"You can't be a b*tch to me after the bull you just pulled. You have no right be that way." Amand drops her cigarette and stumps on it with her heel. "You have been a b*tch for weeks now on end, so what are you on about?" Yara gets in my face a bit but I move back to maintain space. "You both just gang up against me without hearing me out so really what did you expect?" I start raising my voice. "We told you this whole rebound thing was shit from the beginning but you never listened. You brought all the shit on yourself." Yara starts tearing up while talking.

"I know I have done shit but you can not also blame me for Richard being a bustard and cheating on you because that just can not be my fault." I start defending myself. "I also did not plan for my mom to get with her Dad?" "Hold on." Amanda raises her hand and stops me from speaking. "Your mom what?" Yara asks. "Yes that is why Yasmine was at my house in the first place, they were 'breaking the news' I guess." They look less upset and more sympathetic. "But that was not the only reason we are upset. You literally took everything too far and, you were so busy with your boys that you had no idea about our lives anymore." Yara does have a point I have been a sorry excuse for a friend.

"I am really sorry about that, I know I am a lot to deal with because I had to be alone with myself." We laugh together for the first time in what feels like forever. "I am sorry about exposing you like that is Ross super upset?" He would have been luckily not. "I told him the truth not long ago so he was not upset about that it's the fact that everyone knows that pissed him off." They nods "Boys." we say in unison. "Aww isn't this cute, the girls back together." Yasmine walks in between us. "What the hell do you want?" Amanda is definitely not one to tolerate people she does not like. "I was just checking up on Melinda." She turns to look at me. "How is that serious relationship of yours going?"

"Are you not too pregnant for all this? Where is your baby daddy at?" We scoff at Yara's comment while Yasmine stays silent. In a flash she slaps Yara across the face and starts grabbing her hair and Yara start tagging at her hair as well. "Let go you witch." Amanda and I try getting Yara off her, Yara finally lets her go causing Yasmine to fall into the pool. Some of the people notice what was going on and start taking out their phones to record. Richard sprints to the scene to Yasmine swimming to the stairs. "What the hell Yara?" Is he serious blaming her. "Oh spear us please. How about you go get your girl instead." He rolls his eyes and walks around to the other side of the pool. "What happened here?" Ross walks up with Ben to our side.

"Your ex tried taking on my friend." He sighs at my remark. "Was it red curls over here?" Ben points to Amanda. "No but I would love to push you in for a swim if you don't stop pointing at me." Ben walks over to her. "Touch me then." Amanda backs him away by pushing him in the chest. "We should leave. You guy can catch a ride with us. That's if you are friends again." "We are cool. Come on girls." We walk our way to Ross's car and everyone gets in.

"Have you ever seen a woman a day in your life?" Ben and Amanda have been quarrelling since the beginning of the ride. "I am not use to your flirting style." "Who would flirt with you?" Yara is just chuckling next to Amanda. "Why don't you girls sleep at mine tonight, my mom is not at home tonight." I yell from the front seat to mask the arguing. "Yeah great idea." Amanda answers. When we arrive I kiss Ross goodbye and Yara and Amanda follow behind me.

We spent the whole night just talking and gossiping here and there. When we finally sleep its in the early hours of the morning. "Our uber is here, Amanda poop faster." Amanda rushes from the stairs while Yara heads for the car she quickly hugs me and chasing after Yara. I open my phone and see a message from Ross telling me to be ready by one pm for the event he has invited me to as his plus one. The second message is him saying he would bring the dress for me.

At twelve I get a knock on my door. "Oh come on in." He looks so much different in a suit way more polished than his regular self or maybe it's that he is in black. The color does drive me crazy. "I was just finishing up my makeup." He hands me the box that contains the dress. "I hope you like it, my mom made me promise to pick out the best." "I am sure it will beautiful, I see it's a green color so it will be amazing." I head upstairs to change and the dress is absolutely gorgeous. A long sleeve shoulder down mermaid dress that hugs my body perfectly. "All done" I make my way down the stairs and his face is priceless.

When we arrive it filled with middle aged people some men are just look like how they would describe the rich fat men in books who are only attracted to young women. The only couple here are Ross's parents. "You look gorgeous darling." Fiona greets me with a hug and Ross's dad shakes my hand. "You look stunning too Fiona." "Welcome so glad you can keep Ross here company." She squeezes his cheek to embarrass him a bit.

I look to my right and catch a glimpse of Yasmine, I nudge Ross in the arm to get his attention. "What is she doing here?" I say in a whispered tone. "Our parents are close." I sigh annoyed as her and her father walk up to us. "Fiona, Uncle Blaze lovely to see you here" Oh so she is familiar with them as well. As I suspected. This is going to be a long day.
