Ross's POV: 

"Come on in." Mel invited me over to help her with redecorating her room, I also thought this is the perfect opportunity to ask her to come to the party with me. "So what do you need me to do?" Walking into the room there are posters everywhere and some lights that I am guessing is all we are going to do. "Everything" Gladly.

"Don't tangle the lights it can not be that hard" I can not see anything mainly because she is on my shoulders but I can hear the struggle she is having. "I am doing it correctly relax, you can just say you are tired you know?" I chuckle at the statement. "Do you want me to carry you around the whole day, because you could ask nicely babe." "Stop." She always says that every time she blushes. "There. You can put me down now please."  I kneel on the bed and drop her of my shoulders. We both collapse on the bed and she lays on my chest while we sit in silence, the room lit with a deep blue. 

"You are free today and tomorrow right?" I prepare to ask what I really want to ask. "Yes, did you want to maybe do something?" I love that she reads my mind. "Yes actually." "I was thinking we could go to the carnival in Gregs." She had once mentioned wanting to go to one briefly over text. "And you could accompany me to a party tonight as my date." I wait for her response because I just know that if she says no I am screwed. "Do I have time to change in between events or no?" Yes. "I would suggest that you pick one that can go with both events." She gets up and heads for her closet going through her clothes. She won't have to worry about her hair because she has braids well box braids to be specific. There is a nice glow to her face whenever she has a new hairstyle.

We have been at this carnival for about 30 minutes and Melinda has forced  me on 15 rides. After I beat her at bumper cars she has been giving me the silent treatment so I suggested we go on a ride on the boat at a near by the lake for "Lovers" so that there is no competition. I have been rolling the boat alone, I did not expect her to help but the fact that she is mad is making me feel like I am serving a punishment. "Roll faster I want to fed the ducks up ahead." Oh so she speaks only to give me commands. I roll slower to get her attention. She turns her head to glare at me. "Ask nicely." I prompt her. She forces a smile "Please." She leans in to fed the ducks I can tell by the way she puts distance between herself and the edge that she would not like to fall over. Funny how water scares her.

"Look at the banner over there." She points to  the banner hung across the bridge that reads 'Love is accidental' that is a word I will not lie. "How long does it take you to fall in love with someone?" Oh no I hate questions like these because I honestly do not know how to answer them at all. So how do I answer this one?

Melinda's POV: 

I just had to ask that question it has been eating me up every time I am up at night thinking of whether this will be serious or not and it kills me inside. "I do not really believe in love as a whole to be honest." My heart has literally dropped to the pit of my stomach. His expression is bland but what I do know is that he is not joking. "So then what do you believe in?" Stupid question but I really want to know what he means. "I believe in caring for someone." Caring? "Do we not have to care for everyone anyway? How would that relate romantically?" 

"I feel like I would care for them the most. It would be more different because that person would know me the most after myself. Love for me is just a word used to put more sugarcoating to the word care." I kept on listening for where he would refer to me? Or for when he would say 'for example YOU' but nothing, but I do know not everyone falls in love fast. So I will expect it for now. "Do you believe in love?" How do I answer not to scare him away.

"Yes I do actually. I feel like everyone does it or feels it whether they want to or not. And it does happen accidentally as well. I will forever quote that banner from now on." I chuckle to lighten the mood from seriousness. After the boat ride we head to a basketball game for prizes there are two bears I had my eyes on and we have been here for five minutes to get up to a hundred points he is close now. "Five more left." I shout out facing behind him. "Yes!" I shout out as he makes the last shot. He picks the bears as a reward. "Here you go." He hands me the snow  colored one and keeps the coffee colored one. "Why can't I have both?" I tease. "You do have both Coco will just live with me and Nilla will be with you." 

When we arrive at the party there are about fifty people already there it is crowded in my opinion but at least I know someone here so it will be bearable. "Hey there are my favorite people." Dan comes to greet us from the beer pong table. "Glad you could make it...together." He makes sure to emphasis that part. He shows us to the lounge and we drinks on the way there. While on the couch and being introduced to Ross's friends I see Amanda and Yara walk in they do not see me yet but now everything is awkward. "Are you okay? Do not worry too much about them yeah?" 

About half an hour goes by and Amanda and Yara have seen me but are doing there best to ignore me. Then there is Dan on the other hand who has been drowning in beer but has been looking at me and Ross the whole night. Ross says there is nothing going on but I know he is lying. Oh did I also mention Yasmine walked in with Richard in her arm. And she is drinking pregnant but hey who am I to judge. "Let's play truth or dare!" Yasmine suggests. "Yeah gather around the couch." Dan moves people to our direction, Ross gets up and tries to drag me along. "Hang on now Ross, it is just a game, let's play." He sits down after that statement, he looks tense.

We spin the bottle and play the first few rounds are just innocent. Yara gets a dare to kiss the cutest boy here I have seen her with him the whole night it is obvious she likes him. The bottle lands on Ross and Yasmine is asking for a truth now. "Is it true that your friends encouraged you to move on with Melinda after me?" I turn to look at Ross after how she phrased the question. "No it is not." Dan chuckles at him and it makes me suspicious. The game continues and on my mind is that question Yasmine asked. Yara now gets to ask me a question, "Is it true you fell in love with your Rebound, oh I am sorry I mean Ross?" The area fills with chuckles and grasps. "Rebound!!? Damn Ross that is quite a title man." The guys start laughing. "Shut up." Ross says in angered tone. I can not believe Yara right now.

"Well are you going to answer?" Amanda reminds everyone of the question. "No I am going to drink." Ross gets up while everyone continues laughing. I run after him and catch him heading for the car. "Ross wait. Where are you going?" He stops in his tracks and turns to face me. "Do you want me to cuddle and smile with one while everyone laughs?" His tone is bitter and sour. It starts drizzling which does not make anything better. "I did not plan that, you can not blame me."

"You drank instead of answering, so what the hell is that suppose to mean!?" We just stand looking at each other. I know he is embarrassed but I did not mean for anything to happen but how can I tell him that I love him first.
