JOBS
Woke up at 6:00 AM and researched jobs for almost two hours. My plan after college is to get a job and do two years of no/minimal spending in order to save up for a down payment. That way, BF and I can have something once he graduates, and if for some reason we're not together anymore (which I doubt,) I'll at least have some finances.
I looked into careers that would work with my degree, and honestly, I don't like what I'm seeing rn. I was told there would be different paths when I chose, and it was the best option for me at my top pick college. Most of the jobs require a driver's license, which I'm not comfortable with getting yet, and others are potentially dangerous. However, there are a few I'm interested in:
-Event Coordinator. It might be hectic, but I also like planning and making things others will enjoy!
-Pregnancy Consultant. This was a unique one that I found. Some aspects might be sad, but if I can help someone, it's worth it.
-Hospitality Staff. Another unique one. Idk if my degree is specifically required, but it's related. I'm not particularly extroverted, but I like making sure people feel welcome and comfortable.
Since there weren't a ton of options for my degree, I researched stuff that didn't really require one. I think I've found some good ideas:
-Artist. I think you all know this one.
-Hotel Front Desk. This might be stressful, but I think it could be fun.
-Housekeeping. This is something I've done for school and I'd be all right continuing.
-Bridal Associate. I'd have so much fun doing this! It seems like such a happy career. Only problem is, it seems to only be for weekends.
-Florist. (That one song from Tangled gets stuck in my head.) The most fascinating idea today. Come to think of it, I've always loved picking flowers and putting together little bouquets, so why not turn it into a career? Unfortunately though, I know almost nothing about the position and I have allergies. But I'm sure I can fix that!
-Greenhouse Worker. Again, allergies and zero knowledge. But it seems so fun and happy! And I can help people, even if it's just in a small way.
-Library Worker/Librarian. Something I've thought about, but not extensively. It seems very calming. One of my friends does this and they seem to really enjoy it, so it might be worth a try!
After all that, I slept until 10:00 AM. Unfortunately, I did have a small breakdown shortly after I woke up because my mom didn't think I'd like being hotel staff. I know now that it's almost PMDD time and that that was pretty irrational LOL. I'm all good!
BF
BF and I were planning to hang out today, but he's still sick. I am too a bit. We spent a lot of time sending Benedict Cumberbatch jokes back and forth LOL.
YOUTUBE
Watched YouTube for a while since I was really tired.
DRAWING
Worked on my drawing a few times when I had the energy.
MINECRAFT
I also played Minecraft PE with my sisters for a few minutes. Didn't have any ideas of what to do, though.
SHOPPING
Went to Target with my mom and J in the afternoon. I would've preferred to stay home and rest, except that I had a gift card and didn't know when I'd have another opportunity to spend it. My mom picked up and order and J looked at sandals. Since no one's shopping for school supplies yet, I decided to do that. Got some folders, a five-subject notebook, and a pencil case. That, along with stuff I already have at home, will last me the whole year (unless I need something special, which I can get later.)
The worst part of the trip was people's behavior. There were some people that were letting their kids run around without masks, then having them put them on before going to the register so they wouldn't get in trouble. There were also people who weren't wearing masks at all, despite it being the rule. It was kinda frustrating to see. I admit I haven't done everything perfectly during this pandemic, but it's wrong for people to willfully ignore safety precautions.
Anyway, in other news, my mom and I might have seen BF's dad in the checkout line LOL.
HOME
When I got home, I was super tired again, so I just did a lot of the same stuff as before. I'm trying to teach myself that it's good to rest and that my future will be okay even if I'm not working all the time.
Wow, that sounds way more pessimistic than intended. Apologies!
TIKTOK
Read that TikTok was banned in India, and the United States might follow suit. That was saddening, but I understand why it could happen. Some things are pretty shady right now, and it's better to be safe than sorry. I'll miss making videos, but I can do other things. I also followed a bunch of my favorite creators on Instagram just in case. It definitely won't be the same, but I'm sure we'll find something someday!
SONGS
Belted out a bunch of musical songs LOL.
YOU
How are you today?
