Why me?
Ino and Karin approached our table. What could they possibly want now? I really don't feel like dealing with them. Ino stopped in front of my table and crossed her arms over her ample chest. "What are you doing here Forehead?! You know that you're not welcome here!" She shrieked out. Geese, she sounds like some weird, annoying bird. And, duh, it's lunch time, you idiot.
"Well, it is lunch Ino-pig, so I'm eating my food," I reply coolly. I can't let her piss me off. After living with my father, and the bullying, I've learned two things. 1, to keep my mouth shut, and 2, to ignore the hatred directed at me. That's why I never engaged when Ino and Karin got mad at me.
"You never eat down here, so just go away. I can't eat in the same room as such filth," Ino replied with a scowl.
"Yeah Sakura, why don't you just go die. Nobody wants you here. Naruto, Gaara, and Neji are only your friends out of pity," Karin cackled out. Go die, it echoes in my head. Is that really what people want? Is my life really worth nothing. And I really thought Naruto, Gaara, and Neji were my friends. It's not true.. is it? How can I be sure it's not fake? I bite my lip. It doesn't make sense.
Why do people hate me so much? I may act tuff and uncaring, but my heart brakes even more with each hurtful comment. I thought Naruto, Neji, and Gaara were healing my broken heart. I guess there's no fixing me. I stand up and walk out of the cafeteria carrying my half eaten ramen. I hear Naruto calling my name, but it hardly registers. All I'm focused on is getting away from everyone.
I run up to the roof and collapse. I allow the tears to leak from my eyes. Thank God I didn't cry in front of them. They don't deserve to see my pain.
"Why are you crying?" a voice sounded out. I snapped my head up and looked around. There standing at the entrance was two boys. My eyes widened when I realized who they were. They had black cloaks with red clouds. Oh no, they're in the Akatsuki!
One of them had hair that was slightly darker than blood red and looked as though he had just gotten out of bed. His expression radiated boredom; something which seemed as though it was probably always there. He looked at me, and my head panicked slightly. The other boys long, blond hair swayed in the slight wind, and his sea blue orbs sparkled happily.
"Who are you, yeah?" The blond asked.
"I'm Sakura," I say quietly. I try to stop crying, but the tears won't stop. I continue to eat my ramen while crying silently.
"I'm Deidara, yeah." I look at the crimson haired male expectantly.
"Sasori," he says bluntly.
"You're really weird, yeah. Y'know, crying and eating at the same time, yeah." I looked up to see Deidara standing over me. "Why are you eating alone, yeah?" He asked obliviously to the hatred the other students showed towards the pink haired girl.
"It's none of your business." I stated nonchalantly as I continued to eat.
"Hn." was the scarlet haired boy's intelligent reply as he sat in front of me, grabbing my chopsticks and silently ate my food as I watched in horror.
"That... was mine..." My hopeless expression made him look unimpressed down at me as he sat back. "Buy your own food!" I glared at him. The guy still ate all my food. "My food..." I bit my lower lip to suppress tears from dripping down through my face. "I don't want to go back to that place..." I whispered, remembering how I was treated by most of the students, remembering everything that happened at said place, remembering how alone I felt.
"Sasori, yeah! You made her cry!"
"Pfft, cry baby!" He insulted me lightly.
My pink head shot back to the red head.
"What did you say?" I glared at him half-heartedly. "If I can go back to the cafeteria, I will, and I will buy more food," My fist clenched, but after a while, my fierce orbs gradually changed and saddened. "...but..." I trailed off, feeling weak from the sadness I have always been trying to ignore and hunger, as I hadn't eaten anything for breakfast or dinner.
"...And?"
"And? And?! You ate my lunch, and I'm hungry! I didn't eat any breakfast or dinner last night... and now I'm so hungry, and you ate my food! You are mean! You are despicable! I can't even return to the cafeteria to buy more food!" I snapped, obviously pissed off, and forgetting my sadness for a second.
"It's not my fault that you didn't eat your breakfast, but Deidara can buy you some food if it's that important," Sasori answered, still seeming totally bored with the situation.
"Me, yeah?" I looked at Deidara warily and glared at the laid back red head. "Fine then, but I don't have money, yeah."
"Oh, I do! Here, buy some food for the two of us, just the two of us." I gave the money to the patient blond who was still standing up, then glared again at Sasori.
"And you said I was the mean one." The red haired Akatsuki pouted lightly.
Deidara walked out with the money happily. Sasori and I were left alone, both of us glared at each other. I started to glower at his red hair after not long.
"You know I really want to cut your hair." I continued to look at the silky red locks, getting out a pair of scissors from my bag. Sasori touched his hair protectively, warily looking at the cutting tool in my hand.
"Don't you dare touch my hair, young lady." His bored look got replaced by a panicky glance.
"I really, really hate red hair, I want to dye it!" I say narrowing my eyes as I crept closer with the scissors. "...or maybe balding you is much better."
"You're insane!" He said, slightly scared, stepping back as I continued to lean closer.
"It reminds me of someone, I really hate," I muttered as I stepped forward and he stepped back again. I think of Karin and Ino. My anger swells.
"Who do you hate?" His question echoes across the roof. I want to tell him. Let people know how much I hate Ino Yamanaka and Karin Uzumaki. How badly I want to rip out Sasuke Uchiha's throat. But it was my problem, and mine alone. He could never understand what I went through. I glance over at Sasori and see his caramel brown eyes staring straight at me.
"You wouldn't understand," I say looking at the ground.
"You might be surprised. But don't worry I'm not pressuring you to tell me. I'm sure in due time you'll spill. Plus I have a feeling we'll be seeing each other a lot more," He says.
I smile. A real smile. He smiles in return. My mom did always say I had a smile that could thaw even the coldest of hearts.
Even when everyone in school hates me these people help me. They do it without thinking. Just talking to me like I'm a human being is enough. It makes me feel like I'm more than a piece of trash. Too bad I have to go home tonight to be treated like dirt. If only dad could learn to love me. I miss his hugs...
To be continued.....
