Saved Again

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" a cold, eerie voice said. I look up to the person who spoke and see none other than Gaara. Gaara had a tight hold on Karin's arm, preventing her from cutting my hair. He looks really pissed.

"G-gaara," Karin called, obviously surprised. Gaara's seafoam green orbs glare icily on the people standing around me. Most of them flinch in fear. I can see Sydney swooning over him. I roll my eyes in disgust. Do all these girls just care about boys? Karin drops the scissors she was holding, but still, keeps a firm grasp of my hair. The men holding my wrists tighten their grasp. Sydney turned her head to Karin excitedly.

"You know him?!" she asks with hearts in her eyes. Again way too boy-crazy.

"But she's right. Gaara-kun is definitely handsome." I can already see inner's hearts forming.

"Please don't start," I beg. I look at Karin, who's eyes haven't left Gaara's angry form.

"Yeah, he's our new classmate," Karin replies almost nonchalantly.

"Hi Gaara-kun, my name is Sydney. I'm sixteen year-"

"Release her," Gaara demands coldly, as he glares at the men holding me hostage. He ignores Sydney as if she doesn't exist. Karin's eyes move in annoyance.

"I'm sorry but we can't." She smiles

"You see, she did something wrong to us. We're just teaching her a lesson. You may go on your way and forget everything you saw here," she says as calm as she can manage.

Gaara rubs his temples in frustration.

"You just don't get it do you?" He mumbles.

"Ganging up on a single person is not teaching a lesson." He then looked at Karin and the others, his eyes flaring with rage and pure hate.

"One against thirty isn't fair."

"We don't really care about that, Gaara," Karin replies.

"So please mind your own business."

Gaara starts chuckling, though his laugh isn't light. It's dark, bitter, and devoid of humor. Everyone, including me, got the shivers.

"Wow, never knew Panda-kun was this scary," Inner says with a creeped out look.

"You people seriously don't understand," he says still chuckling, but in a split second, his hand was on the neck of one of the guys gripping my arms.

"I'm really angry right now." The bloodthirsty smile returns to his face, as he tightens his grasp on the man's throat, eradicating the air out of him. Everyone's eyes widen in horror. And me, well I'm slightly happy. Screw that guy! But deep down, I know that what's happening is wrong.

"S-stop..." The unnamed male student managed to say whilst his neck was being held by Gaara. As if he didn't hear the students pleas, Gaara just squeezed harder. The other men were about to move, to save their buddy, but froze when Gaara's death glare landed on them.

"One more step and I will snap this guy's neck," he warns.

They all paled. Everyone could tell he was dead serious. Gaara looks over at the other bumbling fool holding my arm.

"Let go of her." The male student gulps and looks for guidance from a quite horrified Karin. Karin clenches her fists in anger and scowls.

"You may let go of her," she says angrily. The man releases me, and I rub my now bruised wrists.

"This is not over yet Sakura," she glowers menacingly.

"Come on guys, let's leave for now." She then walks away and leaves me broken and beaten on the ground. Most of the men run away in fear. Gaara drops the guy he was holding. The guy fell on the ground, gasping for air. Maybe now he knows what it's like to not be able to breathe. The guy sprints, tripping midway but stood up in a haste to get away from Gaara.

Gaara looks down at me. I start to hyperventilate. My brain simply won't accept the fact that he won't hurt me. I start to quietly cry again. He touches my dirty cheek and I flinch.

His eyes gaze on me gently, nothing like the way he looked at Karin and the others. I start to hiccup cutely and try to calm my nerves. My eyes widen when he picks me up bridal style and starts walking.

"W-what are... you doing?" I ask.

"G-gaara put me down!" I cry out, waving my arms like a lunatic. He glances at me but just keeps walking.

"G-gaara I can walk. I-I'll get you dirty!" I say, struggling to get out of his grasp.

"No, you can't walk like this and I don't care about getting dirty."

"B-but..." I start to protest.

"Quite being stubborn." I sigh in defeat and stop struggling. I look at the direction he's heading and assume he's heading to the nurse's office. Why did he help me? Sure, he knows me, and we're sort-of friends. But I've only really talked to Naruto and Neji. Gaara sits by me in math, but it's only because I was the least annoying person in the room (or so he says). I start to feel drowsy but force my eyes open. I really don't need to fall asleep smelling like a dumpster threw up on me.

I start to think about all that's happened to me in the last few days. I feel the angry tears start to flow. I start crying silently, trying to be discreet. Why does Karin hate me so much? Seriously what did I do to her? I want to know! All she's ever done is treat me like dirt. Why didn't Ino save me? She acted like a servant following their master. She obeyed Karin, even though I could tell she thought it was wrong. I felt myself losing consciousness, but this time I didn't care. I needed to escape reality for a while.

To be continued.....
