Marisa was terrified. She didn't want to die!
She looked around for any way to get out, any way at all.
She couldn't find one.
She then looked over at Zane, who managed to hold a straight face even when faced with death.
But Marisa saw the fear in his eyes.
Marisa wanted to be comforted. She wanted to be told that it was all going to be okay.
She looked away from Zane, and back to the Careers in front of them.
"This!?" the boy from Twelve--Rachett?--demanded, "This is who killed Gleams! This little girl."
"Yes, now can we just kill the both of them and get on with it. We're all gonna die of old age at this rate," the girl from One--who Marisa knew for a fact was Harper--snapped impatiently.
Marisa was so scared. She wanted to stop her hands from shaking.
Marisa wasn't even thinking about it, but she grabbed onto Zane's hand. And he didn't pull his hand away.
"Fine then," Rachett pulled out a dagger.
Suddenly, Marisa locked eyes with someone.
Someone behind all of the Careers.
Kefira.
Instantly, Kefira's index finger shot to her mouth, telling Marisa to be quiet.
Marisa gave a slight nod.
Kefira held out a throwing knife. She started to creep towards Harper.
Kefira hesitated directly behind Harper, before swiftly grabbing her and stabbing her in the neck. The cannon boomed.
Marisa fell perfectly still, before Zane pulled her out of the way of an arrow.
The field was now even.
Cole, Rachett, Clara VS Marisa, Zane, Kefira.
Of course, neither Zane nor Marisa had a weapon.
Kefira threw a knife at Rachett, which he dodged with no problem.
"I guess this is the end of our ally-ship!" Rachett then said, before turning and booking it into the trees.
The girl from Two was hesitant, before also turning and running in a different direction.
Which left Cole all alone.
Cole shot at Kefira with his bow and arrow.
Kefira dodged it, throwing herself to the ground.
Kefira threw a knife at him, still on the ground.
Cole also dodged. He stepped backwards, before readying another arrow.
Marisa stared at the two, locked in battle. It would continued until one was dead. And Kefira was nearly out of knives.
Cole, instead of shooting at Kefira, suddenly turned and shot at Marisa.
Marisa felt the arrow. However, it only just clipped her shoulder.
But Kefira leaped at Cole--who was distracted.
Kefira tackled Cole to the ground and stabbed him until she heard the cannon fire.
Kefira stood up, panting.
Cole was dead.
And with him the Careers.
There was only Clara and Rachett left, but they were separated.
Kefira looked over at Marisa and Zane.
"Let's get you fix-- umm..." Kefira suddenly looked between them.
Only when Zane let go of her hand did Marisa realize they had been holding hands the entire time.
"I'm going to ignore that," Kefira said finally, "Let's get your shoulder bandaged."
Kefira reached into her backpack and pulled out some bandages.
She wrapped them gently around Marisa's shoulder.
"We should probably go. These dead bodies are not helping the mood," Zane suggested.
Kefira cleared her throat, "Yes. Let's go."

Louis was alone. He didn't really mind it--it's just that he'd always had someone else there during the whole Games, but now there was no one else. Whether he liked it or not.
He just paced.
Elora was dead.
It still didn't really seem to sink in.
She was gone.
He told himself the truth over and over, but his mind never seemed to realize it as the truth.
He needed water. He needed food.
He needed a lot of things.
As of right now, survival was not looking good for Louis.
Until a girl his age limped into his view.
She seemed well-stocked.
And with his desperation, well-stocked meant trustworthy.
She seemed to see him as well, and tried to hurry away as fast as she could. Which wasn't very fast.
He realized that running after her would probably only scare her more.
But that didn't really stop him.

"I propose a team then," Johd said.
"Only if you drop your weapon first."
Johd narrowed his eyes, and did not drop his weapon.
"That kind of dis-trustworthiness is exactly what I need on my team. I'm down for a temporary ally-ship."
Johd smiled, "Perfect. Name's Johd."
"Link."
Johd held out his hand, "Until this stops being beneficial to the both of us."
Link took his hand, shaking it.
'Ha. Both of us. Funny joke,' the both of them could be caught thinking.

Jackson and Kimi searched. And searched. And searched.
All night long.
"Please, can we get some slee--" Kimi begged, but Jackson shushed her.
"No! I'm not stopping until we find her!"
Kimi sighed, but said no more.
They didn't find her though, no matter how long they looked.
Only as the sun started to rise did Jackson realized what might've happened to her.
"No, no, no. No way. It can't be. She can't be dead. Can't."
Kimi was silent.
Completely, dead, silent.
"Go!" Jackson suddenly screamed. "Just... go!"
Kimi hesitated, but then turned and left.
It was what he wanted her to do, right?
Right!?
