As the water began to disappear, as the sun started to rise, seven tributes remained. From 11 to 7 in one night. Four cannons had fired. Four bodies had been carried off.
Four families would never see their child smile again.
But seven still had a chance.
The Cornucopia was madness.
Screaming, crying, panicking, murder, and so much more filled the air. But fear above all else.
No Gamemaker could've guessed the chaos that would ensue once all the Tributes were gathered together.
Kimi looked around desperately. She knew she was safe, for even a second.
Louis seemed to calm down for just a moment, but Kimi knew he was so unstable. If she did one thing wrong, she could be dead.
Kimi saw that Johd and Link were back-to-back, ready to fight off anyone that came their way. But they weren't attacking people first.
That was good.
Kimi heard a small jingle.
She knew what this was.
And it was not good.
Not good at all.
It was supposed to be good, but in this situation? It was far from it.
A Sponsor.
The person who Sponsored Kimi and Louis must've known exactly what would happen, there's no way they decided NOW would be the best time. Sadism. They wanted to see the kids fighting over the supplies.
But what did they Sponsor?
3 spears.
Kimi feared for her life, as she remembered from training...
Louis never missed. Not with spears, anyways.
This was bad news. Not for her--not right now anyways--but for Rachett, who decided to attack them for their supplies.
Louis didn't even hesitate. He threw the spear directly at Rachett, no second thought. No "maybe I shouldn't do this."
Cannon fire.
Rachett fell to the ground, spear jutting out from his heart.
Louis slowly--very, very slowly--approached Rachett's body. He forced the spear out of Rachett.
And stabbed him.
He was dead, instantly.
But that didn't stop Louis.
Kimi covered her eyes in disgust, but could still hear the sounds of the spear.
It stopped.
Kimi opened her eyes again. She couldn't bear to even look at what Rachett's body might've looked like. She couldn't begin to imagine how mutilated it was.
Louis was standing over him, hands shaking. But otherwise he was still.
Perfectly still.
Achingly slowly, covered in blood that was not his own, Louis turned. His face was dark.
And looked at Kimi.

"MARISA!" Kefira wailed. She hadn't woken up yet. "MARISA...!...please, please wake up. Please, please, please. I can't-- I can't lose both of you, no no."
Tears streamed down Kefira's face, clinging desperately onto Marisa.
Marisa fell still.
"MARISA! PL--"
Marisa coughed herself awake, weak and frail.
Kefira started to cry harder, hugging Marisa tighter.
Marisa hugged back, lightly.
"Kefira..." Marisa's voice was tired, quiet. Ragged, torn. "W-We need to go."
"But you're--"
"We'll die if we stay," Marisa protested.
"I'll carry you, okay?"
"You've been up all night, haven't you?"
"...I'll be okay."
"As soon as we get somewhere safe, you need to sleep."
Kefira nodded, standing up. Marisa tried to stand, but she was too weak. Kefira picked her up off the ground.
Kefira looked around. The water was all gone by now.
The two girls disappeared into what little trees weren't torn from the ground by the tsunami.
Searching for anywhere, anywhere at all.
A safe spot.
Somewhere the tsunami hadn't completely destroyed.
There wasn't.
If someone hadn't been in the Cornucopia, they were dead.
Kefira found the best place that she could. An overhang of rock.
Then she passed out.
