While growing up James had a wonderful time with his single father, his mother having left at the age of two. Some people would feel upset and incomplete with one parent but he didn't feel that. He felt complete and thought that his dad loved him too much sometimes, but what parent could love their child too much?

James didn't know it but his dad does everything he can to look after him. He work two jobs while James is at school and the occasional night shift to send James on camps and to get a birthday present for him.

Chris would do anything to keep James happy. He was such a care free child and Chris didn't want to take that away from him. No price was too small for his happiness.

They were walking in the park one afternoon, enjoying the view. James was holding his fathers hand and watching the birds play. He was only seven and still had a simpler mind although he was street wise beyond his years.

They were doing what they did on every other Sunday. Just spending time together not nesssary talking but enjoying each others company. James was still eating the ice cream his father got for him but was partially upset as Chris had refused to have one of his own.

Two days later he came home to find his dad lying down on the kitchen floor. So he did what his dad taught him and phoned 911.

"911 what's your emergency?"

"My dad won't wake up. Is it normal to sleep with your eyes open?"

"Is your Father cold?"

"Yes."

"Stay there and open the door when someone knocks. An ambulance is on the way to you. "

"Okay. What is wrong with my dad?"

"... would you like me to stay on the phone with you until the ambulance arrives?"

"Yes please. "

Unknown to him at the time, that conversation was the turning point of his whole life. From then on nothing was the same. He will always remember the trauma and rush following.

When the ambulance arrived he opened the door as he was told to by the person on the phone,who then hung up. Two people came in with a stretcher and took his dad away, the nice lady was about to get in when she asked him if he would like to have a ride in the ambulance. He said yes.

James found himself in the front of the ambulance racing towards the hospital to save his father. When they arrived at the hospital he was separated from his father and sent to wait in the waiting room. He didn't know how long he was there for but he was scared and worried for his dad.

James waited until a lady came to collect him say that he was to come with her. Following his dad's rule of never going with someone unless they had an official badge he asked to see hers. She showed him it then dropped him off at a house with lots of children in it.

From that moment on till many years later he was bounced from home to home never staying in one for more than six months. When he was eighteen he had spent his last year in the orphanage before being pushed out. He graduated with honours and had several scholarships to choose from.

At university he studied Early Childhood Care and Child Care alongside psychology. He meet several people there, the most important being Ally. After giving the speech as valedictorian he proposed to Ally, up on stage in front of his teachers, year and their families.

Needless to say the whole theatre was in an uproar with many of the people swooning over said proposal. Ally was crying and could barely talk so instead choose to fly up the steps and embrace James in a bone crushing hug. Pictures where being taken left, right and centre and it was the talk of the world for weeks after.

Now the wedding, it was absolutely beautiful. They had it performed in a forest beside a waterfall. Everyone was there, the school year and teachers, extended family and friends, even public came and by the time it was over there was scarcely a dry eye anywhere.

The theme was off-white and baby blue which matched in with the deep green of the forest and the deep sea-blue of the crystal clear river. James wore a dark blue suite with a pale blue bow tie and off-white shirt while Ally wore off-white accented with baby blue and dark blue. They looked absolutely sublime together complementing each other's outfit.

After the honeymoon they moved into their cozy little two-tiered home. Everything was going well, nothing could be better but they felt as if something was missing. A few months later they decided to do something about it.

Together hand in hand they walk up the steps of this orphanage for the last time. For now. They share a caring smile before James raises his hand and knocks on the door.

They know that there will be tough times but as a new family they hope to get through it together. It'll be a learning curve but it will be a good one no matter what the outcome will be. They are changing someone's life for the better and nothing can be compared to it.
