Chapter 44
A/N: Finally, an update! Sorry guys but this one is a filler chapter!

Karen's POV
Kevin apologizes to Kevin, and to my surprise, Caspian forgives him almost immediately. Later, I learn that it was because he heard them fighting and didn't want to add more tension between them.
Since we got the information that we needed from Rosanto, we leave Interlacus today. It was actually quite great staying here, except for the fight between Iris and Kevin. I mean, we got great food after a long time and such soft beds to sleep on.
Rosanto arranges a generous amount of stock food and clothes for us. We thank them and Rosanto wishes us farewell.
Rosanto takes my hand. "Princess Katarina, it was my greatest pleasure to have you and your company here. My friend Etine's daughter, I will do anything to help you. And when you finally do find the Borat, do make sure to visit again." he says.
"Of course, King Rosanto. I will- We will definitely visit again, once everything is back in place. And we cannot thank you enough for your help." I say.
"We love the place, your highness! And once she is crowned Queen, I will nag my way here." Iris says and Rosanto laughs heartily.
"I knew I liked you, Miss Evans. And Prince Brothers," he nods to Darius and Caspian, "It was a pleasure to serve you as well!"
"The pleasure is all ours, Rosanto!" says Caspian. We all shake our hands with Rosanto and Iris and Caspian says goodbye to the Legolas, whose name, I didn't quite catch.

"Dad, please, please, just one day! Kevin and I will be back the next day, I swear!" I whine at my stubborn dad.
"Karen..." he says warningly and I pout.
"Arthur, come on, she's been asking for so long!" says my mom. I look back at my dad with puppy dog eyes which work almost all the time. My dad sighs and looks at my mom.
Please god, please make him say yes!
"Fine, but only one day!" he agrees and I squeal, wrapping my arms around him tightly.
"I love you, dad!" I beam, looking up at him.
He pats my head and goes, "I love you too, kiddo!"
I do the same with my mom and I rush upstairs to call Kevin.
"Bro, I am in!" I yell as soon as I hear hello from the other side.
"Wait, what?" he asks surprised.
"Dad agreed. So you and me, have a whole freaking day at the mall!" I beam.
Busted! Yup, that was what I was begging my dad for permission.
"Thank goodness, we can hang out somewhere away from mine or your bedrooms!" he chuckles.
"I called Iris, but her parents didn't allow, the moment they heard that you would be there. And, before you say anything, the parents are hella strict! They don't want boys around her. So, we can't exactly do anything about it!" I say and hear him sigh.
"Fine, guess I just have to wait until I can at least kiss her!" he sighs.
"Kevin buddy, chill! I am giving her slight hints about your crush but she is too dumb to know anything-"
"Don't you call her dumb, she is way smarter than you!"
"Whatever." I roll my eyes.
"So the whole day to ourselves! Don't make fun of me but I want to squeal like the way you do!" he giggles.
"Broooooo!"
"Yeah, and why don't you call your boyfriend also, huh?" he asks. I can literally imagine him smirking like the way he does.
"Yeah, hang out and make out with your teacher slash boyfriend and get thrown into jail! Great idea, dude!" I scoff.
He laughs happily on the other end. "I was just kidding! And so tomorrow, wear something good! And wear something pretty tomorrow. I want to see my best friend beautiful at least once before I die!" he says and before I can yell at him, he hangs up.
Jerk!
Just to annoy him, I am so tempted to wear just sweat pants and a hoodie. But since we are going to the mall, I can't dress like that.
I dress for school, pick up my bag, and jog downstairs to see my dad already ready to head out.
"What did he say?" is the first thing my dad asks.
"He squealed!" I giggle.
"Are you all ready to go, Mr. Hill?" asks George, my dad's driver.
"Yes, George, we are! And Arthur, George, not Mr. Hill!" my dad says smiling and George nods.
"Have you had your breakfast, George?" my mom asks.
"Yes, I did, Alice! Thank you for asking!" he says and looks at me with a warm smile. "Someone is pretty happy today!"
"Dad allowed me to hang out with Kevin for a whole day!" I beam.
"That's great, sweetheart. Now let's go to school, shall we?" he asks and I nod.
*****
My eyes shoot open and the first thing I see is under the roof of our tent. Warmth folds over me, with a weight resting over my midsection. I turn around to see a peacefully sleeping Darius. He is even snoring a little.
I dreamed about that day before I went out with Kevin, and had the time of my life with him at the mall. My parents, I miss them so much. It felt like I was with them, hearing their voices, my dad calling me 'kiddo', my mom being the kind one she is, asking George if he had his breakfast.
God, I miss George too! But we've all missed him ever since he passed away.
I miss my house, my room, my school, even if it was shitty. I miss Peter, being in his class, him smirking whenever he catches me checking him out. I miss him teaching us math. I miss roasting Hannah and her gang, I miss the canteen, I miss the Gym...God, I miss everything.
Life was so simple back then. Apart from illegally dating my teacher, my life was so good. But all that now seems like a lifetime ago. And what I now have is my friends. And only them alone.
But thinking of mom and dad, it's been so long since they saw me. It's been so long since I saw them. I didn't even give a good explanation of why I left. And god knows if I'll even get out of here alive.
"Pudding?"
"Darius..."
"Why are you crying?" he asks.
Wait, I was crying?
"I am crying? Oh god!"
"Hey, hey, hey why are you crying, pudding?" he asks, more concerned and sitting up.
"I don't know." I sniffle. "I just miss my parents so much. I miss my old life, Darius."
He smiles sweetly, "Hey, it's okay! We can always meet them, just not now!" he says.
"Why did it have to me, Darius? Why wasn't it someone else? You know, when I left, I didn't even give a good explanation of why I was leaving. They would be so worried. I am such a bad daughter." I begin sobbing.
"No, you are not! And you were chosen because you are the one. You are the one strong enough to be the person in the prophecy." he says.
"Is there any way I can go back? Back to my life? Because no matter how much I belong here, that is where I grew up, Darius. They are my parents. And I so badly want to just... go back." I sob, recollecting all my good memories. He wraps his arms around me, warmth enveloping my body as it begins to work as a tranquilizer to my hyperventilating self.
We stay like that for some time, listening to his heartbeat and calming myself down.
"What happened for you to think like that?" he asks.
I inhale. "I dreamt about them. Just a normal day, when I was asking my dad for permission to hang out with Kevin. It was so good, Darius! I really miss those days." I whisper.
"Shh....don't worry! Once all this is over, and you are crowned, we can go meet them, okay?" he asks and I nod my head.
He kisses my forehead.
"You wanna sleep?" he asks but I shake my head.
"Then what can we do?" he asks.
"Cuddle and talk," I say.
"You are behaving a lot like, Iris, you know?" he asks and I giggle.
We cuddle for a long time, me telling him about my old life and him not liking the fact that I dated my teacher. I don't know when, but I eventually fell asleep in his arms.
