Karen's POV

"Your Highness, the Borat has been missing for ages and my father passed almost a year ago. When I was born, they didn't remember about the Prophecy of Erad, and I myself am very different from what is said in the prophecy. If anything is known to you please do tell us." I request.

"Princess, you claim that we do know something about the Gem. We know nothing. And the last time we saw Etine was sixteen years ago." King Rosanto says. I sigh. We reached Interlacus about three hours ago and I still haven't gotten answers from the King because he doesn't believe that I really am Etine's daughter.

Suddenly, a bird comes flying straight to the king and Iris flinches. King Rosanto then proceeds to untie a tiny piece of paper from its claws. 

Seriously, this form of communication still exists? How do the birds know this is where you are supposed to deliver the damn piece of paper?

And I feel like I am in a scene from Lord of the rings since these Elves look exactly like those from the movies. Not to mention there is a Legolas in here. A hot, long-haired archer, I mean.

"Well, Princess Katarina," Rosanto smiles at us, "Your mother has sent me a message to be expecting your arrival. Perhaps, she didn't think that you would arrive here this early. She claims to explain everything once we can meet in person." He says.

"So, what do you say now, Your Highness?" I ask smugly.

"I'll explain everything when we have lunch. I reckon that it has been a long time since all of you have had a great meal and good sleep, am I right?" he asks.

I nod. "Yes, your highness! It indeed has been very long since we had a good meal and sleep."

"When Etine came here, he looked miserable. Not physically, but emotionally I could say he was bruised." Rosanto tells.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"When he arrived here, he was...I could say sad. He told me about how he felt so guilty about abandoning his daughter and that was the first time I learned that Etine even had a daughter. Then he went on about blaming himself for the reason why the Borat was stolen and put the entirety of the kingdom in jeopardy. He was so angry at himself that he went on the exile." He explains. 

Wait, he felt guilty? Why would he? He didn't even come back for me.

"He felt guilty about leaving me?" I ask, surprised.

"He did, princess. Very guilty. After all, you were his daughter. His blood. The heir to the kingdom. And he did tell me about finding you and giving you the Borat before he dies. He vowed to at least see you grow up and turn into this beautiful lady that you are. And to keep the Borat safe until you can find it and claim the throne." he completes.

Okay, what. The. Hell?

"And just after around two years, he sent us a message that he found you!"

"He found me?" I ask, bewildered.

"Yes, princess. Etine found you and he sent me a very elaborate message on being so happy that he has finally found his daughter. He wrote everything about the couple that found and was raising you and he was happy that his daughter was being raised well." Rosanto takes a sip of his drink.

"But your highness-"

"Call me Rosanto, princess Katarina. Like your father," he says and I smile.

"Rosanto, if my father found me, then why didn't he claim me? Why didn't he bring me back to Eponine?" I ask.

"That Katarina, I am afraid I do not know. All that your father told me was that when the time comes, the Borat will safely be in your hands and that you will rule Eponine just like he did." He says.

I sigh. "Thank you very much for your hospitality, King Rosanto. I cannot thank you enough for the information you just gave me." I tell sincerely.

"For my friend's daughter, for her to be the queen of Eponine, anything princess Katarina!" he says as he raises his glass in the air. "To finding the Borat!" he announces and we all repeat after him, raising our glasses to the toast.

The moment we all take a sip of the drink, Iris starts coughing badly. well, the reason is nothing but the fact that what we just drank was neat tequila.

"That's...that's....alcohol?" she asks through her coughs.

"I am guessing that is what you call it among the humans, isn't it Katarina?" Rosanto smirks taking another sip of his drink.

"Indeed it is, Rosanto." I chuckle. "Pardon us, but my friend here has never had this strong drink. And thus the coughing up." I say and Iris glares at me as Kevin tries to muffle his laughs.

"Aaaah, it's been so long since I cuddled you in a comfy bed!" Iris giggles as she buries her face in Kevin's chest. Caspian chuckles, taking a seat on the bed beside them but then, he and Kevin exchange a mischievous glance at each other and look back at poor Iris who is happily snuggling Kevin.

They proceed to tickle the hell out of her. She squirms in their hands, her giggles and laughter filling the room as I lean onto Darius on the loveseat. I can't believe I almost lost her. I lost her but she came back. As a whole different species. That's the catch.

"My father found me..." I murmur.

"What?" Darius asks as he rests his head on my shoulder.

"What Rosanto said today. He said that Etine sent him a message telling him that he found me. Then I must have seen him right?" I ask, turning back my head to look at him. 

"Yeah, I was thinking about it too...but, do you have any clue, about if you've seen Etine or the Borat before?" he asks and I shake my head. 

He sighs.

Suddenly, a stream of water shoots from the bed landing straight on me, and I yelp.

"What the hell?" I yell out standing up and glaring at them. 

"Did that just come out of you?" Kevin gasps.

"You peed on me?" I ask, even more frustrated.

"No, I didn't, it's just water." she shrugs. "Here, I can take it back." She says and extends her hand out to me. I feel the water from my body rise away and before I know it, there are droplets of water hanging in the air and they collapse into each other to form a huge ball of water, floating mid-air. Iris' eyes glow bright white and the ball stretches out into a stream of water that disappears back into her hand. Then she returns to normal.

"See, it's nothing!" she shrugs.

What. Just. Happened?

"Uhm...sorry I didn't quite catch you there! What the hell just happened?" I ask plopping myself down on the bed.

"Ever since I transformed, this is the power I have. Hydrokinesis," she explains.

"Holy-"

"Don't freak out!" she stops Kevin.

"Why didn't you tell us?" asks Caspian.

"Well, Delmar told me about it while we were swimming and I thought I would show it to you guys in a cool way. Like this," she smirks.

"That's real cool, though," remarks Darius.

"Well, you guys can conjure up water from the air and now I can do that too. So don't you dare refuse to give my cookies to me!" she warns Caspian who chuckles and engulfs her in a huge hug.

"Alright, I am sleepy...." she yawns, stretching. "Lovebirds go to sleep, you too Mr. Single!" she says falling back on to the bed.

"You are the other lovebirds here other than you too?" Caspian smirks down at her. 

Wait... he doesn't know?

"These two," she points at me and Darius, "I wonder what you guys will do, now that you have a bed." she teases but I see Caspian's face fall into a frown as his eyes fall on Darius hugging me from behind.

"The Lord only knows parvulus, only he knows. Your friend here is not so easy." Darius says looking at Iris while I chuckle awkwardly. I can literally feel the thick tension between me and Caspian. 

He rubs the back of his neck and stands up. "You guys have a good night...okay...umm...alright then, sleep tight, mermaid!" he says to them and kisses Iris' forehead while high-fiving Kevin. "You guys too..." he nods at us and then leaves the room. 

Kevin looks at us, smirking. "Just don't break the bed, okay?" he teases and I smack his arm.

"We ain't doing nothing, boy!" says Darius.

"I am not a boy, I am a...man?" Kevin says, raising an eyebrow.

"You're doubting it yourself!" I say. "Anyways, I am sleepy too and could do some cuddling. Sleep tight, lovies!" I chirp and Darius wishes them goodnight as well and we leave the room.
