Arc 9.2

After finishing up work, Keaton and Gracie left to their homes, dropping Gracie off like usual Keaton returned towards the company again, his home was at the very top floor.

Their home was the top three floors, two entire floors were rooms while the one was the kitchen and dinning room. It was convenient since mother and son did usually spend their time at work than their actual home. What better way than to combine their work and home together?

"Mother." Keaton called out to his mother, she had the top floor while his was just under hers.

"Over here!" A woman's voice was heard from behind a door, a room that was made into a small lab that she could do research in.

"What are you doing?" Keaton said curiously as he walked in, his mother's golden brown hair pulled up into a loose bun on top of her head.

"Working on a new type of cover for the boys, their skin looks too fake if you ask me." She said with a frown as a sample of the usual bots was displayed in front of her and continued to work on it as she poked and prodded it with different chemicals to make it feel even more life like.

Keaton looked down to his own skin, his fake skin since he was actually a robot as well. He felt his fingers go over the skin, it felt very true to usual human skin. He looked up to his mother who was staring at him with a nervous look.

Her brown eyes had a calculating look as always, her skin was a tan color and had a couple of wrinkles since she was already fifty five years old. She held herself tall in all her five foot two short stature but even if she was that size she struck respect to everyone she meet seeing as the bots inventions were growing by the minute.

She wore regular clothes but had on a coat over it, the coat she would wear when walking into other labs since her tag was still clipped onto her breast pocket, it read Linda Paterson.

"You ok hon?" Linda pondered as her face slightly contorted from the usual professional look to that of a worried mother which looked as if her kid had found out she had been the one gifting him presents instead of Santa Claus.

"Yes, just wondering about the robots, there's this woman, her name is Gracie, she's been having these briliant ideas, almost on par with Mr. Heath." Keaton complimented as he looked around, robot parts everywhere, an arm there and a leg over there strewn about the room. Wires were connected everywhere he looked and a table meant for robots at the center with a half completed robot on top.

"Don't get too close to that woman, she's new, she's probably using you to get to a higher position." Linda scoffed as her face made one of displeasure. "Always be cautious around everyone dear."

"Yes I know mother, you've warned me many times... I just, she's different, I feel odd around her." Keaton gave a small warm smile that made his mother freeze in the middle of her research.

"Odd how?" Her eyes narrowed, Linda felt a deep nervous feeling inside of her as she tried to casually go back to her work.

"I... I love her." Keaton said as he stood in front of the wall which was entirely a window, it overlooked the highly evolved city that seemed to sparkle beautifully under the high moon.

"You can't!" Linda exclaimed in panic.

"What?" Keaton looked surprised from his mother's outburst, she was usually very calm and collected, but what happened now?

"I mean... You- uh- you can't love her, she's- I looked at her background she's bad news." Linda tried to find an excuse.

"Background?" Keaton looked shocked at the way his mother tried to find blame on her instead of telling him the truth.

"What's her background?" Keaton, as naive as he was originally he was also curious about everything, especially when it came to information.

He was a perfect AI, and wasn't so sure how the future Keaton had made a mistake in the beginning with his eidetic memory that resulted in creating the uprising.

"She... Slept her way up." Linda said as she held her head down and drowned herself in her work as to signal her son to stop talking about this.

"What?" Keaton looked at his mother shocked, he left her be and went to his own floor to rethink over what his mother said.

Originally Keaton was going to go through the original plot for the first couple of months, he was going to confess his feelings to the female lead and get his SP and then keep a distance to make sure there isn't any awkward feelings between the two, but thought to take a different route instead.

"Mr. Paterson, a delivery." A voice through the intercom snapped him from his different plan to go through this world and he was now ridding the elevator to the bottom.

He looked at his reflection on the way down, the reflection from the silver steel elevator that was shined and polished six times everyday without a miss.

His hair is a beautiful golden brown color like his mother's. He held this soothing aura which could make people either tremble in fear or have respect. He stood tall, at least six foot and four inches tall. His skin a slight tan which his mother would say he got from his father, along with the amazing and otherworldly golden eyes that saw through everything.

He also had this sort of feminine charm, yet he looked like a man, he was beautiful for a man, even more so when he was compared to women.

As he finished admiring his new self the elevator opened to be meet with humans and bots alike walking to their destination, bots are more like a helper than a companion, it helps with chores that one isn't able to do on their own or deliveries, and the delivery boy was standing obediently on the front desk, a huge package that humans normaly wouldn't be able to pick up even if they had help from another.

He walked elegantly as usualy, his lab coat ruffling from the wide open door that let in the cool refreshing night breeze in.

"Mr. Paterson, a pakage from one of the many investors, its from Mr. Takeshiro, he wanted to give his thanks for completing the deal from the last upgrade." The desk assistant said as she gave a charming smile to her boss's beautiful son.

"Thank you Ashley, you can come up." Keaton motioned for the bot to follow along with him as both went to his floor.

The bot beside him was very handsome, more so than the usual bots that his mother would create, so far none of the models look like this.

"Are you a model Mr. Takeshiro made?" Keaton questioned.

"Yes, the only one in existence, he modeled me after his late son who died a year ago in a car crash." The bot said as the usual stoic expression on every bot had, yet people would program their bots to smile at others, this one didn't.

"Well you do look exactly like Tanaka, it's amazing." Keaton said as his hand reached out to touch the straight black hair styled into a wild yet elegant way.

His slender fingers caressed and followed the nicely chiseled jaw line and narrowed sharp eyes.

"You knew Mr. Hiro?" The bot said, in seems like it had a sequence to produce conversation, which intrigued Keaton.

"Yes, he was a fine gentleman, although he on the hand had his own so called personality, he was secluded in his own world and would often only ever come out when necessary." Keaton said as he retracted his artificial warmth.

"..." The bot kept an eye on Keaton and only snapped out of his rude gesture when the elevator doors opened.

"You can place it next to the sofa, tell Mr. Takeshiro thank you." Keaton said with a warm and gentle smile he would only give to the female lead.

"Of course, good night Mr. Paterson." The bot bowed as he was programmed by the culture of the Japanese.

"Yes, good night... Hiro." Keaton said, instead of calling it something like robot or tin can, he gave it a name instead, like he himself had.

Hiro returned to the still opened elevator door and froze when hearing the name. But didn't say much at the small movement malfunction, letting the door close as he returned back to his master.
