Waking up to the incessant sound of my alarm clock. I tapped the button to shut the voice and rubbed my eyes. A person should be allowed to sleep for some more time on her birthday at least.

Yesterday I slept late, as I got a video call from my father. A smile curved on my lips as he wished me so excitedly. It felt very nice to see him so happy and chirpy but still, I could see how he wanted me to be there with him. They asked my plans for my birthday and I discussed with them about how my friends were asking me for a treat and how I completely forgot about today. Shaking their heads, they laughed hearing me. Bidding them bye, I attended the calls which were from my friends and replied to the people who had messaged me. After all these things, I slept at 3 am in the morning.

Yawning, I got up from the bed and headed to the washroom for my morning chores. After having a nice warm bath, I felt fresh and I grabbed a new pair of a blouse and pencil skirt which I had brought last week as people should wear new clothes on their birthdays or so my mother says.

I grabbed an apple and left for office as I didn't feel like having anything today. I reached office half an hour early today even though there was traffic due to some constructions going on.

This is the main problem in metro cites, Construction of something or the other is always going on leading to bottleneck traffic jam.

I went inside the office and headed straight towards my cabin. As soon as I got inside the cabin, a golden gift box and a red rose caught my eyes. Keeping my bag on the side of the desk. I opened the box to find a note, a small card along with a fluffy pouch kind of a thing. I saw the card and smiled before opening the pouch. I opened the pouch to reveal a stunning rose gold watch. I was surprised by one thing that I didn't feel restless or anxious considering the actions of this guy. I should have felt that but, on the contrary, what I felt was unexplainable contentment. Clutching the note in my hand, I closed my eyes and tried to control the overwhelming emotions that were building inside me.

Who is this guy? Why the hell is he investing so much time and money on me? What he needs from me when I have nothing to offer?

I was lost in my thoughts when someone barged in my cabin. Opening my eyes, I looked at the people who were grinning at me. Yes, There were my friends. Keeping the note aside, I hugged each one and them and thanked them for their wishes.

" So what's the plan today ?" Aditi asked while each one of us grabbed a chair.

"Well, I have a mind-blowing place in my mind to which we can go " Aakash said with such zeal that it made me chuckle.

" Well well, what is this? " Aakash asked pointing at the gift box and the watch which was lying on the table.

" See it by yourself," I said and sighed. Aakash picked up the note while the girls started examining the watch and card.

" OH MY GOD! THIS IS A WATCH FROM A LUXURY BRAND " Aditi shouted with excitement and Anvi smacked her for being loud.

" I know but it doesn't matter as anyway I am not accepting it, " I said and closed my eyes, leaning back on my chair.

" Oh Come on! Are you serious? He will feel so bad if you do that " Aditi exclaimed and her eyes widened in surprise.

" Aditi that watch involves a lot of money and I don't even know this guy. How can I accept such a precious item from him? " I asked, trying to put some sense in her.

"Yes, I think you are right," Anvi said and smiled at me making me smile back at her.

" I do understand your point Meghna but that guy is also not a fool, right? And he is from our office only so we know that he is safe !" Aditi said in exasperation.

" That's the point Aditi! All my work will mess up if someone comes to know as you know it doesn't take time for people to make things. Plus, the guy can be from our office but that doesn't give us proof that we can trust him. " I said and Aditi sighed in chagrin.

" But how will you return it back ?" Anvi asked; looking concerned.

" I will give it back his way " I winked making her smile. All this while, Aakash kept quiet and didn't quite pay attention to our talks. It was like he was lost somewhere.

"Aakash what happened? You have been quiet from the time you have read that note " I asked him which snapped him from his trance.

" I was just thinking about this guy! Being a guy and having many friends of different natures I was just trying to understand this guy. " He said while playing with the note in his hand.

" So what does your study says about this guy ?"I asked him and us girls chuckled expecting a funny remark from him.

" I think this guy likes you or wants something from you," He said and all our chuckling evaporated in thin air.

" The possibility of the latter is very less considering the watch he has given you. This itself says that the guy passing you these notes is not an ordinary employee in this building. " Aakash said I studied his face for any trace of humour but there was none.

" So is this a good thing or bad thing, " Anvi asked innocently making all of us chuckle despite the seriousness present in the atmosphere.

" We cannot say Anvi. But let's just say that it is going to be quite adventurous for her " He said to Anvi making her look at me with a worried expression.

"Oye! Stop scaring the girls. What all happens, happens for good. " Aditi smacked Aakash's head making him glare at her.

" Till when he will hide? One day or the other he will have to face her. That time we will see. Why should we worry about the things which have not happened only " Aditi stated and we all gave her a small smile in the same way as a child gives to his mother when she slightly scolds him. Well, That's Aditi for you guys. She can be a parent to you as well as a child depending upon the situation.

" So I want to tell you something," Aakash said to me with a very serious expression.

" NOW ALSO SOMETHING IS LEFT TO TELL OR WHAT?" I shouted with wide eyes making everybody laugh.

" Arre I was saying you are going to have our lunch with us. " H said and I rushed to him. I twisted his ear till his ear got red while the girls smiled looking at our banter.

" Ouch Woman! Stop being so violent " He said and rubbed his ear making me laugh.

" Serves you right for scaring me, " I said with a proud smile before we all had a hearty laugh and then we got back to work.
