20: Jade

[[One Year Later]]

I woke up that morning and realized that it was the day that I promised Coop that I would be back in London for her wedding. The wedding wasn’t for another four days. I just got up and dressed as I headed out. The bar downstairs was still open, but it was only selling breakfast, so I figured that I would get a quick bite to eat before I left.

As I was eating, I pulled out my, now worn, picture of Georgie. It had been a whole three years since I had seen his face or heard his voice. I missed him more and more every day. There felt like there was this huge hole in my chest that should be filled with his love. I was about to give up. What if the reason I couldn’t find him was that he was dead? I shook my head and that thought out of it. I had to stay positive.

“More pumpkin juice?” A waitress asked, indicating my empty goblet.

I nodded before she poured. I was going to need be hydrated for when I got back to England. Coop’s mother was going to run me ragged; I knew it, mainly because I haven’t been there since the beginning of the wedding planning. I’m glad I wasn’t though. I was glad that Coop was marrying Draco though. I have learned that Blaise was not the best guy, and I regret ever trying to talk Coop out of being with Draco. They are perfect for each other.

“Who is that?” the waitress said while pointing at my picture of Georgie.

“That’s my boyfriend, George Weasley. He’s been missing, and I’ve been searching for him for over a year,” I explained as the waitress beamed at me.

“That’s so sweet,” she gushed, “I’ve seen him in here though.”

“Really?” I asked, looking up at her immediately.

I haven’t had any sign that George was even in Romania. No one had seen or heard of him. I was planning on just staying in England and just giving up after Coop’s wedding, but this waitress changed my mind instantly.

“Yeah, but he didn’t call himself George Weasley. He said his name was Georgie Robertson,” the woman then looked at her like she was recalling something, “He left here in a frantic actually. A man he had been sitting with had upset him for some reason.”

I smiled to myself because Georgie remembered me. He called himself my nickname for him along with his last name. He remembered, and he still loved me! Well, on some level if he hasn’t already remembered everything yet.

“When was this?” I asked her as I stood up.

“About two weeks ago.”

“Thank you so much,” I said as I handed her a wad of cash and ran out of the restaurant.

Forgive me, Coop, I said in my head, I’m going to be here for a little while longer looking for my Georgie.
