18: Jade
Jay,
I miss you so much! I hope that you come home soon. You’ll have to come home eventually though, seeing that Draco and I are getting married! We don’t have a date set yet, but I’ll keep you posted. You are my maid of honor anyway! I love and miss you so much!
Love,
Coop
I rolled my eyes at Coop’s letter. How could she say yes to him? I know that she still loves Blaise. I also know that she was afraid that Blaise wasn’t coming back. I was a little worried too, but I pushed that out of my head. I had to keep positive, which was hard to do with Pansy around. We had been traveling together for about three weeks. She was still annoying and snotty like I remember. Plus, we haven’t made any progress for there being two of us. We had been to four towns and found nothing.
“I think we should head south and not west anymore. We might have more luck,” Pansy said from acriss the room.
“No,” I said rudely, “We’re almost to the border. Then we should head north. I think that’s what George would do.”
“Who cares what George would do? We should go south because that’s what Blaise would do,” she stood up then and went to the door.
“Where are you going?” I said, sitting up on my elbows on my bed.
“Down to the bar. I need a drink,” she slammed the door behind her.
It’s about time, I thought as I jumped off my bed. I started to grab my things. It was not worth it. I was going to leave tonight and leave Pansy in my dust. It was more likely that I was going find them anyway. I have had more training in this area. She was just trying to be a know-it-all.
“What are you doing?” I heard Pansy from the door.
“What are you doing?” I asked back, frozen to the spot I was at.
“I forgot my purse.”
“Oh, good. I’m leaving,” I said as I resumed what I was doing.
“Why?” she stepped closer.
“Isn’t it obvious?” I zipped up one of my bags.
“I know we don’t get along, but we’re doing this for a good cause,” she smiled at me.
“No, I am. You’re looking for someone that has pledged his life to someone else,” I said as I grabbed my other bag and headed for the door, but Pansy blocked the exit.
“What do you mean? Blaise promised me that he would come back and marry me. That we will grow old together,” she lost her smile, “He told me that during the Great War, when he made me stay in the Slytherin common room.”
“What? “ I set my bags down, “He made Cooper stay in the Room of Requirement and promised her that they would spend the rest of their lives together.”
“Cooper Lawrence?” She laughed, “She never had a chance with him.”
“What are you talking about?” I started to step closer to her.
“He told me that she was his first love but not his true love. When he realized he was in love with me, she was just a shag. Until I finally fell in love with him.”
“When did you fall in love with him?” I was still getting closer to her.
“While Cooper was in France that summer before seventh year, I was seeing Blaise. He told me that they were broken up, and I believed him until he took me back to his place. We found Cooper in his bed. Then after Blaise got rid of her, he explained it to me, and we made love for the first time,” she said with a dreamy look on her face.
“I should deck you right now,” I got up in her face.
“For what?”
“For stealing Blaise from Cooper!” I yelled and punched her right in the mouth.
As she was grabbing her face, I was grabbing my bags. I took a second to laugh at her bleeding lips, then I left the room, “Bye, Slut,” I called to her as I left the room.
