11: Cooper
“She took off!” I yelled as soon as Draco closed the door to his office, “Took off on a search that will get her nowhere!”
“Who are we talking about?” Draco asked as he spotted the basket, “Are those cookies?”
“Yes, here,” she said handing him the basket and sitting down in one of the chairs, “Jay took off to Romania!”
“Jay! What in the bloody hell was she thinking?! We need her on that case!” Draco looked angry as he took a bite out of one of the cookies, “Good cookies.”
“Thanks, but Draco, I don’t think my cookies are the issue here,” I walked over and took the cookie out of his hand and threw it in the garbage, “Jay took off to Romania because that’s where she thinks George Weasley is. This case that you put her on has driven her mad! Completely bonkers!”
“Maybe I should’ve thought it out before hand, but her and Ron are my best team when it comes to muggle artifacts,” he stood up when he said that and put his arms around me, “I’m sorry, Rae.”
“Its okay, Drake,” I then put my head on his warm chest.
Draco had started calling me Rae since I told him it was my middle name.
“You’re my ray of sunshine in the darkness, Coop, so I’m going to call you Rae.”
I smiled to myself as I remembered him saying that. He smiled down at me and leaned in. We kissed like it was our first kiss, and all of my worry and frustration went away. A knock on the door made us stop as Ron walked in.
“I’m sorry, am I interrupting?” Ron looked from me to Draco, “Coop? You’re with him?” He looked confused.
“Yes, I am,” I then grabbed my purse because I guessed this was my cue to go, “I’ll see you later, Drake.”
“I’ll pick you up for dinner then?” He said as I looked back at him.
“Of course,” I smiled as I left him and Ron to talk.
When I got home, I put all the cooking stuff away and cleaned the kitchen spotless. Doing muggle work really takes your mind of things. I didn’t think about Jay until I went upstairs to change for my date with Drake. I saw her room, sitting empty. All her clothes were gone and that picture of George was gone. I then heard a knock on the door, forgetting to change and answered the door.
“Hey, Rae,” he said as he kissed me hello.
“Hay, Drake. Where to today?” she asked as she grabbed her purse.
“You’ll see.”
We arrived outside a club. I looked at him and smiled. I had never been to a club before, and her knew that too from the look on my face.
“I thought I would take you dancing,” he told me as we went past the bouncer.
The flashes of light and loud music made my head spin. I didn’t know if I could take it, but once Drake gave me something to drink, it loosened me up. We danced and danced and danced until our feet hurt, and I had consumed about four or five drinks when Drake asked me if I wanted to get out of there.
“Sure,” I said mid giggle.
When he walked me to my door, he kissed me. I opened the door as he started walking away.
“Wait,” I called to him, “Do you want to come inside?”
