10: Jade

Coop had been acting weird the past two weeks. She hummed and danced and skipped. Its what she did when she and Blaise first got together. I wanted to puke! How could she be in love with Draco? Blaise was coming home, I was making sure of that.

“I don’t know about this, Jay,” Ron said as I told him my idea.

“Why not? I’m sure we can get permission for it!”

“I don’t want to leave the country after just having a baby. What are you on?” The funny thing was, he looked serious about that last comment.

“We need to do this for the case!” I screamed at him.

“No, Jay,” he stood up, “You need to do this for you.”

“What is that supposed to mean?!” I was offended.

“Going to Romania? We could easily figure out this case here!”

“We need to be there!” I felt tears stinging my eyes.

“No, we don’t! You just want to look for George, when for all we know, he might not even be there!” Ron was now pacing from his desk to me.

I just stared at him. He was right. We didn’t need to go for the case. I needed to go, to find my Georgie. And that was exactly what I was going to do! I grabbed my purse.

“I didn’t mean it, Jay!” Ron tried to stop me.

“Yes, you did,” I looked at him through my tears, “You are right.”

I then left the office and with a POP! I was in mine and Coop’s house. Today was her day off, so naturally she’s in the kitchen making cookies. What a second! I walked back into the kitchen. She only made cookies if she was going to bring them to someone, either sick or special to her.

“Are you making cookies for Draco?” I asked as I walked closer to her.

“Yea! Sugar cookies. You want one?” she asked as she handed me one.

“You only ever made sugar cookies for Blaise,” I had noticed that. If it was for anyone else, she made chocolate chip or snicker doodle.

“Well, now I’m making them for Draco,” she smiled as she placed them into a basket, “What are you doing home so early?”

“I’ve done it!” I squealed, I hadn’t planned on telling her but it looked like I was, “I’ve found out what has happened to Blaise and George!”

“What?” she lost her smile.

“So,” I said after I finished telling her the whole story, “I’m going to Romania to find them! Want to come with?”

“Romania? Jay, are you sure about this?”

“I’m as sure as I am in love with Georgie,” I smiled at her.

“Count me out,” she said as she picked up the basket of cookies.

“Why?” I followed her into the living room.

“Because, Jay, I’m happy right now,” she smiled them, “Happier than when I was with Blaise, ever! Can’t you just let this be? You don’t even know for sure if they’re still there.”

“I have to try,” I said in almost a whisper.

“Fine then! Go!” She then slammed the door shut behind her but came right back in, “Write me okay?” she asked as she pulled me into a hug.

“I was already going to!”

She then left. That was it. I packed my bags, making sure I had my picture of Georgie. Then made sure everything in the house was in order. POP! And I was on my way to Romania.
