"Uhm," I didn't really know what to say. Why was everyone staring at me? Jeez, people don't know how to mind their own business.
My head snapped to Zayn.

"I hope you don't mind, but it kind slipped," He said with a sheepish grin.

How does that slip out?

"It's fine," I said, smiling at him.

"Bhai, why is it a big deal?" I asked my nosy brother.

"It isn't, but I'm sure he would know if you got the job."

I punched him. What's wrong with him? How did HE get married? That is just so rude to ask!

"I would tell you, but I was just filling in for Mr. Robinson, ultimately it's his decision," Zayn said.

I just smiled and walked away, glaring at Bhai. My brother is such an idiot.

All the girls were eating in Rukaiya & Fatima's room. We were all talking when suddenly I bit into an elachi.

GROSS

I tried to grab a glass of water, but no one had water with them!!
Who eats with no water?
Unbelievable
So like any other person, I ran down to the empty kitchen and grabbed a water bottle.
Gosh, I hate elachi's

I finished drinking the water and was walking back up when I slipped.
And my life flashed before my eyes...

I braced for the pain and was ready to feel my face on the floor when instead, I was met with golden caramel eyes.

His hands were on my waist.

I quickly cleared my throat and stepped away.

"Well, aren't you clumsy," He said with a chuckle.

Not knowing what to say or what to do, I just smiled. I'm so awkward, oh my goodness. I was about to walk away when I felt a hand on my wrist.

I turned around, and he quickly let go of my arm, and I heard a little "Astaghfirullah."

"Uh... I just wanted to let you know you uhh... that you got the job," He said with a nervous smile, and he walked away, brushing past me as I stood there like an idiot.

"So are you going to tell me how the interview went," Bhabi asked. We were both standing by the door while everyone else was bidding goodbye. Knowing our family, we'll be standing here for another hour just saying goodbye.

"Like any other interview but instead of a stranger, you see your new besties cousin, " I remarked, referring to the twins.

Bhabi gave me a look, so I told her how it went...

"Zayn?" I asked as I looked around

This did look like Mr. Robinson's office. I saw a couple of certifications on the wall, the walls were brown, and the room itself was pretty bland. Kind of like the stereotypical dull image you get when you think of "Lawyer."

"Oh yeah, I'm just filling in for Mr. Robinson, but if you'd like, you can come back another day for the interview."

I just drove 45 mins. No way in hell is I leaving without doing this interview.

"Oh no, it's okay," I said as I sat down.

"Okay then, so let's begin!" he said with a little clap and an adorable smile.

"That's a boring interview," Bhabi said in a very bored tone.

"All interviews are boring."

She then looked up at me with a devious look on her face

"Do you like him?" She said with a smirk.

I choked on my own spit.

I just told her about a boring interview that he just happens to be there that day. Where did she draw that conclusion, I swear-

"Oh, come on! He's definitely not ugly, and he's a sweetheart, and I've seen the way you both look at each other! I've known him all my life. He'd be the perfect husband for you."

And at that, I started laughing so hard I thought I'd die.

The looks we give each other? Sweetheart? PERFECT HUSBAND?

As we walked down the stairs and into our car, I said

"Bhabi, you know I love you, but when I said I wasn't getting married, I MEANT it."

"Oh come on, hun, you just haven't given anyone a try."

"Exactly! and I plan on keeping it like that," I said as I slammed the door.
