[Author's Pov]: LONG CHAPTER WARNING!!
Tatooine: Jabba's home entrance with Obiwan Kenobi...
Once Obiwan Kenobi's ship landed at Jabba the Hut's home, he got out and began to wear his brown cape; his droid started beeping in worry for its owner, to which he reassured the droid that everything was going to be okay, and as expected, the Jedi was welcomed by Jabba's translator and his troops walking towards his way before it spoke:
"---We should not keep the Wise and Powerful Jabba waiting.---"
"I wouldn't dream of it." He shrugged before he followed them inside the temple. All eyes were on him since they all had a visitor from the outer rim; after being escorted to the main room, dancers and bounty hunters were all over the room as there, in the middle, sat the only Jabba the Hut in his chair of glory; Obiwan, on the other hand, stood in front of him and began to speak:
"Mighty Jabba," he said, "One of our most powerful Jedi is on his way to rescue your son. We would not let you down."
Jabba's translator droid listens to Mighty Jabba's original Huttese language for a moment before translating for Obiwan to hear it, "---The most gracious Jabba has one more small condition." The droid elaborated, "---He demands that you bring back the slime, who kidnap his little punky muffin.---" As soon as Obiwan hears the word 'punky,' he slightly smiles in amusement: " 'Punky?' " He quietly snorted until Jabba speaks again to his translator and translates, "---Dead or Alive. If you do not succeed, Count Dooku and his droid army will.---"
Back to Anakin and Ashoka...
"How's her health?" Anakin starts to ask the doctor's droid.
"According to the charts of my calculations, Master Skywalker." The doctor's droid said, "She's indeed malnourished and requires medical attention immediately." Ashoka also comes in with Rotta (Jabba's baby son) in her arms; when her eyes land on the prisoner woman resting on the medical bed while being covered in a spare cloak that Anakin had given her earlier, he nods, his concern evident.
"We can't leave her like this," he told the doctor droid. "What do you need to do to treat her?"
The droid doctor replied, "She needs to be properly nourished and hydrated, and we need to address any specific medical issues she may have. I will begin the treatment when you both return." The droid started to prepare the necessary equipment and medications before turning off the communication.
Ahsoka gently holds Rotta and the baby Hutt inside her backpack before turning her attention to the prisoner woman. Guilt is written over her face, and she says, "We can't just ignore her condition, Master." She says this with determination.
Anakin agreed, looking at the woman with empathy and concern, "We'll make sure she gets the care she needs," he said; on the way back to the ship, Anakin got a beeper from his holographic device, got the message, immediately turns it on to see his Master, Obiwan Kenobi's hologram call: "-Anakin, did you locate Jabba's son?-"
"We have him." Anakin replied, "But it looks like the Separatists are behind his abduction. Smells like Count Dooku to me." The word 'Count Dooku' made the prisoner wide awake in fear, and she immediately gripped onto it before she went deeper into Anakin's armored chest as she whimpered a bit, it was taken notice when Obi-Wan's eyes landed on her: "-Who is that you carry, Anakin?-"
"It's complicated... apparently, Snips and I had found her. She is also a prisoner." Anakin glanced down at the woman in his arms, who was visibly distressed by the mention of Count Dooku. He gently stroked her hair to comfort her, which did the trick as the prisoner sighed in relief and glanced at Obi-Wan's holographic image.
Who displayed a furrowed brow as he processed the new information. "-I see. We'll discuss this further when you return, Anakin.-" Obiwan met the prisoner's bluebell eyes for a few moments before he turned his attention away by stroking his beard to think, "-For now, focus on the task at hand. I'll bet that Count Dooku is using us to get Jabba to join the Separatists.-"
Obi-Wan's hologram flickered when Ashoka spoke up, "Master Kenobi, we have another problem." She says, letting him see Rotta in her backpack, "This Huttlet is very sick."
"I'm unsure if we can return him to Tatooine alive, Master." Anakin chimed in. "This may backfire on us; I still don't think dealing with the Hutts is a good idea."
The argument continues.
As the prisoner observes Obiwan, Ashoka, and Anakin's actions, she understands that their objective is to help the little one return home, ignoring her own plight. She feels a twinge of disappointment and sadness, but she won't let it weigh her down. A sudden surge of hunger rumbles through her stomach, but she refuses to let it overpower her.
She clenches her fists and takes a deep breath, determined to hide her embarrassment. surprisingly, the trio takes notice of her hunger. even Obiwan can see it and speaks, "-Is she hungry?-" The prisoner nodded shyly; Anakin, on the other hand, showed a hint of amusement and nodded to his fellow Jedi master:
"Yes, Master. Since she was with the Huttlet," he responded, "I'll need to find more food for her to eat." Obi-Wan nodded in agreement. His concern for the Huttlet was evident. Not only that, the prisoner is also malnourished and needs to be properly taken care of. Anakin asked her if she could stand. She shook her head, and he placed her beside the communicator on top of a crater while Ahsoka hurried to find food to feed her with her master.
He left Obi-Wan's holographic figure standing atop a crater while contemplating the situation. As he watched the prisoner already being seated, staring into the distance and looking lost, Obi-Wan couldn't help but feel empathy for her. She was caught in the midst of a conflict that wasn't her own, yet she showed bravery and resilience.
"-I will ensure that you receive proper care,-" Obi-Wan said softly to the prisoner, "-You deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of the circumstances that brought you here.-"
The prisoner looked up at him with gratitude in her bluebell eyes, a silent thanks passing between them. Obi-Wan knew that there was more to her story than met the eye, and he was determined to unveil the truth. But for now, he needed to focus on rescuing Jabba's son, returning him home safely, and later bringing the prisoner for proper medical treatment.
"T...Thank you... Obiwan." Despite struggling to talk, the prisoner pronounced a "thank you" and his name through his hologram, eliciting a chuckle in return with a gentle smile as her hunger temporarily sated (Thanks to Anakin and Ashoka). Anakin and Ashoka return by handing her a water bottle and some bread.
She smiles a bit before nibbling the food carefully as the conversation from earlier continues again: "-Anakin. Remember, if we don't safely give Jabba's son to him, our peace treaty with the Hutts will disappear.-"
Anakin smiled at her and looked down at the woman, his expression a mix of sympathy, "We've got a mission to complete, but don't worry, we'll keep you safe," he reassured her when suddenly, Ahsoka looks up and points at the sky: "Uh, Master! We've got trouble!"
Of course, the anxiety and fear of being taken by the Separatist increased the prisoner's heart, and Anakin immediately lifted her in his arms protectively.
"-Anakin!-" Before Obiwan could say anything, Anakin immediately told him:
"I'll have to call you back, Master! We're under attack, and we could use a little help here if you have time!"
"-I'll get there as soon as I can. Protect the Hutt and the prisoner, Anakin!-" He ends the call as everyone gets in defense positions.
Time skip~ brought to you by Wookies...
Once Anakin had Rotta on his backpack (since it was his turn), R2-D2, Ashoka, and the prisoner got off the giant bug; as soon as they all landed, the prisoner went to the floor on her knees and vomited.
Anakin came to her aid by lifting her long pink hair from getting dirty while his padawan held her shoulders before saying, "I'm guessing that you aren't fond of flying." Ashoka asked jokingly, making the prisoner woman nod as Anakin noticed the bruises on her neck.
Narrowing his eyes at this, he shakes it off before he offers to lift her. The prisoner silently agrees as she sees him as an older brother figure; Anakin continues carrying her while walking together while holding Jabba's son in his backpack, as Ashoka pauses her steps to see the old ship:
"We're taking this junk?" she asks her Master, which makes the woman shiver a bit from the cold. But she stares at the junk that Ashoka had called earlier and looks up at Anakin: "We'd be better off on that big bug."
"Get abroad and prime the engines. I'm assuming it has the engines." He said before he handed R2-D2 Jabba's son, Rotta. The prisoner woman, however, glares at it, Making the droid float with her powers.
"Droid...danger..." She hissed in anger; R2-D2 yelped at the sudden flotation as Anakin turned around to see who was causing his companion to do it. He comes to find out and learns that the prisoner was doing it. In conclusion, he notices something about her:
"You have the force?..." He spoke in shock as she repeated what she said, "Droid...danger." She repeated her hiss of anger, already sensing her having the force; Anakin immediately calmed her down by saying:
"Hey, Hey, it's okay. Calm down. R2-D2 is a friend. Now try not to float him...trust me." Her angered eyes soften before the droid collapses on its side, and Anakin lifts it to its pedes and walks over to her.
"Look, I'll show you." The prisoner turns her attention to R2-D2, who starts taking out its metal stick hand as it turns to a handshake: "See?" "... okay." Those were the only words she said before she hesitantly shook its hand, making her smile a bit, and did the same with Rotta.
After that, the prisoner woman hugged the cloak around herself, when all of a sudden, she turned around to follow Ashoka only to be met by the identical Separatist droids that had kept her in the abandoned monastery as an infant made the prisoner woman, enraged; she gripped her pale hands into fists before she uses the force with her bluebell eyes.
As soon as they've all gotten destroyed by squeezing them until their heads pop out of their head, all the droids have just collapsed. Ashoka keeps her lightsaber, "I could handle it, Master."
"Snips." Anakin points at the prisoner: "It was her."
"Wait, she has the force? You have the force?" Ashoka blinked a couple of times when she nodded and followed inside until the prisoner woman felt drained and collapsed; luckily, his padawan caught her on time before the duo entered the ship. Once inside, Ashoka puts the prisoner woman on the cotton inside the vessel for her to rest and checks the engines, whereas Anakin walks over to the woman and explains.
"Okay, since it was your first time you used the force." He continues, "You should sleep here for the time being." Anakin tells the prisoner, who was nervously nodding before laying down inside his cloak, to which he smiles a bit, and as soon as he was to leave her alone, she grabs onto his wrist: "Don't....go..."
"I have to, and I must get you to safety." He sighs as he turns around to kneel to make eye contact with her, showing his sincerity and promise: "But hey, I promise to come back and see you, okay?" She's hesitant for a moment before letting him go and slowly falls asleep.
Secretly, Anakin assigns another droid doctor, who had been in recharge inside a capsule before it had turned itself on and went to tend to the prisoner woman's medical condition without scaring or waking her up from her sleep, "I will ensure that she is well treated."
Anakin thanks the droid doctor and stays for a bit in case she attacks another droid, but surprisingly, nothing happens. According to the droid doctor, she is in a deep sleep with the amount of exhaustion, malnourishment, and dehydration. It tends to her wounds as Anakin leaves to check on his padawan in the engine room.
"Now, let's get Stinky out of here." Anakin turns on the ship while Ashoka puts Rotta on her lap by sitting next to her Master, who grows impatient and groans with the baby Hutlet whimpering from the weak engine sounds: "Relax, Snips. R2, see if you can spark the ignition couplers."
R2 turns over and starts fixing the problem. It then turns and beeps a couple of times and Anakin hums. "Okay, that's not it. Try opening the fuel lifters all the way." Finally, he flies the ship with ease, "Good work, buddy."
R2 cheerfully beeps at his compliment; while flying the ship, Ashoka and Anakin look ahead to see more Star-fighter ships shooting at the abandoned monastery, "Master Kenobi is here. Ashoka excitedly said: "Now we'll see some real fireworks."
She teases her Master with a smirk, who is slightly offended by her statement, "Excuse me? And what I've been doing all day?" "I don't know, the word 'reckless' comes to mind." She innocently replied, "Oh, have you considered giving her a name?" Mentioning the prisoner woman they had found at the abandoned monastery, "I think we should call her...Elisa?"
Anakin guessed, which made his padawan smile, and nodded: "Perfect name, Master. It's better than the prisoner." Both agree to it as they continue flying.
Time skip again~
After finding out that they cannot get to Tatooine unless Rota is well taken care of, Ashoka soothes him by telling her Master that she doesn't think that they could make it. Anakin, her Master, on the other hand, thought the opposite: "Take a look at the back," he continued, "See if you can find some medical supplies in the back and check on Elisa."
"On it." His padawan gets up with Rotta wailing sickly a bit as Anakin continues to fly the ship; Ashoka confidently approaches the prisoner woman, giving her a new name, and sees her sitting up, learning that she had just awakened from her sleep with her body cleaned up and covered in bandages on one of her injuries.
"Hello, Elisa. I'm glad to see you're awake. Did you sleep well?" Ashoka asks, expecting a clear response. The prisoner woman, Elisa, looked confused, prompting Ashoka to assert, "That's your new name now. Do you like it?" She quietly struggles to answer, encouraging the padawan to explain again, "Do you like your new name?"
Elisa nods, and Ashoka continues, "Good. Right now, I need to look for something. You're injured, so you should stay here."
Elisa insists, "... I want to help."
Ashoka stares at her: "Are you sure? I can't force you to do anything, plus you're injured."
She stares insistingly at her and sighs but ultimately agrees: "Fine, but be careful. We need to find medical supplies." As they begin searching, Ashoka continues to assert her authority: "Stay close to me, Elisa. I don't want you to get hurt."
They bond a bit during their search, and when Ashoka finally finds what she needs, "Looks like it hasn't been used in a while."
"Hm." Both girls see the holographic form of the doctor's droid. The doctor droid began mumbling something, and Ashoka asked, "Doctor droid, can you hear me?"
"/Yes, what seems to be the problem?/" He questioned before Elisa softly stood behind her and listened: "Great, I've got a sick Huttlet. Got any remedy?"
"...he... alright?" She struggled a bit but managed a bit since she had a bit of nutrition and hydration in her system, thanks to the doctor droid, who used the proper scanning on Rotta and spoke:
"/Oh yes, I see./" The droid continues, "/You must dispense one of these medical boosters into the infant's mouth. If you have any problems, please call an actual doctor to assist you/."
"And what about Elisa?" Ashoka asks about her health, "/Since she has been well-treated by me, she will need to meet and go to an actual doctor as soon as possible/." Elisa raises an eyebrow in curiosity about what a hospital is but stays silent.
After Doctor Droid's hologram disappears, Ashoka feeds Rotta a medicine pill to keep him healthy, whereas Elisa looks closely at the stick. She points at it so the padawan knows what she's thinking and happily explains.
Once done, Ashoka came to the front engines where Anakin was, who turned to see her with Elisa, "I see she's awake. How's she feeling?"
"Elisa, Master. Her new name is Elisa." Anakin's warm smile grew wider as he heard the name Elisa.
"Elisa, it is then," he said, greeting the woman with a friendly nod. "Welcome aboard, Elisa. Also, you might want to buckle up." Elisa's shyness slowly gave way to a small, timid smile as she looked at Anakin and then back to Ahsoka. She was in the company of Jedi, and it was overwhelming for her. She walks over to sit next to Ashoka, making her feel more at ease.
Ahsoka could see Elisa was starting to feel comfortable around them. She crouched down to Elisa's level and asked, "Elisa, do you know where you come from? Other than being in the abandoned monastery?" Elisa's expression turned thoughtful, and she hesitated momentarily before speaking. "...don't remember... I...taken. Then...you both...found me."
Ahsoka nodded understandingly, "Don't worry, Elisa. We're here to help you and keep you safe. We're on an important mission, and you're part of our team now."
Anakin said, "And we'll ensure you get to a safe place and learn more about your past."
Elisa's eyes lit up with gratitude. As the duo talked, Rotta began to show signs of improvement. Ahsoka continued soothing Rotta's head for comfort: "The medicine, it's working!" Ahsoka remarked, relieved, "His fever broke. I think he's going to live to stink another day."
This made Elisa giggle at the last sentences, while Anakin managed to make the spaceship fly itself automatically. He begins taking some tools from R2 to fix something on the engine:
"Great. Anakin replied, "Keeping him alive isn't as easy as you hoped, was it?"
This made Ashoka cross her arms with a stern look, "Master, if you had taught me one thing, it's that nothing is easy when you are around." Elisa nodded in agreement but still struggled to speak; Anakin felt defeated by two women gaining the upper hand over him: "You think Rex and Obiwan made it out okay?"
"If I know my old Master," Anakin continues repairing, "He has things well in hand. Now, please help me with this. I want the primary systems fully repaired when we reach Tatooine." Elisa gets off her seat and walks over to R2 before she tugs on his uniform. Anakin looks down and sees that she is shaking her head at what he is doing; it leaves him confused until he understands what she means.
"R2, pass me another one." R2 hands one to her and gets floated up by Anakin's force, which he watches Elisa fixing neatly. She takes the wires and then retracts something, and by the time she is done, the primary systems are fully repaired in no time. "Wow, you must be a tech kinda gal?"
"I...felt...did.." She shyly replies, making Anakin chuckle knowing full well that Jedi's have a tendency to easily understand machinery, before gently ruffling her hair and watching Elisa walk back to her seat where Rotta was. Meanwhile, Ashoka smiled before she turned her attention to her master, Skywalker, by mentioning her home planet: "You grew up on Tatooine, right?" She says, "So, for you, this trip is like going home."
"Yeah. Home." Elisa noticed Anakin's smile deepening into a frown as if in deep thought. She felt his emotions, anger, pain, and sadness swelling up, so, for some unknown reason, the force that Elisa found out (she still doesn't know how to control it yet) started to send force healing to him. Before she felt herself taking the emotions away, it made her grip the arm of her seat tightly.
Once the hyperjump space had ended, Elisa fell soundly asleep next to the baby Huttlet, Rotta, for warmth as Ashoka covered her in a white blanket from one of the cupboards: "I was hoping I'd never have to look at this dust ball again, Okay?" Anakin starts by turning on the shield protectors to ensure a safe flight.
"Okay. What happened?" Ashoka questions. "I don't want to talk about it." He changes the subject by ignoring his padawan's question: "How's Stinky holding up?"
Ashoka softly says, "He seems to be feeling much better. She replies, "His fever is gone. Even you have to admit he's cute when he's asleep." Anakin sighs: "I admit I like him better when he's quiet. And what about Elisa?"
"Well, since we found her in the abandoned monastery, we brought her with us, then gave her a name." Anakin glances at Elisa's frail body next to Rotta, who seems to see her resting while the memories of his guilt for not saving his mother have disappeared. Knowing that he saved someone else's life from having the same fate means that he redeemed the past and is moving on.
"She seems peaceful by the things that have happened to her." Ashoka finished.
R2 strolled in and beeped, "No, R2." Anakin turns to his robot companion: "I want the cannon operational first. Leave the rear deflector shields for later."
"No rear shields, Master?" Ashoka raised an eyebrow at her Master, "That's risky."
Suddenly, something starts to make alarming sounds as they are getting shot at their transportation; they both get ready to fight back. Elisa gets startled by the noise and groans before she hears Anakin saying: "A strong attack eliminates the need for defense, Snips. Attack ships closing!"
Loud blaster sounds coming from behind begin to shoot down the left rocket. Anakin, Ashoka, and R2-D2 are in a spaceship trying to make a landing.
Anakin sarcastically comments, "Somebody doesn't want Stinky to get home in one piece." He grunts, and Ashoka rolls her eyes, "Wow! Quite a welcome-home party!"
R2-D2 starts beeping, and Anakin orders Ahsoka to activate the guns, but she informs him, "Set the approach vector and make it ready to land. Ahsoka, activate the guns! It's too bad you decided not to repair the rear deflector shields." She smirked, knowing she was right all along. Due to the rear deflector shields not being repaired, Anakin was in deep trouble.
Elisa, who was injured, held onto the wall and whimpered as her injuries reopened, "No...fight..." she spoke before he asked, "Damn it, Ashoka. Get Elisa to a chair with seatbelts!" "OK, but what about?—" "Not now, Ahsoka!" Anakin shouted, "R2, see if you can unlock those guns!"
R2-D2 tries its best to do so. Ashoka continues: "Sometimes a good defense is the best offense."
"Why don't you go secure your little Huttlet friend?" Anakin glares and shouts.
"None of us are secure with you flying!" Ashoka tells him before getting up to hold Rotta, but Elisa shakes her head: "I...do it." "Oh? But you should sit down on a seat." Agreeing to it, she gets up and sits next to Ashoka while holding Rotta protectively, "Hang on, back there!"
Anakin orders and Elisa covers the baby Huttlet's sides (I don't know where the ears are) as Rotta continues to sleep on her lap, earning grateful glances from the Jedi and his padawan because they didn't want the baby to cry and whine down to Tatooine.
