Chapter 6. Good Night, Princess
Natsu lay down on the grass and looked up at the trees. Gray leant against a tree and stared at him. "I wasn't sure you were gonna listen to me," Gray said.
"You're my advisor, I should listen to you! Anyways, thank you for bringing sense into me!" Natsu laughed. Gray smirked.
"I didn't know you hated going outside so much? Why do you constantly go outside, maybe I should stop you from going out," Gray laughed.
"Don't go that far!"
"She might be a little girl but she works hard," Erza told Lucy. They sat on a bench and watched the bluenette work away. Her wants glowed a translucent white as she healed the people underneath them.
"I've never seen anything like it," Lucy said, "If only I can learn how to do it, then I won't let Natsu down," Lucy said as she looked at her hands.
"Huh?" Erza asked.
"Natsu gave me a book on Angelic magic to help me get a start but everything seems to fail on me," Lucy groaned.
"I understand, I summoned a sword by accident when I was young, when I tried again, it wouldn't work," Erza laughed.
"Can you do it now?" Lucy asked her.
"Sure, it's like slicing through boundaries!" Erza laughed.
"Luckily I know how to heal injuries manually!" Lucy said to herself. She remembered the time she helped Natsu out the day they all met.
"You're smiling!" Erza teased.
"Shouldn't you be inside?" Lucy asked, "Anyways, when I came here, it was the first time Gray actually said something smart," Lucy said.
"Go on," Erza said. Wendy moved onto the next person after laying out food for the last person.
"It's like, he only talks if it's needed, then Natsu will take him seriously," Lucy said.
"Bingo! And, I can't leave you two alone, strict orders," Erza said to her. Lucy raised her eyebrows and accidently banged her head behind her.
"Why is that?" Lucy asked her.
"You and Wendy do fight a lot and Natsu doesn't want your blood in his hands, too much for him," Erza said. Lucy slowly nodded and watched the clock tick by.
"This room should be the storage of weaponry," Gray said to Natsu. He opened the door for him and waited for a response, not looking at anything there.
"It's empty!" Natsu muttered out.
"Huh? I guess that young man didn't notice it!" Gray said. He shut the door closed and looked at the stone walls. They were dusty and full of dirt between every crack. "And I guess he's too busy trying to help the men and couldn't clean," Gray laughed.
"I guess so, maybe we should look the area! There could be a base," Natsu said to Gray. Gray took the order and followed Natsu around.
"The men seem to be getting better, and with Erza around with her keen senses, I guess the mysterious guy isn't coming out," Natsu told Lucy. "I guess, Erza's scary without even knowing her," He laughed at her.
They were in her bedroom in the fort. It was pretty tiny and it was a pretty tight squeeze. "You should keep that mouth shut of yours, Erza could hear you through the wall," Lucy said. Natsu stiffened and Lucy began to laugh.
"You're that scared of her?" Lucy asked. Natsu softened up.
"Yeah, when I was younger, I challenged her to a fight. I got beat up so bad that I couldn't get out of my bedroom for a month! Apparently, Gray was walking around naked, with his habit, and she beat him up," Natsu laughed.
"Gray never stripped since I've been here, has he gotten over it?" Lucy asked.
"No, it's because I threatened him when you get comfortable, I'll allow him," Natsu smirked.
"I don't think that's necessary!" Lucy said, waving her hands in front of her.
"Then you'll never see the real him," Natsu said. Lucy sighed and they talked for a while. Her last shift was a while ago and Wendy was hard at work downstairs.
"I guess so, maybe I should see the real him. But, remember this, if I shriek, it's all on you," Lucy warned him. Natsu gave out a small laugh and made sure no one could hear him.
"I guess I'll have to save you, now, close your eyes," Natsu said. Lucy looked at him unsurely and closed her eyes.
"One...Two...Three...Fou..." Natsu counted. He could hear her tiny breaths. He lay her down on her bed and placed the blanket over her.
"Na...Nat..."
'I guess she talks in her sleep,' Nastu thought to himself.
"Good night, Princess,"
He walked out the room and rushed to the watch tower.
"I got good news," Gray smirked. Natsu's eyes widened in surprise and became tiny slits.
"Let's go,"
