Zara

"I switched lives..."

"Stop Zara!" Leila's scream pierced the room but I wasn't able to listen to anything, my rational self out of the gutter, everything that comes out of that witch's mouth is a bunch of crap, I will not believe in it as Leila does.

"What do you mean you switched lives?" asked Harry, always the pragmatic in our trio.

"She united her soul with Aini's," which made my powers rage, I heard Leila scream violently, "Zara please stop, you will kill Aini if you kill her, their lives are merged Zara," Leila asserted rapidly, begging me to stop.

Although I didn't want to, I stopped the hazy rope, loosening it a little bit not entirely, I asked Leila to deliberate the witch's deceit.

"It's a spell, the ghosts from our heredity couldn't possess another human, as witches they were powerful, they could manipulate the victim's mind but cannot possess their body. However, if our blood matches with the victim of our heritage, the same group, then the ghosts could merge their lives together. The victim would be in an illusion coma, creating a world inside their mind while the ghosts will get a chance to live again, as humans in flesh.

Yet, there were rules to it. Only the souls chosen by the universe could perform that ritual, the ones worthy of a second chance."

"So Aini is now a living corpse captured in the mansion," I snorted, "wow Leila, the universe really is cruel."

"If only the worthy can have a second chance, how did she secure one?" Harry questioned his emotions at bay.

"I don't know."

Well, that ends it, I don't have a chance to kill this Witch, I can't take chances with Aini's life. The information about the spell was mistifying, "do we have any other way?" I heard Harry inquire.

"Leave me, I will find a way," the wicked witch choked.

"Bitch please! We will not let you trick us anymore," I spontaneously called her off.

"Only I can bring her-"'

"Shut up please," I cut the wicked witch off.

"There's only one way back," Leila spoke, deep in thoughts, "the veto spell."

"Whats a veto spell?" asked HArry.

"The reversing spell, if we could get Avyanna to the mansion near Aini, we could undo the spell," she explained to both of us.

The wicked witch was unusually quiet, which caught my attention, her silence was very suspicious. I kept the magical rope intact to her neck, I don't trust the witch one bit. I wonder why the universe sides with her, was she that good in her human life that the universe is offering her another chance? If the universe sides with only the worthy, wasn't Aini an innocent soul? Wasn't she good enough for the universe to side with her?

"Can you do that?" I asked Leila for assurance.

"It's worth a try," she replied, unsure of the outcome so I analyzed, "what's the risk?"

"Her," she pointed at the witch, "if we reverse the spell, we will get Aini but Avyanna will be..."

"Dead, forever," the witch finished it for us.

"So what? Now you worried about the witch?" I raised a question to Leila's silence, "seriously?"

"No, it's not that I'm worried about," She stated dismissively.

Was she worried that the witch would do something? Of course, she would, who are we kidding? It's her life at stake, but that doesn't mean we can't stop rescuing Aini.

"It's your daughter we are talking about Leila," I informed, she needs to be reminded every once in a while.

"Is there a spell that can let me listen to what Zara is telling?" Harry implored unexpectedly, actually, that would have been nice.

I heard the wicked witch chuckle at his question, she was now back to normal, her rosy cheeks were blood from the loosening of her rope. She flicked her hands and I was alerted, I hold the magical tope hard again, waiting for an indication to tighten it once more, although I was a little worried about hurting Aini in the process. I wouldn't kill her, another day perhaps, but I will make sure she suffers.

"I can see Zara," Harry's astonished shriek brought me out of my bitter plans.

"Poor guy felt left out," the wicked witch mumbled, it's clear that it was her bidding.

I realized one thing, she was strong! Stronger than Leila, most likely she would overthrow me as well if only my powers were not ruled by my emotions. She was staring at us expectantly, with a smirk on her face.

"Don't wait for it," I warned her, there was no way in hell Im going to thank the Witch, but her performing a spell to helping us was, I dare say... Sweet.

"I'm sorry I did this to your daughter, I'll show you where she is," she offered to Leila.

"Don't believe her Leila," I warned.

"Why are you helping us?" Harry asked it seems like he fell for a little stunt, boy she manipulate people like toys, trusting her would be equal to trusting a passing cloud. I glared at Harry.

"It's our only way Zara, she is the key to get Aini back," he answered my unsought question, putting forth the only option we have but I'm worried about the witch's intention.

"I can understand you Harry but what if she is lying?" I implored him, he was earnest to bring his girlfriend back and his worry was clouding his vision.

"Do we have another choice?" He asked instead, I wanted to answer him with a better solution but there wasn't any.

"That's what I thought," he mumbled under his breath.

"It settles it guys," Leila spoke again after complete silence, she was back to her business demeanor, and looking at her was assuring that she indeed has a plan, for she was calm when she asked the witch,

"Make an unbreakable promise, to deliver us to the mansion, to my daughter without formulating obstacles."

The Wicked Witch smiled at leila appreciatively, she was pointing at her neck, an indication to procure the magical rope.

"The rope stays until we are sure about trusting you," I asserted to her, I don't want to leave ourselves unprepared.

She sighed but she extended both her hands towards Leila, Leila neared the witch, with no precautions. I was prepared to tighten the twine, but leila casually took hold of the extended hand, and together they spoke in harmony, their voices binding in the air with thick magic.

"I, hereby swears to deliver you to our witch sister, Aini Malcolm, the blood of Valerie shall live strong until the curse is broken, you will not be strayed from my words."

That was some kind of a promising tradition I guess, when they were done, leila asked to free the rope, to which I hesitantly did so. It was fun to see the witch suffer. When the rope was off and Leila's wounding spell cut from affecting, the witch recovered extensively, her wounds healing promptly and her beauty back on the surface.

"Take us to the mansion," Harry let out instantly, and we all waited for the witch to share the location.

"For that, we need to perform a passageway spell," she informed calmly, adjusting her dresses, suddenly she ran towards the couch and whined, "you destroyed my works, that took me ages to design."

"None of our business," I spit at her, she will be soon dead, why does she need to worry at all? Idiotic.

"Why should we perform a passageway spell?" Leila initiated, frustration clear in her worn-out face. She was tired, all of us could say that.

"That my dear witch sister, the place we are about to venture isn't a place for a picnic, it would expel guests. Especially, the witches and spirits," she acknowledged, pointing at the both of us.

"She's probably tricking us again," I inserted in between, I didn't know why I felt I could not believe the witch although they performed the 'witches swearing' the weird feeling was constant in my mind.

"What's that place," Leila ignored my allegation and asked.

"The Townsfolk..."
