As I watch the news I see acts so cruel;

kids driving other kids to kill.

What has become of our kids in school?

Will my kids have to suffer this still?

They are but six years and five months now

and the very thought of it makes me ill.

What has become of our kids, and how?

Do parents not teach their kids of wrong and right?

I, for one, will teach my kids, this I vow.

I think of stories my father told; tales of fair fight.

He spoke of honor, courage and respect,

when bare knuckle fists were weapons; no guns in sight.

The cause of such plight, I conclude, is neglect.

So parents teach your little ones the value of life.

High standards of reverence and virtue we must reelect.
