Some people knew you so well,
Others not yet an acquaintance,
Yet all were treated to your kindest side.

You went to join your oldest brother,
Your father left right after you,
Accompanied by his best friend.

I know you only wanted to keep your family safe,
That's all any father would want,
Your son is safe,
The rest of your family safe in the states.

Everyone knows that you took one wife home with you,
And that when it is time,
You will come for your other wife as well.

You didn't pick up the day they called,
We found out you were shot the next day,
The events surely tearing hearts apart.

No one knew why,
You probably didn't either,
Your Heavenly father did,
But I know none of us did.

You said to your older brother, at his funeral,
That you would see him soon.

We thought,
It must be a mistake,
A typo,
"That's funny"
I remember thinking,
"I hope it's not soon"

It was.
One month later.
Shot to the head.
On Vacation.

I love you, Uncle
You were my father's best friend,
He told me the happy times,
So that I could get to know you better,
And I like this version better,
Then the father who had to leave everyone so young.

We probably won't ever catch the ones who did it.
They murdered women and children after that.

Life is unfair.
