Chapter 9: Shocking Discoveries
A/N: *from inside Danny's war trench* Hellooooo peoples, welcome back.
Danny: Clockwork, anybody, come help me.
Me: Shh! Or else someone will hear you
Danny: Who cares? You're literally talking to the readers!
Me: Fair point. Anyways, hope you enjoy the chapter
Danny's POV
"C'mon, just try it," Sam said beside me, waving her veggie burger in Tucker's face.
Tucker crossed his arms and turned his head away, "No way am I putting those evil vegetables in me. I'm still recovering from the whole 'Blood Blossom' thing!"
I laughed as my two friends continued to argue. They could go at this for hours unless I stepped in. But sometimes, it was funnier to just sit back and watch.
We were currently at our favourite hangout, Nasty Burger. I was currently slowly eating my order of fries while I watched my friends argue, when a hand slammed down on our table.
"Hey Fenturd," Dash's annoying voice teased.
I sighed, "What do you want Dash?" I really wasn't in the mood for him today.
Dash removed his hand from the table, "Just wanted to give you something."
Before I realized it, a tray of food including a drink, was spilled on me. I sat there covered in sauce, soda, and bits of food while Dash and his friends laughed. The jocks walked away and I grabbed a handful of napkins in a feeble attempt to clean myself off.
"You ok man?" Tucker asked.
I gave him a half-hearted glare, "I'm covered in Nasty Sauce Tuck. Feels great."
Tucker shrunk back a bit. "He's only trying to help Danny," Sam scolded.
I sighed, "Yeah you're right. Sorry Tuck." A female's voice screamed inside my head. Clutching my head in pain, I could faintly hear the worried voices of my friends. But the voice, it sounded like..... the castle! Something had to be extremely wrong for me to hear it's voice this strongly outside the Ghost Zone.
Just as suddenly as the screaming started, it stopped. All I heard now was a faint whimpering.
I felt my shoulder shaking. "-ny? Danny! Answer me!" I heard Sam say.
I groaned, "I'm ok, just a headache." Tucker and Sam didn't know about the whole 'castle being alive' thing. I hated keeping secrets from them again but this time it was well founded. Clockwork had told me to keep this stuff secret, in order to protect them.
I felt a cold sensation in my chest and I gasped as a blue mist escaped from my mouth. My friends and I shared a look and we all bolted out of the restaurant. Running to the back of the building I transformed while Sam and Tucker pulled out their personal Fenton Thermos's and wrist rays.
I searched for any sign of a ghost, but saw none. I used the little trick Clockwork taught me to see ghosts when they were invisible but still nothing. I frowned, that's the second time that this has happened. First was the movie theater and now here? What was going on? Was it my powers just acting up?
I was unable to focus on any more questions when a portal appeared beside me. Before I could cry out, a hand emerged from the portal and grabbed my arm, pulling me in.
Once I was through the portal I was released. I charged my hands with ecto-energy, preparing to fire on my abductor. But I was shocked to see King Pavor (but I still call him Fright Knight) floating beside me.
I let the energy fade, "FK? What the heck!? A little more warning next time would be nice!" I noticed that we were in the castle's throne room.
"Apologies my friend, but Clockwork said it was a matter of most importance," he explained.
"But what about my friends?" I asked.
"Clockwork said that he would make it so they think that you went home early."
I crossed my arms, "So what's the big emergency?" Fright Knight placed his arms behind his back, looking unsure about something.
"I was hoping you would be able to help me figure that out," he admitted.
I raised an eyebrow and looked around the room, noticing that the doors of the throne room had been blasted off their hinges. The room itself smelled of thick smoke.
I coughed, "What do you mean? Where's Clockwork?"
Fright Knight floated towards his throne and I followed, "He said that he had to check up on something. But before he left he instructed me to get you here quickly by any means possible."
I was shocked, whatever happened here must have been really big. Not only just for me to hear the castle scream so clearly, but also for Clockwork to want me here ASAP.
I quickly spoke to the castle, "Are you alright?"
"I'll recover. That ghost did some damage but nothing that can't be healed." the castle replied.
Ghost? A ghost did all this? "What exactly happened?" I asked aloud.
Fright Knight began to explain, "A strange ghost attacked the castle today. He seemed to know Clockwork. Not only that, he was able to block Clockwork's powers."
I gasped. Fright Knight continued, "He talked for a bit, saying things like he was now part spirit. And then he spoke in rhyme, almost like a prophecy."
"What did he look like?" I asked.
"Flaming white hair, red eyes, blue skin, and he wore a black and white suit with a cape that had a strange symbol on the chest."
My eyes widened. It couldn't be him, that was impossible. "Did.... Did he say his name?" I asked timidly.
Fright Knight nodded, "He called himself Dan Phantom."
I felt the colour drain from my face, the room spun around me as my vision went blurry. I stumbled around for a few steps before I felt myself fall forwards and darkness overtook me.
THE RARELY SEEN LINE BREAK
Fright Knight's POV
I barely had enough time to catch the boy before he made contact with the hard ground. I scooped him up in my arms and carried him through the castle, up to his room.
Since Danny was the original Prince, he had his own room in the castle. He didn't use it very much but I knew he liked it. The walls were black with white swirled designs on them. On the right side of the room was a large window with green curtains. There was a wooden desk on one side of the window and a bookshelf on the other side. On the left side of the room was a white dresser and wardrobe that held some clothes and a long mirror. In the center of the room rested a large bed with black and white sheets, on top of of white carpet.
I placed Danny gently on his bed. He was out cold. Did Danny know who that mysterious ghost was? And if so, how? All my questions had to wait for later as Danny needed rest. I exited his room and closed the door softly behind me.
In doing so, I walked right into a maid. She dropped the linens she was holding onto the floor, "Apologies my King. I should have been watching where I was going," she said quickly as she rushed to pick up the linens.
I bent down to help her, "No need for an apology it was my fault. You are Nina, correct?"
The maid looked up at me and nodded. She had bright green eyes and pale blue skin. She had a small mole above her top lip. A few strands of her dark black hair fell out of her bun and rested on her shoulder. She wore a simple white blouse and a brown skirt with a white apron tied around her waist.
I picked up the rest of the linens and folded them. She held out her arms and I gave her the linens I was holding. "Thank you for your assistance sire," Nina said as she curtsied.
I smiled, "You are welcome." She blushed and scurried off. I still had a wide smile on my face as I walked back to the throne room. After a quick conversation with the castle asking it to tell me when Danny awoke, I entered the throne room to see the Time Master waiting there in his middle aged form. He looked, concerned.
"Where is Danny?" he asked the second I was next to him.
"In his room, unconscious," I replied.
Clockwork's eyes widened, "Is he harmed?!"
I shook my head, "No, I told him of the ghost who attacked and when I mentioned his name Danny passed out."
Clockwork paced back and forth. I have never seen the Elder Spirit look so stressed, so confused.
"Time Master, what is going on?" I asked, placing a hand on Clockwork's shoulder to stop his pacing.
It worked. "That ghost should not be free. He should never be free. And if I'm right, that speech he gave was a prophecy. A prophecy that even I have never heard of."
My eyes widened, "What does this mean?"
Clockwork placed his head in his hand as he shifted to his toddler form, "I'm not sure."
