Chapter 3: Back to the Castle
A/N: Hey peoples I'm back with another new chapter for you
Danny: About time
Me: Where did you come from?
Danny: Clockwork let me in
Clockwork: Hello
Me: This can't end well for me
Fright Knight's POV
I floated around the castle, aimlessly wandering the many halls while staff scurried about around me. A lot had changed in the year I had been King. The castle had shifted to better suit me and now had a purple, green and black colour scheme.
My attire had greatly changed. I no longer wore my full body suit of armor, it was now replaced with loose black pants, and a long sleeved black shirt. I wore a silver belt around my waist with my sword, Soul Shredder, resting at my side. On my feet were metal boots and on my hands were a pair of metal gauntlets. I wore a simple green and purple cape, attached to my attire by metal shoulder plates. The Ring of Rage on my right ring finger and the Crown of Fire hovered above my no longer helmeted head.
To most it was a shock to see me without my helmet (excluding Clockwork). I had long black hair and glowing green eyes. My skin was slightly tinted blue and I had a small scar on my right cheek. My face was narrow and I had a slightly pointed chin along with a strong jawline.
While my changes were immense, I liked to believe I had made a bigger change in the Ghost Zone. I was not a very strict ruler, mostly letting the ghosts do as they pleased (within reason).
Of course some came to me with complaints about the new laws I had put in place (even Walker), and there was the required meetings with the Observants, Clockwork and now Nocturne as he officially had reclaimed his place as an Elder Spirit. But none of that truly bothered me. I knew I was doing good with the Ghost Zone and making it a better place from when Pariah Dark reigned chaos and darkness.
I felt a small buzzing in the back of my mind, "We have a guest," a female voice spoke clearly in my mind. Danny had told me of the castle and how was alive. By wearing the ring and crown the castle was able to communicate with me and I with it.
Though it was difficult to get used to at first, I have grown to enjoy the castle and it's chatter.
"Who?" I thought in reply.
"It's a surprise," the castle responded.
I sighed and let out a small laugh. It amazed me that despite being as old as the first Elder Spirit, the castle still acted childish at times.
"Will you at least say where?" I asked.
"Throne room."
"Thank you."
"You are welcome King Pavor."
I made my way to the throne room where my guest was waiting. As I made my way through the large halls, I bumped into a familiar little ghost maid.
"Pardon me, my lady. I should have been watching where I was going," I said as I bowed to the girl.
Talia laughed, "You are pardoned my King. Might I ask where you are going in such a rush?"
"To the throne room. I have a guest waiting there."
Talia grinned, "May I come as well?"
I nodded and we both made our way to the throne room. I glanced down at the young girl. She had grown quite a bit in the past year. She wore her blonde hair in a single braid that reached the middle of her back, her face had gotten a bit thinner accenting her cheekbones a bit more. She had also grown a bit and now reached my torso.
"Is it who I think it is?" she asked.
I shrugged, "Him or you-know-who."
Talia smiled up at me, "I'll bet Nightmare that's it's him."
I smirked, "I accept."
We reached the large purple doors of the throne room and walked in. In the center of the room stood a young ghost boy wearing tight black pants and long white boots with a green stripe around the top. Around his waist was a white belt that held many gadgets, including a familiar looking thermos. He wore a simple black shirt that was white around the neck and chest area and held a familiar black symbol. Over top of the shirt he wore a white vest with a green collar and bottom. On his hands were black gloves and he wore white fingerless gloves over top of the black gloves. His pure white hair reached the bottom of his neck and had a small black streak going through it. His glowing green eyes were bright with excitement.
"Danny!" Talia cried as she flew straight at the young boy. She tackled him to the ground in a hug and both of them burst into giggles.
"I can see you have been hanging around my cousin too much," he laughed. The two separated and Talia helped Danny to his feet.
I walked over to them, "Good to see you Danny," I said, placing a hand on the young halfa's shoulder, "And I see you have gone through yet another costume change?"
Danny looked me up and down, "You're one to talk FK. Besides, I think this one is a keeper. Sam picked it out."
Smiling, I joked, "Well then of course it must stay. You would not want to face the wrath of Lady Samantha." Danny laughed as did Talia.
"So what do I owe to this pleasure?" I asked.
Danny put on a mock hurt look, "Can't I just come to say hi every now and then?"
I raised an eyebrow. Danny sighed and crossed his arms, "Fine, I was bored. I went to a movie with Sam and Tuck but they had to go home right after. Mom and dad are out of town at a Ghost Hunter Convention and Jazz is busy with college applications."
Talia floated around Danny, giggling all the while. "What's up with her? Did you give her Jeffery's chocolate brownies again?" Danny asked sticking a thumb at Talia.
I shook my head, "After what happened last time, I've had those under lock and key."
"I was right about you being here and now I get to take Nightmare for a ride," Talia said she twirled around Danny.
Danny looked at me with a raised eyebrow, "How did that happen?"
"We made a bet on who would be in the throne room. I bet you, Pavor bet Clockwork. The prize was Nightmare," Talia explained.
Danny burst out laughing, bending over as he clutched his stomach. I crossed my arms, trying to hold back a smile. Danny wiped away a tear, "Have fun with that FK."
I finally let out my smile, "I never said I had to be the one to take her for a ride."
The colour drained from Danny's face and Talia's lit up with excitement. She grabbed Danny's arm and pulled him out of the throne room while he yelled, "I'll get you for this Fright!!"
"At least you won't be bored anymore," I yelled just as the two exited the throne room.
"If anything is damaged during their little adventure, I expect you to fix it," the castle said to me in a warning tone.
I snickered and rushed after the two young ghosts. I passed by staff members and told them about what was going to happen. They then raced off to tell others. The courtyard was eventually filled with ghosts (some who had even brought snacks) to watch Danny and Talia ride Nightmare.
Everyone laughed as Talia rode Nightmare around the courtyard with Danny hanging on for dear life. It was good to see everyone smiling. Well, everyone but Danny who looked a little green.
I could tell he was trying to get adjusted to the royal life. He had been visiting the castle a lot more, gotten to know all of the staff members and knew his way around the entire castle. He was also still linked with the castle mentally and I sometimes caught him talking aloud to himself in an empty room.
But I could also tell he felt he still wasn't ready. I was prepared to step down whenever he decided to take his rightful place on the throne, but I had a feeling that the day for that was still a long time away.
A/N: And there you go, the next chapter.
Danny: Why did you make me ride Nightmare? I feel sick.
Clockwork: I found it quite funny.
Danny: Hey!
Me: You two hush. So on a different note, I have begun to start thinking about other projects and I want your guy's opinion. I am thinking about starting:
