Danny's POV

I was in darkness once more. I sighed, this was getting old. "Can we just get this over with?" I shouted into the darkness.

A laugh echoed around me, "What's the matter Danny? Too busy for an old friend?"

I snickered, "I would hardly call you a friend."

A mock gasp could be heard. "Oh how you wound me," a sarcastic voice spoke.

I started walking through the darkness, my hand alight with green energy. "So, what have you come to torture me about this time? The prophecy? My future? More of your awful breath in my face? Seriously dude, breath mints are only like 5 cents." I smiled as no retort came.

I started to chuckle, only for a hand to wrap around my throat. I struggled for air as I felt my feet being lifted off the ground. I was now staring into the hard red eyes of my evil future self.

"Do you ever stop talking?" he growled, baring his fangs.

I managed a laugh, "Aw, did I hurt your feelings?" I choked out.  Dan tightened his grip on my throat and I clawed at his hand, desperate to remove his fingers from crushing my windpipe.

He laughed, "I have no feelings. Feelings are a weak human emotion, and I am no human." Dan spat out the word human as if it was painful to say. My vision was starting to go fuzzy due to lack of oxygen.

He released my throat and I fell to the ground, gasping for breath. "We can't have you pass out now can we?" Dan asked. Before I could even muster a reply, Dan swung his foot at my face.

I was knocked to the side and Dan's foot quickly took up residence on my chest. He put pressure on my chest and I bit my lip to hold back a whimper of pain.

Dan placed his elbow on his knee and glared down on me, "Finally, some peace and quiet," he commented.

I grabbed Dan's foot and threw him over me. He landed on his front and I was able to sit up. I clutched my chest as I stood up, facing away from my evil double. I was breathing heavily and was slowly walking away from Dan, further into the welcoming darkness.

"DON'T WALK AWAY FROM ME!" Dan screamed and I was pulled back by an unseen force. I landed in the chair from my last dream. But this time, no restraints held me in the chair.

I stood up, but Dan grabbed my shoulder and forced me to sit down again. "I am trying to be nice Danny. Don't ruin it," he warned.

I didn't feel like being restrained again so I remained seated. Another chair appeared in front of me and Dan sat down on it. He slouched and crossed his legs, staring at me.

I shifted uncomfortably under his gaze. "You have quite the number of secrets in your head Danny," Dan suddenly said, "Some I don't even have. My, you have been quite the busy little ghost boy haven't you?"

I frowned, "What are you talking about?" My head began to feel like someone was pounding a hammer on it.

Dan gasped, "A new Queen?! This is certainly new. My partner will be glad to hear about this."

I clutched my head, "How are you doing this?!"

Dan laughed, "My new half-spirit status, grants me newfound abilities. Including one that allows me to search your mind for any information I want," Dan leaned forward in his chair, "And right now, the most important thing I want is what you know about this new Queen."

The pain in my head grew, "Stop!" I shouted.

"Why should I?" Dan asked.

"Stop!"

"Who's going to make me?"

"STOP!" I screamed, unleashing my ghostly wail on him.

Dan flew back and I took the moment to fly away as fast as I could. "YOU CAN RUN DANNY! BUT YOU CAN NEVER ESCAPE! YOUR FATE IS SEALED!" Dan screamed through the darkness. I closed my eyes and blocked out any noise.

"Just let me wake up," I whispered, my voice pleading.

Danny's POV

I bolted upright in bed. I was panting and sweating, my heart pounding in my ears. Taking deep breaths, I slowed down my heart rate and allowed my thoughts to clear. I stood up and went straight to my bathroom, taking off my sweaty pajamas and hopping into a cold shower.

The water ran through my raven locks and down my bare back, pooling around my feet. The water was like ice but I didn't feel the slightest bit cold, thanks to my ice core. I practice my breathing exercises Clockwork had taught me.

In.... two..... three

Out.... two..... three

I repeated this multiple times until I felt myself completely calm down. That entire experience was awful. How I wish Dan never existed, that I had never chosen to go down that dark path. It scared me to think of the way I got to that point. Insane and murderous, it wasn't me. I would never do that. And yet.....

I turned off the water and stepped out of the shower. Drying myself off, my eyes glazed over my sweaty pajamas. I decided against putting them back on and transformed into my Phantom form instead. As the two white rings spread over me, my Phantom uniform appeared. Long white boots with a green stripe on the top, paired with tight black jeans. Around my waist was a white belt that held a Fenton Thermos, Fenton Phones (renamed Phantom Phones), and an Ecto-Energy Detector. A long sleeved black shirt that was white around my neck and chest area with my symbol on it appeared, paired with a white vest with a green collar and bottom. My hands were fitted with black leather gloves, with fingerless white gloves over top. My white hair flowed down my neck and my ecto green eyes glowed.

I stepped out of the bathroom and exited my room, heading for the kitchen. I floated through the quiet and empty halls, thinking to myself. I arrived at the kitchen and was surprised to see Nina sitting on a chair in front of the counter.

She turned her head and smiled, "Danny, how good it is to see you. Come, sit with me." She motioned her hand towards me and I took up a seat beside her.

"What in the name of the Elders are you doing up at this hour?" she questioned, her greens eyes alight with curiosity.

I furrowed my brow, "What time is it?" I asked.

"Just after midnight," she replied.

"In that case, what are you doing up?" I questioned.

Nina shrugged, "Had a craving for sweets I guess." She moved a plate of Jeffery's famous chocolate chip cookies in front of me. My mouth watered as I grabbed one and greedily took a bite out of it.

"So, what's going on?" Nina asked.

I swallowed, "What do you mean?"

She chuckled, her laugh like tinkling bells, "I know more about you than you think Danny. I can tell when something is on your mind."

"More like in my mind," I muttered. Nina placed a hand on my shoulder, her touch gentle, almost motherly.

"Danny?" she asked cautiously.

I sighed, "I had a little problem with my alternate self again."

Nina frowned, "Dan Phantom, correct?"

I nodded, "He taunted me, gained some secrets that he shouldn't know and is now probably telling them to his 'partner'."

Resting my elbows on the table, I placed my head in my hands, "I'm not sure what to do anymore. This whole 'prophecy' thing. Dan. Some psycho ghost out to get me-"

I was silenced as Nina pulled me into a hug. She wrapped her arms around me and patted my hair, resting her chin on the top of my head. I sank into her hold, "It's Vizier all over again," I whispered.

"That was not your fault Danny," Nina said firmly, "Vizier grabbed you when you were at a weak point. And when you tried to resist, he forcefully took control. None of your actions were your choice Danny. None, except when you chose to save the Time Master."

Nina's voice was soothing to my tense nerves. I awkwardly gave her a hug back and I heard her giggle. We broke our embrace and I turned to face Nina. She placed her hands on my shoulders and stared directly into my eyes.

"You are a good person Danny. You have a pure heart that wishes to do good upon others. That is your desire. That is your strength. Do not let anyone take that away from you."

Nina lifted a hand to cup my cheek," Your friends and family believe in you, Pavor believes in you, Clockwork believes in you, the castle and it's people believe in you, and I believe in you Danny."

She leaned forward and lightly kissed my forehead, "Let no doubts be in your mind when I tell you this. People care about you Danny. We are all here to support you no matter what. We love you Danny."

I smiled and gave her another hug. She wrapped her arms around me and we stayed like that for a few minutes. Nina had said exactly what I needed to hear, and I was grateful for it.

"Thank you," I whispered.

She kissed my head, "It is the truth, young Prince." We separated and I wiped away a small tear. Nina stood up and turned to leave the kitchen. "You should get back to bed. You have to be up in a few hours to return home before school starts."

As Nina walked out of the kitchen I laughed, standing up and grabbing one last cookie. She was starting to sound like Clockwork.
