The Seven Pets: Daichi a.k.a. Shun Tomai-rough?, compassionate?; ***Mizu/water a.k.a. Takumi Morimu-family guy, has been using Hide's computer to check up on his family, compassionate, feelings over logic; Kuki a.k.a. Hiroshi Sora-soft?; Kasai a.k.a. Okay, so unlike Kaneki with his centipedes, this guy's 'thing' are chainsaws. Greeeaaat!

F*cking psychopaths. I hate them.

"Let me go, you motherf*cker!" I growled, struggling in my restraints.

Being chained in this chair like this.. Urgh, it's giving me flashbacks.. I feel like Kaneki's here.. Am I so weak? But I guess it's worse because I don't have any way to know what's going on--I'm blindfolded. So I can't prepare for what he's going to do to me..

With Kaneki, I was never blindfolded, so if he did anything, I could be prepared. If he was about to dye my hair, he'd be grabbing a bottle of dye that I could see, so I could take a deep breath and hold it, closing my eyes. If he was going to put a centipede in some weird place, I would be ready to receive pain.

Like this.. like this, there is nothing I can do but sit in this chair in fear, awaiting whatever may come and not even knowing where it will be coming, never mind what will be coming.

Hide's P.O.V.

With tears threatening to bubble up, I clicked on a different contact and put it on speaker. It rang twice before picking up.

Her monotone voice began to speak, but I interrupted with a blowup.

"F*ck you!"

"... Nice to see you, too, Nagachika," she replied sarcastically.

"Sorry, sorry, I meant, Ryou's been kidnapped!"

"... What?"

"He's missing!! And his phone isn't replying!! Which, by the way, he has f*cking -- he -- he would pick up no matter what because it f*cking annoys him and sh*t! And I--"

"Nagachika, calm down. Tell me exactly what happened."

"I DON'T KNOW WHAT F*CKING HAPPEHNE, I-"

"Give me that," Reidon's calm voice said as he took the phone from me. "Hello, Mado-san. I apologize for Hide's overreactions. Ryou said beforehand that he'd be leaving. He went to bed here, but when we woke up, he wasn't here. His stuff is still here, but I'm sure-"

"You know I believe Nagachika more than you, correct?" Mado-san interrupted. "I merely want the facts, and I'll make my own assumption."

"... Hai. We made a consensus vote last night, and everyone except Ryou wants to stay here in this house. He expressed firmly that he did not. He went to bed here anyway, but I assu- I mean, he might've gotten up before us and left. Perhaps to search for his own apartment."

"... So did Nagachika call me just because he's flipping out?"

"Basically."

"Alright. Well, I don't care if he left of his own free will or not, the CCG is going to search for him because he should not be without supervision. Call me if there's anymore news."

The cellphone beeped.

"YOU B*TCH, WE WEREN'T FINI-"

Nagachika-san.. seemed.. more on edge than usual.. Pouty even..

He was growling under his breath, his eyes glaring at the ground in front of him as if it was the foulest thing in the world, and his arms were crossed.

"Um.. what exactly happened..?" Taiga asked Kaneki-san, who also seemed a little unhappy.

"Ryou, that cowardly b*tch, left," Kaneki-san replied sourly. "And now Hide's worried about him! I don't get it. If Hide REALLY cares for me, and I'm his ONLY pet, then why is he caring for Ryou?"

Both me and Taiga had the same reaction.

"Well, whatever. Come on, let's get to work," Taiga replied, sitting down.

"Fine.." Nagachika-san bitterly replied, starting to move about our station.

Wow.. I swear, those seven - actually, those eight because Kaneki-san is included - are not good for him. At all. Without them, I think he'd-

"AND KANEKI F*CKING F*CKED ME LAST NIGHT!!" Nagachika-san suddenly whipped around with seething anger, "YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SEX DOES TO YOUR BODY, YOU A**HOLES!!"

"Actually, I do," Taiga replied.

"I DOUBT YOU'RE THE F*CKING UKE, NARINO-SAN!!"

"I am not, normally, no."

"SO I AM SITTING HERE, F*CKING EXHAUSTED FROM LAST NIGHT, AND RYOU WAS KIDNAPPED, AND F*CKING-- URGH!!" Nagachika-san threw his hands up in frustration.

He is not okay to work today. At all.

"You didn't like last night, Hide? You were making nice noises."

"NO!!!" Nagachika-san screamed at Kaneki-san. I put my hand over my face.

Oh my G*d, this is a disaster..

I didn't see Kaneki-san's frown, but I did hear his response.

"Hide.." his voice was dark, "It's bad for you to reject sex.."

I - stupidly - peeked out of my hand, shocked at what a disgusting statement Kaneki-san had just claimed.

"Especially to a pet, you know.." Kaneki-san murmured. He looked like a demon, his aura of darkness practically visible.

"KANEKI, ENOUGH OF SEX!!" Nagachika-san seemed unaffected, throwing his hands up yet again, "YOUR F*CKING LATE MASTER F*CKED YOU UP!!"

"Don't insult my Master, Hide," Kaneki-san hissed back, and I knew that this was going to end badly, but all I could do was watch in horror. Clearly, they were about to fight like cats.

Demonic cats, but still.

"KANEKI, I KILLED YOUR LATE MASTER FOR A REASON! HE MADE YOU A F*CKING PSYCHOPATH!! AS IF YOU WEREN'T BAD ENOUGH!! I'M SICK OF YOU ASKING FOR SEX ALL THE TIME!! I--"

It all happened in a blur.

All of the sudden, Kaneki-san had shoved Nagachika-san down to the floor by his neck, and he was choking him, his kakugan flaring. Black veins were even peaking out of his eye.

Then the next second, both of them had released their kagune, and they were both fighting with both kakugan flaring. Nagachika-san had cut Kaneki-san's hands off, and Kaneki-san had torn Nagachika-san's clothing before a voice roared through the entire room.

"BOTH OF YOU, STOP IT!!" {Akira Mado}

Nagachika-san only glanced at the source, but otherwise, they both ignored it as if they hadn't even heard. Nagachika-san kicked Kaneki-san's stomach, but Kaneki-san just unzipped his pants, and I was about to cover my eyes, but hands were already over them. Taiga.

His voice roared from behind me, "Both of you a**holes, stop it!! This is not the place to be doing something like that!! You are in a room full of people!!" I covered my ears instead of my eyes.

What a mess..

Akira's P.O.V.

I cannot believe this!!

As soon as I entered the room, I screamed at them both for their outburst, and I ran down the steps to reach them so that I could pull them apart. They ignored my order, just continuing to fight. Both of them had kakugan and kagune completely visible.

As soon as I finally reached them, I pulled Kaneki off of Nagachika, and Amon pulled Nagachika off the floor and away from Kaneki and I.

"What are you two idiots doing?!!" I screamed at both of them, "Fighting in the middle of a research line!!" Both of them growled back, feral. Kaneki was the one who continued to fight, trying to hit me with his kagune, so I backed off and went in front of Nagachika, taking my quinque out. Luckily, Nagachika was more reserved and tamed, merely growling as Amon held him back. I fought Kaneki with my quinque as Amon got out a tranquilizer. Still, Nagachika didn't struggle. Amon shuffled away from Nagachika so that he had a clear shot of Kaneki.

Kaneki went down after two shots.

I turned to Nagachika, angry, and he merely glared back.

"What were you thinking?!" I snarled.

"Kaneki's the one who started trying to rape me!" he growled back.

"You're the one who started screaming, Nagachika!!" Narino snarled.

"F*ck you!!" Nagachika replied.

I cannot believe this mess..

"Nagachika, both of you could've seriously hurt someone," I growled at him, "There is a very sensitive deal that is repressing both of your captivities, and that could easily be broken by a squabble like this!!"

"Well, I'M sorry," Nagachika replied sarcastically, "but I jusT GOT F*CKED AGAIN LAST NIGHT, AND I WOKE UP TO RYOU BEING KIDNAPPED!!!" he screamed.

"Nagachika, you need to calm down!! I don't want to have to arrest you, but if I do, I will!!"

"F*ck that!! Do you know what Ryou's been through already due to Kaneki?!! No!! You don't!! None of you could ever understand because yoU DIDN'T GO THROUGH THAT!! THAT WHINY B*TCH WAS TWISTED BY KANEKI NOT TO FEEL PAIN!! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH YOU MUST HAVE TO GO THROUGH TO BE SO F*CKING TWISTED THAT YOU DON'T EVEN REGISTER PAIN?!!

"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, MADO-SAN!! IT'S MY FAULT THAT HE IS THE WAY HE IS!! KANEKI FORCED MY PERSONALITY ONTO HIM!! I AM THE ONE WHO FAILED TO RESCUE KANEKI BEFORE HE F*CKED A BUNCH OF KIDS OVER!! AND RYOU IS THE WORST OUT OF THEM BECAUSE HE IS THE ONE WHO HAD A PERSONALITY FORCED ONTO HIM!! NOW, LIKE A STUPID LITTLE KID, HE IS REJECTING THAT WHICH WAS FORCED UPON HIM BY HATING BOTH ME AND KANEKI WITH BURNING PASSION!! AND NOW HE WAS F*CKING KIDNAPPED, AND THAT'S MY FAULT, TOO!!" Nagachika's eyes were bubbling up with tears now, but they still held burning anger.

"Nagachika, calm down," I snarled, "We are trying our hardest to find--"

"YOU DON'T GET IT, MADO-SAN!!!" he screamed as loud as he could, the shrill of his voice echoing through the silent room, "DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TOOK ME TO FIND KANEKI WITH ANTEIKU'S HELP?!! HUH?!! YOU DON'T GET IT!! BY THE TIME YOU A**HOLES FIND HIM, IT'LL ALREADY BE TOO LATE, AND HE'LL BE F*CKING OVER MORE KIDS THAT I'LL HAVE TO WATCH OVER!!" he hissed, tears bubbling at his eyes, "DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO KEEP THAT HOUSEHOLD UNDER CONTROL?!! HUH?!! DO YOU?!! NO, YOU DON'T!! THOSE KIDS ARE CONSTANTLY PICKING A FIGHT WITH KANEKI AND VICE VERSA!! AND A LOT OF TIMES, THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW!! AND I HAVE TO PICK UP THE PIECES!! I AM THE ONE WHO HAS TO KEEP THE PEACE BETWEEN THEM ALL!!" He broke down into a sob, "I'm the only one who doesn't hate everyone in that household.. And getting my own apartment with Kaneki doesn't solve sh*t!!"

As he sobbed, I stood there, watching solemnly.

Nagachika was a mess. He put on a brave face, smiling and defending when need be, but the reality is, inside he is as broken as the eight he is currently watching over. Nagachika may have been tortured for less time than the others, but he was there since the beginning. Kaneki's torture had been weighing on him since the first time he watched one of the videotapes that had arrived at his doorstep. And those seven kids' torture was weighing on him since the second he knew about Kaneki's 'pets'.

And now, with the cloud of torture weighing heavy over them all even after they've exited the world of torture, Nagachika is the one who feels broken most with not only the weight of torture over him, but also with the weight of recovery hanging on his shoulders and his alone.

Along with the weight of their lives and freedom.

A horrible tragedy, but what can one do? It's not like anyone can just magically fix Kaneki and the rest of them so that they were as they were before being tortured.

And that's probably exactly why Nagachika feels helpless and trapped:

There's no easy way out, and fixing the problem takes a lot of time.

And I doubt running away from this problem has ever even crossed his mind.

Because that's not how he thinks.
